Save me.
This is all the text written on the note that was slipped into the crack of Gu Xinghe's room door.
The person who wrote these words did not sign their name, nor did they record the recipient of this note.
This made Gu Xinghe suspicious—
On his first day in the town and the hotel, he didn't have much contact with the residents.
Is this note really meant for him?
Rather, if the target really is him, then who would know that he lives here?
Arrange for the five players to stay at the hotel, where the butler, Phils, will be present.
This is the most logical and coherent answer that Gu Xinghe could think of.
But then he remembered that Phils didn't seem to care much about the five of them.
Gu Xinghe subtly dismissed this guess in his mind.
Is it possible that someone randomly slipped this note into the paper?
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but think of a desperate person who had been chased and fled here.
In despair, he wrote this note and randomly slipped it into one of the hotel rooms.
If it is the latter, then combine it with the text on the note.
However, this inevitably reminded Gu Xinghe of the background information of the game system's missions.
The recent spate of mysterious disappearances in the town.
Therefore, it is possible that a missing person, in a desperate attempt to cover up their crime, sent this note before their body was disposed of.
Without lingering long in front of his room, Gu Xinghe picked up the note, closed the door, and went inside.
Sitting on the only bed in the room, Gu Xinghe carefully stroked the note in his hand, frowning as he continued to think.
Before leaving the hotel, he spent a short time in the room and clearly did not notice anything unusual.
In other words, the note was "delivered" during the period when he left the hotel to gather information.
If his whereabouts weren't discovered through some means, then it does seem rather too coincidental.
But this seems to bring us back to the guess that the note wasn't randomly sent, but rather that the target was him.
No longer pondering whether it was a random object or a deliberate delivery, Gu Xinghe simply began to carefully examine the note in his hand.
The irregular edges of the paper clearly showed that it had been haphazardly torn from a notebook.
But the paper strips have a harder texture than regular paper, and a unique feel.
This note appears to have been torn from a sketchbook.
At the same time, the handwriting on the note looked quite messy, as if it had been written in an emergency.
Gu Xinghe touched the pocket watch in his shirt pocket, which remained at a fairly cool temperature.
From this perspective, the note appears to be completely normal.
Holy crap, this is kind of scary!
[It feels a bit like the opening of a third-rate horror movie.]
Who do you think left this note?
[I don't know. The other players are wandering around the town and can't see what's happening at the inn at all.]
Meanwhile, listening to the discussions among the viewers in the live stream, the other players' live stream perspectives were not in the inn.
Clearly, Gu Xinghe also couldn't find out who left the note at his door through the live stream.
After racking his brains without success, Gu Xinghe began to survey the room.
He planned to check whether the person who slipped the note had taken the opportunity to enter his room.
After a careful inspection, Gu Xinghe, finding no signs of forced entry in the room, returned to the front door.
He placed his right hand on the door, resonating with the feeling of the room's doorway.
Cold, stiff, hard, and immobile.
The feeling of transforming into a gate brought Gu Xinghe an extremely strange and novel experience.
Although the door through which the note was slipped could be considered a "direct witness," it naturally lacked any "sight."
However, after a brief silence...
Gu Xinghe experienced a strange sensation of something being inserted into his body from under the door.
The brief moment of empathy quickly came to an end.
Although this experience was somewhat peculiar, it was a rare "normal" experience for Gu Xinghe.
It was a rare treat that it didn't bring any bizarre experiences like being beheaded or having arms grow all over your body.
After experiencing the sensation of being blocked by a door, Gu Xinghe didn't stop what he was doing. Instead, he picked up the note again—
The initial feeling was one of rapid disconnection from the surrounding world.
Then, a smooth, sharp object began to rub and scratch against my body.
Soon after, the paper was folded up, and after being moved around for a while, it finally landed safely.
The experiences from the two instances of empathy did not seem to provide much information, and most of the feelings were within expectations.
But what Gu Xinghe cared more about was the tactile sensation of the writer's and the person who delivered the note.
It must be said that when the person seeking help transformed into a door and a note, the feeling that came to Gu Xinghe was the hand of the person seeking help.
It seemed somewhat similar to the feeling of Lekaya holding his hand and giving him painting guidance in the school's art room.
Especially the hands of the two women, which are generally softer than those of men.
And the fingers have thin calluses in similar locations that have appeared from years of painting.
