Chapter 30 Aunt, brother, I've been beaten up!

Chu Qiuyue covered her face and cried as she returned to the manor. She entered Aunt Zhao's courtyard without any hindrance.

Aunt Zhao was sitting on the swing set in the yard with her two children, basking in the sun. When she saw Chu Qiuyue return, she asked indifferently, "Why did you take so long? Quickly take the medicine to the small kitchen and brew it for your brother."

"Auntie—"

Chu Qiuyue choked back tears, revealing her swollen and red face.

When Aunt Zhao saw the handprint on her face, she quickly stood up and asked, "What happened? Who hit you?"

While crying, Chu Qiuyue told Aunt Zhao what had just happened, and added at the end, "Auntie, I didn't mean to not give her the money, I just felt it was unfair."

"That pharmacy was clearly opened with my mother's money, and the things in the shop should belong to my mother. Why should I have to pay for things that belong to my own family?"

"I don't want to give Shen Yuan money. She killed my mother. I hate her!"

After listening to everything, Aunt Zhao sat back down on the swing set and slowly straightened her sleeves.

“Qiuyue, you’re being too impulsive! You say your mother was driven to her death by her, but do you have any evidence? Everyone in your village thinks your mother did something wrong first, and she was just an innocent bystander. Your mother’s suicide has nothing to do with her.”

"You say the money she used to open the pharmacy was given to her by your mother, but do you have any evidence? You have neither an IOU nor any proof, and you just stand in front of her shop shouting without any proof. Do you think anyone will believe you? She can sue you for defamation!"

"Trying to take down the other party before you have enough ability is foolish! Since you're going to be working for me from now on, I hope you won't do something so stupid again!"

Chu Qiuyue thought that Aunt Zhao would stand up for her and lead the servants to beat up Shen Yuan, but she didn't expect that her own aunt would scold her after seeing her being beaten.

Not only that, she also called her stupid!

This made Chu Qiuyue feel even more wronged, and she couldn't help but cry out, "Auntie, am I just going to let her hit me for nothing? Why did she hit me? Waaah!"

Consider this slap a lesson learned.

Aunt Zhao's youngest daughter was frightened by Chu Qiuyue's crying and kept crying. Aunt Zhao was too lazy to argue with Chu Qiuyue anymore. She picked up her youngest daughter and said to Chu Qiuyue, "Since you are injured, take the medicine to your sister to make. You don't need to work these days. Take a good rest!"

After saying that, Aunt Zhao lowered her head and coaxed her youngest daughter, "Don't cry, little girl, Mother will take you back to your room."

Watching Aunt Zhao carry her daughter into the house, Chu Qiuyue's eyes were red, and her hands, hanging at her sides, were clenched into fists so tightly that her fingernails left several red marks on her palms.

He's spouting a bunch of useless platitudes, isn't it just that he doesn't want to stand up for her?

After all, she wasn't her biological daughter. If her own daughter had been beaten by Shen Yuan, Aunt Zhao would have stormed the pharmacy on the spot. The only problem was that her own mother, who could protect her, was no longer there!

Thinking of this, Chu Qiuyue's hatred intensified. Her mother was killed by Shen Yuan!

Chu Qiuyue gave the medicine to Chu Chunhua, and after Chu Chunhua finished decocting it, she personally carried the medicine bowl to Chu Yuning's bedside.

"Brother, it's time to get up and take your medicine!"

Chu Qiuyue helped Chu Yuning up. Chu Yuning leaned against the bed with a haggard face. When she looked up, she saw Chu Qiuyue's swollen face.

Seeing her younger sister beaten like this, Chu Yuning hurriedly asked, "What happened to your face? Who hit you?"

As Chu Yuning spoke, she was about to get out of bed, looking as if she was about to raise her fist to vent her anger for her sister.

Chu Qiuyue sobbed, "It's Shen Yuan!"

Chu Yuning paused in her movement to get out of bed.

Why is it Shen Yuan again?

Thinking of his disheveled state in the prison cell a few days ago, Chu Yuning looked pale. The food that Shen Yuan brought him that day was clearly drugged!

But why did she drug him? And why did she tell him about Old Master Murong?

Does she hate him, or does she love him?

Chu Yuning felt that she couldn't quite understand Shen Yuan.

Chu Yuning sat down by the bed, tenderly touching the bruises on Chu Qiuyue's face, and asked, "Where did you meet her? Why did she hit you?"

Chu Yuning originally wanted to show concern for his younger sister, but to his surprise, as soon as he asked the question, Chu Qiuyue seemed to have a nerve pricked and slapped his hand away.

"Why again! Why are you like my aunt, always asking why? The point is, why did she hit me? The point is clearly that she hit me, and no matter what the reason, she has no right to hit me!"

Chu Yuning was somewhat displeased to see Chu Qiuyue throwing a tantrum.

But when he thought of his younger sister who had lost her mother at a young age, he couldn't bear to scold her.

Chu Yuning coaxed, "Once your brother becomes an apprentice of Elder Murong, he will definitely avenge you!"

"Really?" Chu Qiuyue smiled through her tears, looking at Chu Yuning with hopeful eyes.

Chu Yuning nodded emphatically. Once he officially became the last disciple of Elder Murong, the revenge he would take would not be limited to just Shen Yuan. He would make the entire Ziyun Academy and everyone who had ever looked down on him or neglected him pay the price!

As the brother and sister were talking, a maid suddenly walked in from outside the door.

It was Cuiyun, the head maidservant of Aunt Zhao. She curtsied to Chu Yuning and said, "Young Master Chu, Master composed a poem today and has specially invited you to come and appreciate it. Madam wants you to change your clothes quickly and come with me to the study!"

"Brother, your uncle wants you to come over, hurry up and go!" Chu Qiuyue urged excitedly.

She knew that Master Wang valued her brother highly. If her brother could gain Master Wang's support, then she would have more than just an aunt to rely on in the Master Wang's mansion.
