The physician nodded: "Yes, Madam. The old lady will wake up on her own after a short rest. I will prescribe some blood-tonifying and qi-boosting medicine for her. Once she wakes up, I will decoct it for her to drink. She will recover in a few days."
Hearing this, Jiang was not very happy: "But I think Mother looks very ill. She just vomited a lot of blood, and my heart is still pounding."
Hearing Jiang say this, the family physician turned to look at Shen Wei and the others in the ancestral hall, "Just now, did someone help the old lady relax her muscles and remove blood stasis?"
"It was her!" Shen Yunjin pointed at Shen Yuan and said in a loud voice, "It was she who threw my grandmother on the ground, stuck several needles in her, and made my grandmother vomit a lot of blood!"
"It was this young lady who saved the old lady?"
The physician looked in the direction Shen Yunjin was pointing and saw a face that looked very similar to Shen Yunjin's. However, compared to Shen Yunjin, her skin was yellowish and her eyes and brows had a more resolute and composed look.
The physician asked, "Who is this young lady...?"
"She is the eldest daughter of the Shen family, whom the general just brought back. Her given name is Yuan."
The physician hurriedly bowed to Shen Yuan, saying, "Greetings, Miss. You are so young yet possess such medical skills; I truly admire you!"
Shen Yuan humbly returned the greeting: "You flatter me, senior."
"What do you mean by that?" Shen Yunjin stared at the physician in confusion, her eyes barely concealing her anger.
The physician explained, "It was all thanks to the young lady's acupuncture that the old lady's chest cavity was expelled. Otherwise, if the blood had flowed through her heart and lungs and blocked her vital points, she might have suffocated! It was the young lady who saved her!"
"What did you say? How is that possible?"
Shen Yunjin didn't believe it.
But Shen Wei grabbed Shen Yuan's hand and laughed loudly, "It was Yuan Yuan who saved Mother! Yuan Yuan is truly a lucky star for our General's Mansion!"
Lucky Star?
Upon hearing these two words, Jiang Shi and Shen Yunjin's expressions changed.
Does this wild girl deserve to be the lucky star of the General's Mansion?
Shen Yuan had no feelings for the man in front of her who was very likely her biological father, so when she saw Shen Wei grab her hand, she frowned slightly and then pulled her hand back.
Shen Wei noticed Shen Yuan's resistance, and a hint of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
However, he quickly rallied. He had missed seventeen years of Shen Yuan's life, so it was understandable that Shen Yuan resented him.
Fortunately, she has now been found and will have many days ahead of her in the General's Mansion.
He will make it up to his daughter and give her the best of everything.
On the other side, Shen Yunjin grabbed the physician's sleeve, "She just stuck a needle into my forehead, almost causing facial paralysis! How could she possibly save my grandmother?"
The physician glanced at Shen Yunjin's slightly red brow and said, "She needled your Yintang acupoint. Stimulating this acupoint can clear the mind and brighten the eyes. It won't cause facial paralysis. Second Miss, have you misunderstood something?"
"No, she is..."
Shen Yunjin wanted to argue, but when she saw Shen Yuan raise an eyebrow at her, she immediately realized what was going on.
There's no such thing as facial paralysis. Shen Yuan was just trying to scare her so she wouldn't dare to move!
She's playing a trick on her!
Shen Yunjin wanted to rush forward immediately and tear off Shen Yuan's hypocritical face, but she was stopped by Jiang Shi.
Seeing Shen Wei's gloomy face, Madam Jiang immediately pulled Shen Yunjin aside: "Since Mother is out of danger, Jin'er and I will go and help prepare the medicine. Mother can drink it when she wakes up!"
After saying that, she ignored Shen Yunjin's struggles and pulled her away from the ancestral hall.
Shen Qingshu and Shen Changshu followed closely behind.
Seeing that the matter had been resolved, Shen Yuan curtsied, took her leave, and departed.
After returning to Lingyun Pavilion, Shen Yuan felt a little tired. She asked her maid to remove the jewels from her head, took off her outer clothes, and went to bed for a comfortable nap.
I slept until sunset in the afternoon.
When Shen Yuan woke up, the maid had already prepared dinner.
For the time being, she didn't have to sit down to eat with the whole Shen family; she could eat by herself, which Shen Yuan thought was great.
However, there were just too many dishes delivered at each meal, ten dishes and two soups every day. Shen Yuan couldn't possibly finish them all by herself. She wanted the maids to eat with her, but she knew that these maids were used to the rules and would definitely not dare to eat at the same table with her.
So Shen Yuan thought for a moment and said to the maids, "From now on, you don't need to wait for meals in the servants' quarters. After I finish eating, you can finish the food to avoid waste."
The maids were overjoyed to hear this.
Although the food on the table was all leftovers, it was still much tastier than the meals served to the servants! The servants in the General's Mansion only had two dishes per meal, one meat and one vegetable, plus a bowl of clear soup, all cooked in a large pot, and the taste was so-so.
But the food served to the masters was different; it included chicken, duck, fish, and meat, and the taste was absolutely superb.
Moreover, although the food on the table was leftover, the maids always served the food to their masters using serving chopsticks, so there was a lot of leftovers. Therefore, when the maids heard Shen Yuan say this, they immediately thanked her happily.
There are five maids and two servants in Shen Yuan's courtyard.
Shen Yuan ate very quickly. After she finished eating, the food was still warm, so she asked the maids and servants to sit down and eat.
As for Xiao Ling, Shen Yuan had prepared a meal in advance and had it delivered to his room.
After dinner, it was completely dark.
Shen Yuan had slept soundly during the day and couldn't fall asleep at all. She sent the maid away and sat alone by the waterside pavilion, staring blankly at the moon reflected in the water.
A moment later, footsteps suddenly came from behind.
