Chapter 72 Brother Yu is back

During lunch break, Yu Yin hurriedly ran to the Corps farm to tell her father.

"dad?"

"Yu Yin, come in. What's the matter? Why are you in such a hurry?"

"My brother's matter is settled. He'll be flying to Kunming the day after tomorrow. He'll be accompanied by a comrade. When he arrives in Kunming, Captain Qiao said he'll ask a comrade to drive my brother back. The doctor said that if he rests well and gets plenty of nutrition, his chances of recovery are very high."

Yu Yin spoke very quickly, wanting to share the good news with her father.

"Great, great! Your brother is benefiting from your help this time."

"That's my brother, there's no question of him benefiting from my fame or not."

The original owner had deep feelings for her younger brother; he was the only warmth in her life. Yu Yin inherited this feeling and empathized with him.

"Oh, right, there's something else I wanted to tell you. My brother is back, and I'd like him to stay at my place so it'll be easier for us to take care of him."

"Staying at your place?"

Mr. Yu was surprised by Yu Yin's words. Is it appropriate for her to stay at her sister's house?

"Yes, firstly, the rooms on the first floor of my house are ready to live in. Secondly, my son Lu Shurui is on vacation, so there's always someone at home. Finally, my family's food can ensure my brother gets enough nutrition."

Yu Yin didn't directly say that her mother couldn't cook, that there was no one at home, and that her brother asked them to take care of her because she was worried.

"That's true. Let's see what your brother decides when he arrives."

Yu Yin had said everything she needed to say, and then rushed back to her workplace, as she had to work in the afternoon.

That evening, Yu Yin and Lu Shurui talked about this.

"Lu Shurui, my brother is coming back on a transport plane that's coming from here the day after tomorrow. I want him to recuperate at our house, so you'll have to take good care of him. My mom is busy with work and doesn't know how to cook, so I'm a little worried about her. My brother is the most important person in my family."

Lu Shurui wasn't surprised; he had expected it. From what he knew and heard, he admired Yu Xiaoge for his unwavering care and protection of his younger sister, even though she was only an hour or two younger than him, and they were twins.

“Why not? I’m on vacation now, so it’s easier to take care of the kids. Besides, there’s Yu Kang; he can help look after them. It’s just that, your mom…”

Lu Shurui was still afraid of his mother-in-law and didn't want to face her.

“My mom has my dad. I went to the farm today and told my dad that I'd like my brother to stay at our house. My dad said it depends on how my brother feels, and he'll take care of the rest.”

The two reached an agreement, and Yu Yin went to tidy up the guest rooms on the first floor. No one had stayed there since the rooms were partitioned; Yu Kang always stayed in the upstairs rooms.

Lu Shurui felt relaxed. He sensed that Yu Yin was gradually becoming more dependent on him, and would speak up directly without hesitation when needed. This was a good start.

It had been several days since the army arrived in Menghai County. After arriving in Kunming, they went to the military hospital for a check-up, and only after confirming that everything was fine were they sent back.

"Brother!"

Yu Yin looked at her brother, whom she hadn't seen in a long time. He was injured, with a cast on his leg, and his face was pale and he looked very weak.

Yu Yin's tears welled up in circles, and she tried her best to hold them back. Her voice was choked with sobs, and her hand holding Yu Jun's arm trembled involuntarily.

"It's okay, silly girl, you're a mother now, and you still cry so much."

Yu Jun knew his sister was heartbroken. She had never been one to cry, and no matter how wronged she was, she would silently endure it all, never letting him know. She would never cry, afraid that he would notice. Perhaps she had secretly cried under the covers at night, and sometimes when she woke up in the morning with her eyes looking a little off, she would never admit that she had cried.

"Okay, don't cry. Brother, let's go home. I've cleaned up my room, made chicken soup, and cooked dinner. I've also invited your comrades over for dinner. It's been so hard for you to come all this way."

"Okay, I understand."

Yu Jun tried to talk to the soldiers who brought him back, but they refused to stay for a meal, saying they had missions to complete and were in a hurry to go back.

Upon hearing this, Yu Yin quickly ran home, filled a basket with fruit, packed a lot of bamboo rice, packed two pineapple rice dishes, packed some side dishes in a jar, and packed two bamboo tubes of cooled boiled water. She then carried them to the parking area.

"Hey buddy, give these to the two of you to tide you over. It's lunchtime, you can't let them go hungry."

Yu Jun walked over with his crutches and told the two young soldiers that they had to eat their fill no matter what, even though it was just regular home-cooked food, and they absolutely couldn't refuse.

The two soldiers couldn't refuse any longer, and they were really hungry, so they accepted and drove back.

Yu Jun was also taken home by Yu Yin. He agreed to go to Yu Yin's house to recuperate. However, Yu's mother had a big argument about this and even resented Yu Yin.

Yu Yin didn't care about her mother; all she cared about now was her brother. She needed to quickly prepare delicious food for him to replenish his nutrition and help him recover his health.

Lu Shurui carried his brother-in-law's luggage and watched as Yu Yin nervously and cautiously followed beside him. His brother-in-law also followed closely behind, and Ping An An was like a little tail, calling out "Uncle, Uncle." Lu Shurui felt so aggrieved.

"Hey buddy, come in and take a look at our place."

"Second brother, second sister's house is so nice, there are so many fruit trees, and they taste so good."

"tasty."

An'an gave her uncle face and echoed him.

Yu Jun felt a warmth in his heart. This time, seeing his confident and cheerful younger sister, he finally felt at ease.

"It's really nice. This yard is very tidy. You can tell it's a family that lives a good life."

Yu Jun felt he had been away from the warmth of everyday life for too long and didn't know how to describe it.

"Young man, come sit down and rest for a while. We'll be eating soon."

Lu Shurui put away his luggage and helped his brother-in-law sit on the recliner.
