Chapter 93 Adopting a Girl

The two men ate in silence for a moment. Su Le gave Li Zichen a thumbs-up. "Dad, Uncle Xu, it's your turn to wash the dishes today! We cooked the meal!"

Xu Sheng and Su Fugui raised their heads and nodded.

Su Le waited for Li Zichen to finish eating, then took him to the study. He pulled a folder from the bookshelf and handed it to Li Zichen. "Take a look. This is the information of all the employees. I've noted down everyone's strengths. Take a look at it first."

Li Zichen nodded and took it, looking through it. He recognized Xu Hu and Xu Changsheng. He continued to look at the orphan at the back, followed by people with families. Those who came with their children were all behind their fathers.

Su Le waited for more than ten minutes and Li Zichen had basically finished reading it.

Su Le took out the land deeds and pointed to five storefronts. "You know where the supply and marketing cooperative is. This is the milk tea shop next to the mall, then there's the clothing store on the corner, a little in front of the clothing store is the restaurant, and across the street is the shoe store. I have twenty land deeds left. I'm planning to open a supermarket, so we'll take a look at these two locations and see how the crowds gather."

Li Zichen nodded, "Okay."

Su Le believed that Li Zichen had a good financial mind. His first sword and three carvings were impressive. On the way, he introduced Li Zichen to him and told him everything about the recruitment.

The two of them arrived at the first land title, a block away from the previous shops. Surrounded by self-built houses, it was a relatively densely populated area. It was only about the size of a shoe store.

The two then came to the second title deed location, which was at the back of the clothing store, on the side of the shopping mall.

"Wife, don't you have a fruit source? You can open a fruit store there, where there are a lot of people. This place is farther away from the black market, so it can be a supermarket. If anything happens, the clothing store and milk tea shop can come to you in time." Li Zichen thought for a while and said,

Su Le hadn't thought of opening a fruit shop, but when Li Zichen reminded her, she remembered it. She hugged Li Zichen's neck, raised her feet and kissed him, "Husband, you are so smart!"

Li Zichen was stunned. This seemed to be the first time Su Le called him "husband"? How could there be such a beautiful voice in the world?

Su Le chattered for a long time, but didn't hear Li Zichen's response. He turned around and saw Li Zichen still standing there in a daze. "Hey! Li Zichen!"

Li Zichen came back to his senses, "Ah! Wife, what did you say?"

Su Le rolled his eyes at him and smirked, "Let's go, let's go find Jiaojiao and Big Brother."

Li Zichen replied, "Oh. Okay!"

After walking for a while, the two arrived at the milk tea shop. Xu Jiaojiao and Su Xiao were drinking a cup of milk tea with a girl next to them.

Su Le didn't bother them. He lined up with Li Zichen, bought a cup of milk tea, and sat behind them.

"You haven't been to school, how can you do simple arithmetic?" Xu Jiaojiao smiled at Su Le and continued to speak to the girl.

"A little bit." The girl answered timidly.

Xu Jiaojiao looked at the form she filled out. She had a younger brother and a younger sister listed as her family. There were no elders at home. "You brought your younger brothers and sisters with you? Why didn't you list any elders at home?"

The girl lowered her head. "After my parents divorced, my mom ran away, and my dad remarried. My stepmother wanted to sell the three of us. She wanted to save the money by exchanging wives for their sons. My grandmother dragged our team to fill out a letter to sever ties with them. That saved us. Now I'm living with them in a dilapidated temple."

Xu Jiaojiao couldn't bring herself to refuse. She looked at Su Le and saw him nod. "Bring your brother and sister over later." The girl was about to kneel on the ground in gratitude, but Xu Jiaojiao quickly pulled her up. "Go!"

The girl ran out quickly. Su Le and Li Zichen sat down in front of Xu Jiaojiao. "Let me see."

Xu Jiaojiao handed her the form. Chen Pandi. Fifteen years old. Her younger brother, Chen Weidong, ten years old, and her younger sister, Erniu, two years old. They didn't have a surname. It was obvious this family favored boys over girls.

Soon the girl came back, holding the frail little girl, followed by a little boy. She anxiously said to Xu Jiaojiao, "Boss! My sister has a fever! Can you save her? She's... she's so young!"

Su Le quickly stood up, took the child, put him on the table, not at all disgusted by her dirty face, and rested his forehead on her temple. "Yu Jie! Hurry up, take out the thermometer." Su Le shouted quickly.

The girl cried anxiously.

The boy looked at her indifferently, muttering, "She'd better be dead! It's all her fault!" Su Le and Xu Jiaojiao's eyes turned cold as they looked at the boy. The boy glared at them unconvinced, "My dad said she's a bastard! A money-loser! If it weren't for her! My mom wouldn't have left!!"

The girl didn't say anything when she heard this; she had been told the same thing since she was a child. She was already immune to it.

Yu Jie handed the thermometer to Su Le, who placed it under her armpit. "Yu Jie, do you have any fever-reducing medicine in the store?"

Yu Jie nodded, "Yes, but they are for adults."

Su Le said directly, "Break it in half and pour a glass of warm water."

The boy clamored, "Why save her? There's not enough for me to eat! If you save her, you have to divide it into three portions! Just let her die! I won't let you save her."

As the boy was about to go up and pull Su Le, Xu Jiaojiao slapped the boy in the face. The girl quickly went forward and hugged the boy, "Boss! Don't hit my brother... We are all losing money..."

Xu Jiaojiao looked at her with amusement, "You are a money-loser, your sister is not. We don't want you here, get out."

The girl bit her lip. The boy glared at Xu Jiaojiao angrily and rushed over. "You dare to hit me! I'll beat you to death!"

Su Xiao picked him up and threw him out. Chen Pandi ran outside and hugged the boy, then looked back at the girl at the table and cruelly pulled the boy away.

Su Le came out with a piece of paper and said to Chen Pandi, "Stop! Come here!"

Chen Pandi walked over weakly, and Su Le asked coldly, "Sister, you don't want it, right?"

The boy yelled at Chen Pandi, "You money-loser! Do you still want to go back to the Chen family? Grandma said I'm the eldest grandson of the Chen family! She will find a way to get me back!"

Chen Pandi nodded after hearing this.

Su Le sneered, "Write down the severance of ties, sign and put your fingerprints on it!"

Chen Pandi held the pen, unsure how to write. "I don't know how."

Su Le shouted at Li Zichen, "Li Zichen, Big Brother, take them to the neighborhood committee! Get it done today!"

Li Zichen and Su Xiao both had cold and gloomy expressions. The boy looked at the two tall men and no longer had the arrogance he had just now.

The two men dragged the two children to the neighborhood committee, took out their discharge certificates and briefly explained what had happened to the staff. The staff looked at the two children with disdain and directly wrote two letters of severance. Chen Pandi and Chen Weidong signed their names.

Li Zichen said to the office, "I want to register the child under my and my wife's names. We want to adopt her. Please process the process. The girl has a high fever and is unconscious. She can't put her fingerprints down. I will sign and put my fingerprints down as the guardian later."

The clerk showed respect to Li Zichen and helped him with the process. Su Xiao looked at Li Zichen.

Li Zichen named Erniu Li Ningwei. The clerk processed the matter and gave him an adoption certificate. Li Zichen signed and put his fingerprints on the severance agreement.

Chen Pandi took one, Li Zichen took another.
