Chapter 151 I Believe in You

Chapter 151 I Believe in You

Guan Yan pursed her lips, frowned, and remained silent, clearly resistant.

Seeing the tense atmosphere, the hospital director stepped in to smooth things over: "Officers, this mental evaluation was conducted at my hospital. I can assure you that the other party's mental condition is indeed worrying. It is almost impossible to interrogate her."

“I’m not going to interrogate her, I’m just going to chat with her.”

Junyuan said sincerely, "I've met your daughter once before, so perhaps she won't be so resistant to me. Things have to be resolved, right?"

Guan Yan sighed, "Then you can come with me. I require that I be present the whole time."

They pushed open the door.

Junyuan and Guan Zhiwei locked eyes.

Guan Zhiwei threw off the covers, leaned forward, and almost stood up.

Holy crap, it's come back to life!

He approached the bedside, right next to the window. Sunlight fell on his short hair, jacket, and jeans, making him look tall, slender, and very capable.

"Do you remember me? We've met before."

This is Junyuan's opening statement.

Guan Zhiwei thought to herself, "I've not only seen you, I've also killed you. What's wrong with the system? What's it up to? What kind of conspiracy is it plotting?"

"You are Zhi Junyuan."

"No, my name is Junyuan, and my surname is Jun. That's quite rare, isn't it? You must have confused me with that police officer. His surname is Zhi, and his name is Zhifang." Junyuan didn't rush to ask questions but chatted like a friend.

He pointed to Zhifang.

Zhifang is setting up a video recorder, and the entire conversation that follows will be recorded.

Compared to her earlier surprise at Jun Yuan, Guan Zhiwei looked at him with a long face. This guy is so annoying.

Jun Yuan laughed and said, "It seems that Officer Zhi is not as popular as I am."

Guan Zhiwei scoffed, "I'm on a diet, I don't like fat."

Zhi Fang, his face stern, asked in a deep voice, "Do you remember what you did?!"

This one sentence instantly wiped out the friendly atmosphere that had been created.

Guan Yan involuntarily stepped in front of her daughter, a wrinkle already etched between her brows, making her appear both resentful and indignant.

"Mom is okay, Officer Jun, I need to call the police, I've been kidnapped."

The three of them froze upon hearing Guan Zhiwei's words.

Junyuan quickly asked, "Who kidnapped you?"

"I've been kidnapped by the system!"

Guan Zhiwei swore to the heavens: "I know what I'm about to say might be absurd, but it's all true. May I die a horrible death if I'm lying!"

She recounted her experience.

The system kept deceiving her, saying that she could go home as long as she completed the walkthrough.

She said she tried to find a way to go home time and time again.

She spoke of her repeated moments of despair.

It is said that in order to return home, she even tried to become an empress and fought a long war.

They said she was finally back.

"I chopped a hole in my head, then pried it open. I reached in and pulled out something, I don't know, like a bunch of broken rubber bands!"

All three of them just looked at her, and the mother's eyes were filled with heartache.

Guan Zhiwei smiled bitterly: "You don't believe me, do you? But it's true! I also think it's unreal that a person's head can be split open and they can still live, but I've died so many times! I've experienced all the unreal things!"

Junyuan suddenly said, "I believe you."

Zhi Fang frowned and looked at him with disapproval.

Guan Zhi smiled and said, "The little general is as adorable as ever."

"Am I part of your world too?"

"Yes, I've given you a high-ranking official position and treated you very well." Guan Zhiwei thought to herself, I'm not stupid. I will never tell you that I killed you and your son.

"You're so good to me, can you tell me more about that incident?" Junyuan pulled up a chair and sat down on the edge of the bed, ready for a long talk.

He had long legs, a powerful-looking waist, his hands crossed on his knees, and his body slightly leaning forward. He had a very sturdy physique, paired with an adorable baby face.

"Actually, I'm more interested in Lady Feng from your world. Why haven't you mentioned her since you became emperor?"

Guan Zhiwei frowned and said, "I don't like interfering in other people's lives. She lives her life, and I live mine."

Jun Yuan nodded: "But when Guan Huaihuai was being protected, you intervened. Does that mean you think you can protect Guan Huaihuai, but not Madam Feng?"

Guan Zhiwei was taken aback.

"Officer Jun, that's enough, that's enough!" Guan Yan could no longer bear it.

Junyuan paused for a moment, then said, "Excuse me, I have something else to ask."

"What else do you want to ask? Don't play dumb here!" Zhi Fang became impatient and suddenly rushed over and opened the door. Without the door blocking the way, the noise from outside poured in.

You have to pass through three layers of gates and layers of security to leave this place.

There is always a mixed smell in the air.

Almost everyone had a blank expression, hunched over, and behaved strangely, walking past the door again and again.

A television was hanging on the wall at the far end, and several people were playing cards in small groups.

"Do you know why they look so blank? It's because they have to take medication every day to control their mental state. This medication prevents them from having relapses, but it gradually makes them dull and forgetful. One second you're holding something, the next you've forgotten what you were doing! If you've committed a serious crime, you'll have to take this medication here for the rest of your life, living like a ghost! Is there any point in living like that? You'll end up just like them. Even if you escape legal punishment, you'll spend the rest of your life here treating mental illness, and you'll suffer terribly! It's completely meaningless!"

"Enough! I'm going to file a complaint against you! I'm going to file a complaint against you!"

Guan Yan rushed over and closed the door, forcefully squeezing out her tears and wiping them away. Then she turned around, took out a white-wrapped report from her backpack, and said sternly, "This is a 'criminal responsibility assessment' commissioned by a qualified judicial appraisal institution. My daughter is not capable of bearing any criminal responsibility. Now, please stop this unnecessary interrogation and stop putting any more mental pressure on my daughter! Get out!"

Guan Zhiwei exclaimed in surprise, "I have a mental illness? Is the system out of its mind? No matter how I insult it, it labels me with all sorts of accusations. My logic is clear, my IQ is on point, where do you see me as mentally ill? I'm really being held hostage by the system! How can I prove this to you? My combat strength is 100, yes, yes, we'll find out if we fight!"

"Stop pretending to be crazy!"

That's enough.

Junyuan stopped Zhifang, and the two of them packed their things and left.

Even after leaving, Zhi Fang continued to ramble on: "I'm not like you, a top student who graduated from a prestigious university, but I've been a police auxiliary officer for over thirty years. I can smell what kind of person she is and what kind of smell she has."

Junyuan said, "Then we still have to follow the procedures."
