"Yes, Grandpa Sun."
Lin Ruinan obediently reached out to take the old man's pulse.
I took his pulse on both his left and right hands, and then I looked at his tongue.
So he nodded, "It is indeed a deficiency. It must have been that his vital energy was damaged when he was still in the womb, which is why he was born weak."
Fortunately, you've been taking good care of him; otherwise, it would be even more difficult for him to run and jump.
"It's still not fully recovered."
Grandpa Zhang sighed softly, "This child still can't do strenuous exercise or heavy work; his vitality is still insufficient."
"The deficiency brought into the body is not so easy to cure."
Grandpa Sun glanced at Lin Ruinan again, "She's recovered quite well now. We'll prescribe some medicine to continue her recuperation and give her some extra nourishment. She'll be almost fully recovered in a few years."
"Then please write a prescription."
Grandpa Zhang smiled and said, "Once this child's health is restored, everyone will no longer need to worry about him."
"It's not a big deal."
Grandpa Sun took the pen and paper from Lin Jingyu.
As he wrote the prescription, he said, "I'll prescribe a month's worth of medicine for him first. He should come back and check on him after he finishes it, and then we'll see if the prescription needs to be adjusted."
"Grandpa Sun, thank you for your trouble."
Lin Jingyu quickly replied, "I'll have Nan'er come to find you then."
"Don't be so polite, little girl."
Grandpa Sun quickly wrote out the prescription.
He handed it to him and instructed, "Take the prescription to Dr. Niu first and see if he can get all the medicine. If he can't, you'll have to go to the town or the county seat."
The town and county seat have relatively complete medicine supplies, so we should be able to get all the necessary medications.
"OK."
Lin Jingyu nodded. "I'll go find Dr. Niu to get the medicine. If I can't get all of it, I'll go to town."
"Alright, you can go ahead and get busy."
Grandpa Sun smiled and shooed them away.
Lin Jingyu said goodbye to the old men and dragged her younger brother to Dr. Niu's house.
Sure enough, there were several medications that were unavailable.
Lin Jingyu could only ask Su Jingtian to make a trip to town for her.
If the town can't provide all the supplies, then it's not too late to go to the county seat.
Who knows.
Su Jingtian made a trip to town and brought back a person.
"Cheng Haifeng, what brings you here?"
Peng Shiyu frowned as she looked at the large bags and packages he had brought. "Why did you bring so much stuff?"
"It's a gift for you."
Cheng Haifeng pursed his lips, looking reluctant. "My mom insisted that I bring it over. What can I do? Just accept it."
Why would I accept your things? Are you sure you haven't made a mistake?
Peng Shiyu didn't want any of his things at all. "Take them back with you. If I'm going to give anything away, it'll be a gift for my elders. I'll visit your house after the New Year."
"You're crazy."
Cheng Haifeng's eyes widened. "Your mom bought you something and you want me to return it? Do you want me to get beaten up?"
Anyway, I've delivered the goods. Whether you accept them or not is your business; it has nothing to do with me.
"How can it be none of your business?"
Peng Shi chuckled, "Since you brought it, you should take it back."
"Don't even think about it."
Peng Haifeng's lips twitched. "If you really don't want it, then you can throw it away. Anyway, my mom can't see it, and I can't possibly take it back with me."
"You~"
Peng Shiyu was amused by his shameless behavior.
"Fine, do whatever you want."
Peng Haifeng pulled Su Jingtian away, saying, "Didn't you say that a lot of powerful people have come to the village? Take me to see them."
Su Jingtian was dragged away.
The remaining women stared at the pile of things in silence.
"What's the big deal?"
Peng Shiyu muttered, "Why did they have to send over a bunch of stuff? Who cares?"
"If someone shows kindness without any reason, he is either a traitor or a thief."
Yang Shujue couldn't help but say, "She never used to ask her son to bring you things, but now that she's done this, it makes one wonder about her intentions."
"Let me see what she brought first."
Peng Shiyu sighed helplessly.
Unpacking the package revealed several pieces of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and cookies, candy, and pastries...
"Pfft, hahaha~"
Seeing the familiar clothes from those two days ago, Yang Shujue burst into laughter, "Shiyu, the clothes you made, someone bought them and gave them to you to wear, hahaha, that's hilarious."
Not to mention she laughed uncontrollably.
Lin Jingyu and Peng Shiyu couldn't help but laugh.
It has to be said, it's quite dramatic.
"Tch, it's all unrealistic stuff."
Yang Shujue looked disdainful. "It's just a toy to coax children. Shiyu, is she treating you like a child to be played with?"
"You can't say that."
Lin Jingyu vaguely guessed something, "We've seen these things a lot, so we naturally think they're useless. Other girls would definitely be very happy to receive these things."
"It's just that we're different. We prefer practical things; we don't think these fancy embellishments are very useful."
"In the end, people still treat poetry like a child."
Yang Shujue shook her head. "This thing will just take up space if we keep it. We might as well return it."
"Returning it wouldn't be appropriate either."
Lin Jingyu glanced at Peng Shiyu and said, "They are elders. If we really return the things, it would be a slap in their face and a complete offense to them."
It's better to leave it aside and send something more valuable back when you need to give a gift later, as a return gift.
"That will work too."
Suddenly, Yang Shujue thought of Peng Haifeng's attitude and blurted out, "Is it because his mother has taken a liking to Shushi again? Is she sending these things over to please Shiyu?"
