Chapter 15 Small Mecha

Everyone on the ship suddenly became busy. Georgia, who was originally able to move freely, was restricted to a certain area. His teachers were also changed from Lin Zhen and Tan Shengwei to two other less busy logistics staff members.

Ever since he knew that the white-haired monster and his entourage were soldiers, Georgia had learned to play blind and deaf and to obey orders without asking too many questions. He was now a person being taken in, and everyone was nice to him because they were kind-hearted. If he was ignorant of the immensity of the world and acted recklessly because of this, that would not be good.

The new teachers were all older, good-tempered uncles who taught very dedicatedly. Seeing that Georgia learned quickly and was well behaved, they liked him very much. Besides teaching, they tried to tell him more about the lives of ordinary residents in the Federation, hoping that he would have a general impression of the outside world in advance so that he could better integrate into the society in the future.

Georgia was very grateful for this, and in order to repay their kindness, she began to help them with some chores within the scope of their permission and to the best of her ability, such as helping to clean special areas with a cleaning robot, learning to distribute ingredients in the kitchen, helping to transport things and maintain equipment, etc.

A diligent and well-behaved kid is the easiest to please everyone. Georgia quickly got acquainted with the people in the logistics department and sent out another batch of small gifts that she made on a whim. A few days later, when the logistics department suddenly became busy, Georgia was stopped by a gray-haired old man in the kitchen utility room.

"I heard you are very strong?" the old man asked with a serious face. Although he had just seen him lift a machine that even a household robot could not lift, there was still a hint of disbelief and suspicion in his eyes when he looked at his thin arms.

Georgia wiped the sweat from her forehead with her sleeve, making her smooth bangs stick together. She ignored the old man's suspicious gaze and nodded with a smile: "Yes, I'm still strong enough. Grandpa, is there anything I can help you with? I happen to be free."

The old man's face twitched when he was called "Grandpa". He glanced at him and motioned for him to follow him: "I have something for you to move. Come with me."

Georgia responded, turned around to say hello to the people in the kitchen utility area, and happily followed the old man.

Everyone in the kitchen: "..." Oh my god! Why did old man Ren from the Mecha Management Department come to the kitchen to ask for help? Where are the large transport equipment in the management department? Are they broken? They actually need a child to carry things? Human work?

The air was silent for two seconds. The kitchen supervisor who brought Georgia here hesitated for a moment and suggested, "How about we go talk to Old Man Ren and ask him to bring Joe back?"

Everyone looked at each other, then took a step back and shook their heads frantically - no, no, no, don't blame them for being disloyal. They want people from old man Ren. Maybe they think they have lived too long? Qiao is so cute, she should, should not be bullied.

"Then..." The kitchen supervisor wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and gritted his teeth: "I'll give Qiao an extra steak tonight!"

Everyone: “…”

Georgia followed the old man into an area he had never been to before. Along the way, they passed two doors that required identification to enter, and saw several groups of serious soldiers passing by. Finally, they arrived at a hall that was larger than the dwarf sacrificial square.

"So impressive..." His eyes were so bright that they almost glowed as he looked at the various instruments and workbenches densely spread out in the hall towards the distance, as well as the piles of scattered parts and people moving around.

If he was not mistaken, these parts should have been removed from those metal giants, that is, the mechas! He would never mistake the shape of the elbow joint! And the foot——

"Shut up and follow me." The old man spoke, interrupting his sigh.

He came back to his senses and hurriedly followed the old man inside, but his eyes were looking around uncontrollably.

Not only people, but also various robots shuttled through the hall, helping humans to handle some trivial matters. Judging from everyone's actions, they should be working together to test the performance of parts. The hall was not quiet, with the sound of instruments, human voices, and metal collisions mixed together, but there was a strange sense of harmony and beauty in it, as if everything here was born this way.

He thought of the tribesmen working hard outside the dwarf smelting furnace, and a sense of pride rose in his heart - the same, all the same, everyone has the same love for machinery and creation! He was proud of himself for loving machinery!

There were faint traces of some strange energy factors in the air. He suppressed his excitement, carefully distinguished them, and was surprised again.

It was actually mental power! All the people working here actually released their mental power, instead of locking their mental power tightly in their bodies in their daily lives like the white-haired monster and his group, and trying not to release it.

Lin Zhen had told him before that releasing mental power out of the body at will was a very rude and dangerous act, but in this hall, everyone had no scruples at all and released their mental power freely!

At this time, he also discovered that everyone's mental power gave people a different feeling, some were gentle, some were lively, but most were enthusiastic and harmless.

"Come up."

The old man's voice came again, he reluctantly withdrew his gaze and followed the old man to the lift platform in the corner of the hall.

The platform rose, and the scene in the hall became more and more fully imprinted in his eyes as his field of vision increased. The rows of gray mechas standing at the edge were also revealed. He became even more excited, and his ears trembled with excitement.

"Follow me." The old man withdrew his gaze from him and pointed to a passage opened on the wall mid-air in the hall.

Georgia hurried to catch up, looking back from time to time, feeling extremely itchy.

The two men walked along the corridor to a room at the back. The old man swiped the door open with his ID card, led the way in, and pointed to a huge part in the corner that almost reached the ceiling. He said, "Help me move that instrument up there." He then pointed to a flat instrument not far from the part.

Georgia immediately understood why the old man called him over - the parts were too big, the room was too narrow, and there was not much space for moving them. If they were moved using the space button, they could not be moved accurately to the right place and the equipment could easily be damaged. Large transport equipment could not be driven in, and small equipment could not bear the weight of the parts. If they were moved manually, people who were too tall would not be able to stand upright when holding the parts, and it would be difficult to use their strength. He was relatively short, so it was just right.

In some ways, it's quite impressive that the parts were stuck in such an awkward situation.

He rolled up his sleeves, stepped forward without saying a word, found the point of force, easily picked up the part, and gently placed it on the instrument. Then he clapped his hands and looked at the old man with a smile: "Grandpa, it's moved. Is there anything else I can help with?"

The old man subtly lowered his wide eyes, half frowning, and waved his hand, saying: "No, but I don't have time to see you out now. You stay here by yourself for a while." Then he walked straight to the instrument and began to record the parts data.

Georgia was confused for a moment, then remembered that the training class had been canceled today. She obediently found a corner to sit down, took out a half-made toy mecha and started tinkering with it, trying not to disturb the old man.

The old man saw him like this out of the corner of his eye, his eyebrows twitched, and he turned his attention back to the parts.

After an hour of inspecting the parts, the mini mecha in Georgia's hand gradually took shape.

"show me."

The old man's voice suddenly sounded above his head. Georgia's hand shook, and the arm of the small mecha was not installed properly and fell to the ground.

"Your hands are so unsteady, that's outrageous!" The old man scolded him, then bent down to pick up the mecha arm, played with it in his hand for a while, looked at him and asked, "Did you melt it yourself? Where did you get the materials, tools, and molds?"

Georgia was stunned, and answered honestly: "The uncle in the kitchen gave me some broken parts replaced from the machine, and the smelting tools were lent to me by the brother from the cleaning robot management department." And of course there was no mold. All the parts of the toy were hammered out by him bit by bit with a hammer according to the pictures he searched out on the light computer. These are the basic skills of a dwarf.

The old man didn't say anything, returned his arm to him, and was about to leave. He looked at the little mecha's body carefully, indicated that he could take him away, and didn't say another word.

Georgia put away the small mecha. She didn't know what he meant by not saying anything, and was sent out by him with some trepidation.

"The axis of rotation of the leg joint is wrong."

Standing in front of the last door that required a pass, the old man suddenly spoke, then pushed him out and ruthlessly closed the door.

Georgia staggered two steps and looked back, scratched her hair in confusion, paused for two seconds, turned around and walked towards her room.

It was almost dinner time and more people were walking in the corridor. Georgia tried to reduce her presence as much as possible and walked back along the edge.

When he turned into the corridor of area E1, he vaguely heard the voice of the white-haired monster. His eyes lit up, and he wondered if the other party came to see him, so he quickened his pace and ran towards the source of the sound.

"Marshal Chu, the President misses you very much. The day for distributing the purification fluid is approaching, and you haven't been back yet. Everyone is worried." The handsome young man in a white military uniform spoke gently, and the concern in his tone sounded sincere.

"Thank you for your concern, Colonel Xiang. However, everyone knows my situation. It doesn't matter whether I drink the purification fluid or not. There won't be any improvement anyway." Chu Rong answered with a calm expression. His words were polite, but his tone was so strange that people wanted to slap him when they heard it.

The man called Colonel Xiang was obviously one of the people who wanted to beat him up. He smiled slightly and changed the subject, asking, "I heard that you caught a group of miners? Why bother you to do such a small matter yourself? Just ask the relevant departments to handle it."

"So I am very grateful to Colonel Xiang for coming." Chu Rong replied lightly.

Colonel Xiang was stunned for a few seconds before he realized that Chu Rong meant that he was the "corresponding functional department" who was asked to handle the "small matter". He almost lost his composure and punched Chu Rong on the spot.

He, Xiang Hui, is the most outstanding heir of the Xiang family, the grandson of one of the four marshals of the Federation, and the most outstanding talent in the military. How dare this useless person compare him to a grassroots soldier? No wonder the elders in the family look like they want to cut Chu Rong into pieces when they mention him. It's so infuriating. He deserves it!

Chu Rong, who was looking at him coldly and was very angry but unable to vent his anger, suddenly twitched his eyebrows, then frowned, and looked sharply in the direction where the sound of brisk footsteps came from - why was Bald Chicken wandering around in the corridor at this time instead of going to training!

Georgia, who had followed the voice, saw the familiar tall figure at a glance. A smile appeared on her face and she was about to run over, but she was frightened and stopped in her tracks by the other person's cold gaze. Then she realized that there was a stranger standing next to the other person. She changed her mind and quickly turned around to avoid him.

Xiang Hui also heard the voice and was about to turn around when Chu Rong moved sideways, blocking his view and then bumped into his shoulder inexplicably.

Chu Rong was the first to complain, and said coldly: "Colonel Xiang, you seem to be a little dissatisfied with me?"

"Of course not!" Colonel Xiang retorted immediately, shifting his attention, stepping sideways, forgetting about looking back, and began to change the subject, trying to turn the atmosphere back - this time he came with a mission, and he didn't dare to really break up with Chu Rong.
