Knowing that Zhong Liang and Liang Chao were curious, Yu Yin didn't rush to give an answer, but instead started talking about other things.
"I heard from Brother Liang that Comrade Zhong did a very good job in the army and was quite capable. Let me first tell you about our current situation and our plans for the next ten years."
"Our main business now is Yunnan specialty products, and a small amount of dried goods from Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, and Northeast China. We are currently building a breeding farm, which is just the beginning. In the next ten years, we want to build our own farm, integrating planting, processing, and sales."
As for other industries, Yu Yin has no plans to get involved; at most, she might make some investments when she has spare money.
"Perhaps it won't be possible to complete this plan even in ten years, but I won't give up. I don't have any grand ambitions, and I don't want to achieve anything remarkable; I'm content with a modest life. I wonder if our stage is big enough for you to showcase your talents?"
Yu Yin has said what she needed to say; now it's up to Zhong Liang to make his own choice.
“If I had listened to you a year ago, I probably wouldn’t have chosen to stay. Back then, I was focused on making a name for myself, giving my sister a good life, and making my dad regret it for the rest of his life. But so much has happened, and my thoughts have changed.”
Thinking about his sister's ordeal, Zhong Liang clenched his fists, wishing he could dig up his family's ancestral graves.
"What's the use of being successful in your career if you have no one to share it with, and no one to truly applaud you? It's all meaningless. Zhong Ling is my only family now, and I just hope she can have a stable living environment and live a more relaxed life."
"If the solution provided by Boss Yu satisfies me, then I, Zhong Liang, will do my best to create the value you deserve, so that you have no worries."
Having served as a bodyguard for a high-ranking leader for so many years and experienced many ups and downs, Zhong Liang's aura suddenly changed, making him impossible to ignore.
Yu Yin remained smiling, showing neither excitement nor doubt.
“Brother Liang said that Zhong Ling is just a little shy, but she does have life skills. My solution is to have her work with Aunt Hu at my house, doing simple housework. My family is small, with young and old people, so she should be able to adapt.”
Yu Yin saw that the little girl had clear eyes, but she had encountered something bad and couldn't recover for a while, so she shut herself off.
"Yes, I took her to see a doctor, who said she doesn't have any mental problems, just psychological trauma. He said she should gradually come into contact with the outside world, and the chances of recovery are very high. She's been much better over the past year, and that's when I thought about going back to work."
Zhong Liang pondered Yu Yin's suggestion. He was also a former reconnaissance soldier and had already observed the environment upon entering.
The yard was large, with vegetables growing there and some play equipment for children. The children were very polite, with innocent eyes, and Zhong Ling didn't seem to mind. Most importantly, the woman of the house was emotionally stable, which put people at ease.
“My younger sister has been dexterous since she was little and learns things quickly. After our mother passed away, she was forced to learn many skills. Cooking, sewing, washing clothes... The doctor also said not to treat her differently and to let her adapt to the environment.”
"Boss Yu, let me ask my sister. If she wants to stay and work for your company, I'll accept this assistant job. I'm leaving Zhong Ling in your care. I hope she can get through this soon and return to a normal life."
Zhong Liang stood up, gave Yu Yin a military salute, and then, perhaps remembering that he had already retired from the military, bowed to Yu Yin again.
In his ambition to get ahead, he joined the army, leaving his younger sister to fend for herself under their stepmother's care. Unexpectedly, this seemingly respectable man turned out to be utterly despicable.
He felt guilty. If he hadn't joined the army and had stayed with his sister, would those terrible things have happened to her?
"Okay, go and talk to Zhong Ling."
Zhong Liang went to ask his sister, but he didn't know if she would like the job.
"Yu Yin, is this arrangement alright? Will it have any negative effects?"
Liang Chao also sympathized with Zhong Ling's plight, but he was closer to Yu Yin and her family.
"It should be fine. The girl has clear eyes, somewhat similar to the post-traumatic stress disorder you encountered in the military. Her condition doesn't seem serious, and she should recover."
Looking at Zhong Ling, Yu Yin thought of her past self, and also of her older brother, who had always taken care of her. Since Zhong Ling wasn't aggressive, she thought that if she could help her, perhaps her fate would be different.
"That's true, they're too young!"
Liang Chao also has a daughter. If his daughter encounters something bad, he will pray that a kind person will lend a helping hand!
Yu Yin knew that the educated youth were a product of their time, and it was impossible to judge them as right or wrong, just like every dynasty had its problems. There were good aspects and bad aspects; it was just a matter of which one outweighed the other.
Yu Yin and Liang Chao discussed the situation of the wasteland. Zhong Liang and Zhong Ling came over together, but An An and the others didn't come along, knowing that their mother was talking about serious matters.
"Boss Yu, Zhong Ling has agreed to stay and work here."
"Hello Mr. Yu... I can cook, do laundry, and even sew... I will work hard."
Although Zhong Ling was still a little nervous, she paused twice in the middle of her sentence, but she still managed to express her meaning clearly.
Zhong Ling understood that her brother had sacrificed his future for her sake; he was over twenty and still didn't have a home of his own. She had to try her best not to be a burden to her brother, because they, as siblings, needed to have happiness; otherwise, their mother in heaven would not rest in peace.
Zhong Ling genuinely liked Boss Yu's house; it didn't feel oppressive to her and made her feel very comfortable.
"Zhong Ling, is it alright if you live alone?"
"Sure, I like living alone."
