Chapter 1

As noon approached, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains onto the wooden floor of the room, while dust motes floated in the air.

Xu Ziyan turned over, opened his eyes groggily, and first felt a soreness all over his body. Then, the chaotic memories of last night came back to him, his face turned bright red, and he jumped out of bed as if he had sprung up.

On the other side of the large bed, a tall, strong man lay there, covered by a thin blanket that concealed most of his body. He frowned slightly at the noise Xu Ziyan made, but showed no signs of waking up yet.

Seeing that he was still unconscious, Xu Ziyan breathed a sigh of relief, but his heart was beating faster and faster, and he felt as if he were being pounded in his ears. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he took a difficult step forward, peering at the man's face.

From his angle, all he could see was a sharply defined profile. The man had deep-set features, a handsome face, and an indescribable coldness in his slightly furrowed brows. He had a high nose bridge, thin lips that were slightly pursed, and a small cut on his cupid's bow—Xu Ziyan's doing last night.

Upon seeing the man's face clearly, Xu Ziyan's knees buckled, and with trembling hands, she turned over to touch the glands on the back of her neck.

A tooth mark so clear it couldn't be clearer shattered his last shred of hope. Xu Ziyan's face turned pale and then red, and he thought desperately: It's all over.

He, a member of the youth training camp, had the audacity to sleep with the captain of the top A team.

How did things turn out this way?

Xu Ziyan squatted on the ground, holding his head, and struggled to recall.

Last night.

It was past 10:30 PM, and the night in City A had turned a deep crimson. Despite the harsh winter winds and howling winds, the TWG eSports Club Resist division remained brightly lit.

Inside the youth training camp on the first floor, a lone figure sat in front of a computer screen glowing blue. Xu Ziyan gripped the mouse, anxiously refreshing the current webpage.

The time in the bottom right corner of the screen jumped, and the content of the webpage finally changed.

His eyes lit up, and he quickly scrolled the mouse wheel to the very bottom.

After skimming through a bunch of useless platitudes, what appeared before him were three bloody words—"Not Approved".

"...Dear Xu Ziyan, after our rigorous evaluation, we believe you still have some shortcomings as a professional player, therefore we reject your application to join the team... Damn! It's that same old routine again!"

Xu Ziyan frantically ruffled his hair, closed the webpage, and stared at his ranking in the top 100 of the national server on the game interface, falling into deep self-doubt.

Are players ranked in the top 100 of the Chinese server unworthy of being second-team players on your team?

I even beat your team's assault player to a pulp in ranked games!

He took off his headphones and tossed them aside, then slumped back in his gaming chair, completely exhausted.

Just then, footsteps echoed down the corridor. The training room door opened, and walked in his former teammates from the youth training camp, who had also been "left behind." Upon seeing Xu Ziyan, a hint of surprise flashed across his face: "Ice, you're still training? Didn't you go to the victory celebration?"

TWG's main team just won the Mid-Season Invitational, and the head coach and manager were so happy that they granted everyone a day off. The entire team base was given a day off, and they even booked the entire Huating venue for dinner and entertainment, with the team covering all expenses.

Xu Ziyan shook her head listlessly: "I didn't go."

His teammates noticed his dejection and had a pretty good idea of what was going on. They comforted him, saying, "Don't think too much about it. You're still young and talented. If TWG isn't working out, there are plenty of other teams that want you."

Xu Ziyan lowered his head and did not respond. He wanted to stay in TWG, and only wanted to stay in TWG. Otherwise, given his proud personality, how could he possibly fight to the death here?

“However…” his teammate suddenly lowered his voice, “there are other ways to stay.”

Upon hearing this, Xu Ziyan's heart, which had sunk to the bottom, began to rise again. He abruptly raised his head: "What?"

The teammate smiled and said mysteriously, "That's what I heard. Cough cough, Ice, don't be angry if you hear that."

Xu Ziyan nodded.

"I heard about this from another friend about another team!" After repeatedly disclaiming any connection between himself and the matter, the teammate finally got to the point: "I heard that an Omega used his looks to hook up with an Alpha on the team and successfully got a spot on the team through back channels!"

Xu Ziyan was taken aback.

Seeing his expression, his teammate assumed he was offended and upset, and quickly tried to smooth things over, saying, "Haha, I was just saying. There are differences between Omegas, right? Well, I'm grabbing a power bank, I'm off now."

His teammate hurriedly left, and Xu Ziyan sat back down at his computer, the words his teammate had just spoken echoing in his mind.

Good heavens, I must be crazy.

Upon hearing this, Xu Ziyan's first reaction was neither condemnation nor disgust; what came to mind was the face of Xie Wei, the team captain.
