Chapter 90: Lost

Chapter 90: Lost

Xiao Ming was taller than an ordinary man and was wearing armor. Ji Hean and others quickly saw him walking towards them.

Mu Ya was startled at first, then he remembered the mask on his face and relaxed, but he still hid behind Ji Hean.

There was some confusion in Ji Hean's eyes, not knowing why Xiao Ming was walking towards them.

Ji Zhongzi's eyes lit up immediately, and he raised his hand and waved at Xiao Ming vigorously, "Xiao Ming!"

Hearing Ji Zhongzi's voice, Xiao Ming's eyes lit up with a faint smile and he walked a little faster.

Ji Zheng's gaze shifted back and forth between Xiao Ming and Ji Zhongzi. Thinking of their last encounter, he seemed to understand something.

With his tall stature and long legs, Xiao Ming walked in front of the group in no time.

"Good evening, General Xiao." Ji Zheng bowed first, his voice full of courtesy and smile.

Xiao Ming also clasped his fists and returned the greeting, "Master Ji."

Just as he turned around to talk to Ji Hean and the others, Ji Zhong spoke first, "Wow, your armor is so handsome!"

His eyes sparkled as he looked up and down at the armor on Xiao Ming's body, and it looked like he wanted to touch it.

The corners of his mouth hidden under the mask raised up, and a hint of warmth appeared in his exposed eyes. He greeted Ji Hean and the others.

However, when his eyes fell on Mu Ya, a flash of doubt appeared in his eyes. It was not because Mu Ya was wearing a mask, but because Mu Ya looked very familiar to him and he felt as if he had seen her before.

But before he could figure out where he had seen this man, Ji Zheng stood up and spoke.

"Is General Xiao still on duty at this time?" Ji Zheng's eyes stopped on the bow and arrow on Xiao Ming's back.

After thinking for a while, Xiao Ming shook his head and said, "I just got off work."

"We are going to watch the magician's show over there, do you want to go?" Ji Zhongzi raised his hand and pointed to the place in front, inviting enthusiastically.

As soon as these words came out, Xiao Ming nodded hurriedly, "Sorry for bothering you."

Since they all had light bulbs, Ji Zheng didn't care whether there was one more or one less. Moreover, with Xiao Ming's participation, the safety of the others would be more secure. He waved his hand and said, "Don't disturb me, don't disturb me."

The group of four became a group of five.

"Your bow is so big?" Ji Zhongzi's eyes fell on the bow on Xiao Ming's back and asked curiously, "Is it heavy?"

After saying that, he muttered, "It looks quite heavy."

Seeing people curious about the baby, Xiao Ming took off the bow and arrow on his back without saying a word, handed it to Ji Zhongzi and said, "Here you go."

"Ah?" Ji Zhongzi's beautiful peach blossom eyes slightly raised, and after a moment's pause, he immediately understood what Xiao Ming meant, "Can I, can I touch it?"

Without saying anything, he nodded and pushed the bow and arrow in his hand forward again, as if urging Ji Zhongzi.

Ji Zhongzi was not a hypocritical person. He smiled at Xiao Ming in gratitude and reached out to take the bow and arrow, but he had already grasped the bow arm and Xiao Ming still did not let go.

Cast a doubtful look.

"It might be a bit heavy, so you should be mentally prepared," Xiao Ming explained.

He nodded heavily, "Okay."

He concentrated all his strength on his arms, but it was obvious that he was not prepared enough. As soon as Xiao Ming loosened his grip, he was dragged to the ground by the bow in his hand.

"Hit, hit!" Ji Hean and Mu Ya exclaimed.

Her peach blossom eyes suddenly widened and her heart beat faster. It didn't matter if she fell, but if she broke someone else's bow, she would be guilty.

At this moment, a pair of large hands covered with scars suddenly caught the fallen bow, and he himself was also steadily supported by a force.

His heart was still beating fast and Ji Zhongzi looked a little confused.

After he stood firmly, the force on his arm suddenly disappeared.

"I was so scared!" Ji Hean stepped forward and pulled Ji Zhongzi, still a little scared. Mu Ya was the same, "You are too careless."

Seeing his two good friends scared by him, Ji Zhongzi felt a little embarrassed and explained weakly, "It was mainly because I didn't expect the bow to be so heavy, and I didn't prepare enough."

After saying that, he chuckled at the two of them.

Seeing that nothing was wrong, Ji and An Muya stopped talking and instead immersed themselves in the lively scene around them.

"Sorry." A rough voice with an apologetic tone rang in his ears. Ji Zhongzi was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said, "What are you apologizing for? This is my fault. To be honest, if you hadn't reacted quickly, your bow would have been broken."

Xiao Ming didn't say anything, but regret was hidden in his eyes.

"Zhongzhong, come and look at this!" Ji Hean's voice was called from not far away. Ji Zhongzi responded, turned around, smiled at Xiao Ming, and ran towards Ji Hean.

His sight followed Ji Zhongzi's beautiful figure. A dark light flashed through Xiao Ming's black eyes, and the fingers holding the bow arm turned a little white.

After walking around, they finally arrived at the West Market, but were told that the first magic show had just ended and the second one would have to wait a while.

The West Market was more lively and there were many foreigners, so a few of them decided to take a walk around.

Seeing Ji He'an and the other two always whispering together, Ji Zheng felt very heartbroken. During the whole journey, he didn't even hold Ji He'an's hand, but kept seeing Ji He'an and Ji Zhongzi hugging each other.

The three people on the other side had happy smiles on their faces.

"What is this?"

Ji Zhongzi took Ji and An Muya to a foreigner's stall and asked, "What is this?"

The foreigner smiled and introduced it in broken Central Plains dialect: "This is a wind chime made of shells."

As he spoke, he reached out and touched them. The shells strung together made a clear and pleasant sound.

When the three heard this, their eyes lit up.

"How much is this?" Ji Zhongzi's eyes were fixed on the wind chime, and he looked extremely fond of it.

The three of them looked at the merchant boss eagerly.

The merchant took a quick look at the three people's clothes, calculated in his mind, and smiled and pointed a finger, saying, "Very cheap, only one or two taels of silver."

After saying this, he saw the hesitation on the three people's faces and hurriedly said, "Three guests, we made this by ourselves. We are just earning hard-earned money. We risked our lives to get these shells from the sea."

Ji, An and the other two had never seen the sea before, and they were immediately frightened. The three of them looked at each other, with hesitation on their faces.

This wind chime was really exquisitely made and had a pleasant sound. More importantly, they had never seen one before. The three of them really liked it, but one or two ounces of silver was really expensive.

Especially Ji Zhongzi, he worked in a clinic and only earned 500 coins a month.

Not to mention Mu Ya, he is a servant of Ji He'an's family.

At this time, a hand handed the merchant a piece of silver and said, "Boss, pack up what they just saw."

The hoarse voice belongs to Xiao Ming.

Ji Zheng, who was standing behind Xiao Ming, held the silver he had not given away in his hand. He was so tired that his back teeth were about to break as he watched Xiao Ming, who was moving faster than him.

His eyes fell on Xiao Ming, and he wanted to burn a hole in him. What did that mean? Buying things for his wife in front of him! Did he think he was dead?

Ji, An and the other two were stunned for a moment. When they reacted and were about to refuse, the stall owner had already packed the goods and handed them over.

Helplessly, the three of them had to take the things and planned to give the money to Xiao Ming.

But Xiao Ming refused to accept it no matter what, and the three of them felt very embarrassed for a while.

What the three of them didn't expect was that Xiao Ming and Ji Zheng seemed to be at odds with each other and bought a lot of things for them along the way.

If they looked at something for a second longer, before they could say anything, the thing was in their hands.

The three of them looked at each other in bewilderment.

In the end, Ji Hean asked Ji Zheng about it, and the two of them stopped this inexplicable "competition".

They asked the servant to take the things in their hands back home, and seeing that it was almost time, they went to the magic show.

There were many people watching the magic show, and Ji Zheng finally found a reason to have close contact with Ji Hean.

"There are too many people. I'll hold you."

Although he said this seriously, he was actually very happy in his heart because he finally held his baby's hand.

Facing the familiar touch, Ji Zheng resisted the urge to rub harder and instead pushed the person forward.

But there were so many people, and it was so busy that the four of them were separated after a short while.

Seeing that Zhongzhong and Muya were missing, Ji Hean looked a little worried.

"It's okay. I just saw Xiao Ming and the two of them together." Ji Zheng squeezed Ji Hean's hand and comforted him, "Besides, there are many soldiers patrolling, so it won't be unsafe."

After thinking about it, Ji Hean felt that what Ji Zheng said made sense. He felt relieved and his attention gradually turned to the magic show that was about to begin.

On the other side, Ji Zhongzi was originally holding hands with Mu Ya, but unexpectedly a child rushed out and broke their holding hands, and they successfully separated under the crowd.

He searched for a long time but couldn't find anyone, and his shouts were drowned out by the crowd.

"Don't worry, there are a lot of soldiers patrolling the streets, he will be fine."

Xiao Ming spoke to comfort him and handed a black handkerchief to Ji Zhongzi: "Wipe your sweat."

Ji Zhongzi bit his lip, thought for a while, and felt that what Xiao Ming said made sense. After all, Mu Ya had lived in the capital for quite a while, so he might not be safer than him.

Ji Zhongzi nodded, thanked Xiao Ming, took the handkerchief and wiped the sweat off his forehead, "I'll wash the handkerchief before giving it to you."

Xiao Ming nodded and handed the other end of the bow to Ji Zhongzi, "I'll hold you, otherwise we might get separated."

"Okay." After answering, Ji Zhongzi grasped the smooth bow arm.

The place was bustling with noise, noisy environment and constant flow of people.

Mu Ya was successfully squeezed out of the crowd, and his clothes were a little messy, but fortunately the mask on his face did not fall off.

Looking at the magic show stage that was surrounded by people, Mu Ya sighed and decided not to go watch it. She tidied her clothes and prepared to go home.

As for Ji Zhongzi, he was not worried about Ji Hean. After all, one had Xiao Ming by his side, and the other had Ji Zheng by his side. It would be better for him to worry about himself.
