Chapter 64 Am I disturbing you?
Fu family study.
Fu Mingsheng stood in front of Mr. Fu, pursed his lips and said nothing.
He pinched the teacup and blew gently, causing the cool tea to ripple slightly. He took a sip and placed the teacup lightly on the mahogany table beside him.
"Mingsheng, I know you're blaming me for breaking off our engagement with Yanzhi privately. If you need an apology, I apologize."
He placed his hands on his knees and sighed, finally understanding why Fu Mingsheng had asked him to investigate Lu Xingyu's birth date. "The deal Yanzhi offered will ensure our Fu family becomes one of the wealthy families in Beijing. Besides, haven't you and Xingyu ever lived together?"
"Grandpa, it was Xingyu this time, but what about next time? If he makes a deal with you again next time, the people around me will have to make way for you again?" Fu Mingsheng's chest heaved.
"Mingsheng!" Old Master Fu was intimidating without even getting angry.
He is gentle as jade and never talks back, but he disobeyed me for the sake of his fiancée of just a few days.
"Mingsheng, when Yanzhi came here to make a deal with me that day, he briefly mentioned his past with Xingyu. Do you know why Xingyu didn't sleep in the same room with you when you were staying at the Fu family's house that day?"
Fu Mingsheng frowned slightly, "Why?"
"Yanzhi asked her to change rooms. Since she agreed, it means she doesn't have any feelings for you. Forced marriages don't work. You should know what happened between them, right?"
He acquiesced, his hands hanging at his sides slowly curling up, and he bit his back teeth.
Should he wish them a long and happy marriage? He couldn't quite do that.
Fu Mingsheng, "Grandpa, I understand. I won't embarrass you in the future."
"You are my immediate family member, my grandson, and the head of the Fu family. I have always considered your perspective. As for your future partner, we can choose a daughter from another wealthy family who suits our eyes."
He nodded, "Got it, Grandpa."
Seeing him turn around so swiftly, Mr. Fu's heart couldn't help but skip a beat.
--
Summer Palace.
As soon as Lu Xingyu got home from get off work, she heard a series of strange yet familiar sounds coming from the kitchen.
She pretended to be calm as she changed her shoes at the entrance. She looked inside and heard the servant call out, "Miss Lu is back."
Lu Xingyu walked forward and saw Zhu Qimeng wearing a champagne gold shirt and white trousers. She wiped her hands and walked out of the kitchen with a gentle smile on her face. She didn't look like a big shot speaking on the evening news channel at all.
She suppressed her inner nervousness and uneasiness and greeted, "Hello, Auntie."
"Xingyu." Zhu Qimeng glanced behind her, then looked away. "Where's Ayan? Didn't he come back with you?"
Lu Xingyu shook her head. "She asked the driver to take me home first, and she went to the Fu family."
Zhu Qimeng nodded in understanding, "I just happened to pass by here today, so I came in for a meal."
She said politely, "Auntie, you're just in time."
"Then go wash your hands first, and you can have dinner soon."
Lu Xingyu fled the scene, walked into the bathroom on the first floor and locked the door.
Oh my god, Liang Yanzhi's mother is here! My heart is about to jump out of my throat.
She immediately sent a message to Liang Yanzhi.
Lu Xingyu took a deep breath, dipped her hands in some cold water and splashed it on her face to sober herself up.
When she came out again, Liang Yanzhi was changing his shoes at the entrance. Their eyes met, their gazes meeting in the air. He waved his phone, and Lu Xingyu opened the screen and read: [Don't be nervous, leave it to me.]
He walked into the kitchen in slippers and took the dish from Zhu Qimeng's hand. "Boss, how come you have time to come today? Don't you need to stay home and take care of your husband?"
Zhu Qimeng patted his shoulder. "What about you? I heard Xingyu say you went to the Fu family? Why? Didn't they invite you to dinner?"
Liang Yanzhi: "Not to my taste."
The three of them sat down.
There were six dishes and a soup on the table. Lu Xingyu and Zhu Qimeng sat face to face. Her heart was beating fast and she was not at peace at all.
I don’t dare to eat shrimp because it affects my image.
I don't dare open my mouth too wide, it will affect my image.
I don’t dare to speak loudly, as it will affect my image.
Even when the Persian cat was lying on the back of her feet, she remained indifferent, fearing that it would attract Zhu Qimeng's attention in the next second.
Liang Yanzhi noticed her nervousness, so he helped her peel the crabs and shrimps, dipped them in some vinegar, and first gave them to Zhu Qimeng, then to Lu Xingyu, and filled her soup bowl with black chicken soup.
A doting voice rang out in the quiet air, "Eat slowly."
Zhu Qimeng interjected, a smile on her face, "Did I disturb you?"
Liang Yanzhi's brows tightened, "The leader is here to inspect our work, so I won't disturb him."
He has his own way of getting along with his parents. His words and actions are full of the affection between mother and son, and the scale is just right.
"Thank you, Mr. Liang, for your hospitality despite your busy schedule."
The conversation between the two made Lu Xingyu curl up the corners of her mouth unconsciously. It was humorous yet decent. This was the family relationship model she dreamed of, but it would never happen.
Zhu Qimeng saw her smile and asked, "Xingyu, is your work going well recently?"
Lu Xingyu raised her eyes to look at him, her almond eyes full of joy, "Yeah, it's good."
Liang Yanzhi, who was sitting in the main seat, took out a piece of paper and helped her wipe the black chicken soup from the corner of her mouth, then put the tissue on the table.
Her cheeks flushed uncontrollably.
"As long as everything goes well, I have nothing to do here today, so you don't need to be nervous." Zhu Qimeng said slowly.
The tension in Lu Xingyu's heart finally loosened and then broke.
"Yes, okay, Auntie."
After talking it out.
The conversation between the few people became much more relaxed afterwards. They took the initiative to pass the topic to Lu Xingyu, who took it very well and was the kind of junior that all the elders liked.
After a meal.
Lu Xingyu thought that Zhu Qimeng must have something to say to Liang Yanzhi alone, so when she stood up and prepared to go upstairs, she found Tiantian still lying on the back of her feet, and suddenly a "meow~" sound came from the ground.
Lu Xingyu leaned forward and threw herself into Liang Yanzhi's arms. He quickly supported her and asked in a low voice, "Are you okay?"
Embarrassment and shyness swept over him, and his face flushed.
"fine."
"Xingyu, are you okay?"
"Auntie, I'm fine."
She let go of Liang Yanzhi's hand, calmed down her expression and walked upstairs.
Shame! So shameful!
The Persian cat watched Lu Xingyu walk upstairs, and its small figure followed behind her, as if it knew that it had done something wrong.
Liang Yanzhi withdrew his gaze only after hearing the sound of the door closing on the second floor.
"Mom, tell me, what's the matter?"
Zhu Qimeng put down her chopsticks and turned serious in an instant. "Grandpa already knows that you two are living together. I've investigated Xingyu's family background. I came here to give you a heads-up."
Liang Yanzhi, "Thank you, Mom."
"What are you doing at the Fu family? Is Grandpa in good health recently? If you have any conflicts with your cousin Mingsheng, just explain them clearly. He has a kind personality and will understand."
"It's indeed kind."
Liang Yanzhi didn't say the subsequent words, but Zhu Qimeng guessed something.
"In short, just don't let Xingyu's affairs affect the relationship between you two."
Zhu Qimeng stood up and left, glancing upstairs. "I'm going back first. Go check on Xingyu."
Liang Yanzhi nodded and gave a final shot of prevention, "Mom, if one day someone does something to let Xingyu down, no matter who it is, I will not let them go."
