Chapter 159 I Want to Wash First

Chapter 159 I Want to Wash First

Jian Yao snorted and looked down at her toes.

"If he and my sister really get together, what will we call each other in the future?"

Pei Yi usually calls her Brother Gu and Sister-in-law.

We can't just shout at our own people, right?

She asked Pei Yi to call him brother-in-law, and Pei Yi asked her to call her sister-in-law?

Jian Yao felt that the scene was too funny just by thinking about it.

Gu Zhiyan remained silent.

After a moment, he turned his head to look at her, "It seems that you are in a good mood now. You are even willing to make jokes."

Jian Yao hummed, "As expected."

Gu Zhiyan: "Really what?"

Jian Yao stood on tiptoe with her hands behind her back and raised her eyebrows at him, "It turned out to be Pei Yi who leaked the information."

She came out temporarily today to visit a patient. She had no makeup on and her soft hair was casually dishevelled.

A breeze blew by, and a few strands of hair on the top of the head were blown up by the wind, looking so cute.

Gu Zhiyan raised his hand to tidy up her messy hair, "Don't pay attention to her crazy words. If you really care and get angry, she will succeed."

Jian Yao nodded, "Yeah."

Assistant Xu drove over.

Gu Zhiyan opened the car door and let Jian Yao get in first, and then he got in himself.

The car door closed, and Gu Zhiyan ordered in a cold voice, "Go directly to Yaoguang."

Although Jian Yao looks fine now, she was a little scared today.

He was afraid that if she stayed alone in Gu Garden, her emotions would relapse when she calmed down.

It was already past ten o'clock when they arrived at the company. Gu Zhiyan did not take her to the cafeteria, but asked Assistant Xu to bring back food.

Braised eel, sweet and sour pork tenderloin, vegetarian braised Chinese cabbage, and a serving of pork rib soup.

Gu Zhiyan first served Jian Yao a bowl of soup, "You'll feel better if you drink something hot."

Jian Yao knew that this soup was meant to "surprise" her, so she picked up the bowl and took a sip.

When I looked up, I could just see Gu Zhiyan eating across from me.

It was obvious that he was well brought up. He ate neither too fast nor too slow, without making any noise, and there was almost no sound of the bowl and chopsticks colliding.

Jian Yao actually had no appetite, and fearing that he would worry, she barely ate half of her usual amount before putting down her chopsticks.

Gu Zhiyan took a look and said nothing, then called Assistant Xu to come and clean up the dishes.

After dinner, Gu Zhiyan went to a meeting, and Jian Yao randomly picked a book from the bookshelf in his office to read.

He must have specifically instructed that except for Assistant Xu who came in at around three o'clock to deliver coffee and dessert, no one else came in.

Jian Yao stayed in Gu Zhiyan's lounge reading for the entire afternoon.

It was not until five o'clock in the afternoon when Gu Zhiyan knocked on the door of the lounge after get off work that I followed him back.

On the way back, they stopped by for a sauerkraut fish hotpot. The steaming heat and the bustling crowd made Jian Yao feel much better.

When I came out of the hot pot restaurant and returned to Gu Garden, the sky had already become completely dark.

The garden lights in the yard gradually lit up, and they didn't even turn on the lights along the way, and went directly from the porch to the master bedroom using the light from the yard.

Jian Yao put on her pajamas and went into the bathroom. The hot water poured down, washing away the smoky smell that remained on her body when she was eating hot pot.

After she washed up, she changed her clothes and went out.

Gu Zhiyan was on the phone by the window. When he saw her coming out, he lifted his eyelids and looked over here. "There's some freshly heated milk on the table."

Jian Yao hummed, sat down on the sofa, and sipped from the cup.

Gu Zhiyan seemed to be talking about business. She only vaguely heard the words "investment company withdraws capital" and then hung up.

Perhaps out of consideration for her mood, Gu Zhiyan slept peacefully, without even moving his hands. He just held her and stroked her back gently as if he was coaxing a child.

However, Jian Yao did not sleep well that night.

Many distant memories poured out of my brain like a flood with the gates opened.

Sometimes, the bloody face of young Lu Chengze flashed before her eyes; sometimes, she saw the old dean holding her hand before his death, asking her to be a good boy after returning to the Jian family; sometimes, she saw her parents' mourning hall, where she and her sister knelt on the ground and cried, everything in sight was white.

Finally, Mrs. Lu pointed at her nose with a vicious look and scolded her for killing her parents.

Jian Yao felt as if she was trapped in a cold pond, freezing to the bone, unable to break free and unable to escape.

"Yaoyao."

"Yaoyao?"

In her daze, she could feel someone touching the temperature of her forehead, brushing fingers across her cheeks, and calling her name softly.

The consciousness that was about to sink to the bottom of the pool seemed to be suddenly awakened, and it struggled violently until a ray of light flooded into its eyes, and Jian Yao opened his eyes with great effort.

Her head felt heavy as if a huge rock had fallen on it, and even her breathing was hot.

It was bright outside. Gu Zhiyan was sitting beside her bed. Seeing that she had woken up, he held the quilt to her lips and said, "You have a fever. Drink some water first, and then take the medicine after you eat."

Jian Yao stood up with the support of her arms, and Gu Zhiyan took a pillow and placed it behind her.

After taking a sip of water, the dry and astringent throat finally felt much better.

Jian Yao took the cup from Gu Zhiyan and took another sip. "I promised yesterday that I would go to grandma's place today."

Gu Zhiyan raised his hand to help her pull the quilt, "It's okay, I'll call grandma later."

Jian Yao then lowered her head to drink water with peace of mind. After drinking a cup of hot water, the bone-chilling coldness in her dream seemed to have subsided a lot.

Gu Zhiyan took the cup from her hand, looked up at her, and whispered, "Do you want more?"

Jian Yao shook her head.

Gu Zhiyan put down the cup and said, "Then I'll get you some porridge? The vegetable porridge cooked by Wang Ma herself, or the shredded chicken noodles?"

Jian Yao held her stomach, feeling a little sore and bloated, and soon a hot stream gushed out.

She pursed her lips and said, "I want to go wash first..."

In the bathroom, she looked at the scattered red spots on her underwear and let out a sigh of relief.

Her aunt was always wrong, and this time it seemed even more wrong.

With a fever and her period, Jian Yao felt like she would faint just thinking about it.

She took a quick hot shower, packed up and went out.

Gu Zhiyan sat on the sofa, looking down at his cell phone, apparently sending a message, with a bowl of steaming porridge in front of him.

He seemed to be particularly busy these past two days. He never handled official business in his private space before, and would go to the study when he had something to do.

Hearing footsteps, Gu Zhiyan turned around holding his phone and saw that her face was pale. He frowned, stood up and sat her down, "I should have let you eat first."

He casually threw his black-screened phone aside, picked up the bowl and fed her with a spoon. The food was just the right amount of saltiness and temperature.

Normally, Jian Yao would have taken it and eaten it herself, but after taking a shower, she seemed to have lost all her strength and even raising her hands was extremely difficult.

I ate the porridge and took the medicine in a daze.

Gu Zhiyan carried her back to the bed and wrapped her in the quilt.

Jian Yao didn't know when she fell asleep, and when she woke up, the sun was already setting.

Gu Zhiyan did not go to work. He lay on the bed with her in his home clothes, and in his dream, one of his hands was tightly holding her wrist.

Perhaps the medicine was taking effect, Jian Yao felt much better. She stared at Gu Zhiyan's profile for a long time before she gently pried open his wrists.

After sleeping for so long, she should change her sanitary napkin.

However, after a moment, Jian Yao was stunned when she saw the sanitary napkin that was only slightly red.
