Chapter 29 Gu Xinghe activates special storylines again.

Although it seems like a long time has passed.

But Karl's gaze didn't linger on Gu Xinghe for long.

The surprise and doubt that had appeared in his eyes earlier quickly disappeared.

Apart from Gu Xinghe himself and Chen Licheng, who found the plot development strangely familiar, it seemed that no one else noticed.

Soon, after Carl had roughly memorized the names and appearances of the people, he began to assign tasks to each of them.

"Zheng Yiqiu and Chen Wanli are responsible for performing at the bar."

After looking them over, Karl spoke to the two of them.

However, just as Carl was about to look away and look at the next person.

Unsurprisingly, Zheng Yiqiu showed obvious resistance when she heard about this arrangement.

"Manager Carl, I'm not good at singing. Could you find me another job?"

Cleaner, waiter... I'll do anything.

Unexpectedly, Zheng Yiqiu actually had the courage to ask Karl, the tavern manager, for a job change.

It's not that they don't care at all about their main quest, which has already been written down in detail.

It's not that they weren't aware of the potential consequences of failing the main quest.

Zheng Yiqiu's current hope is that her main quest will change after the manager agrees to her proposal.

Hearing this, Karl was neither angry nor impatient with Zheng Yiqiu's refusal of his arrangements.

"No, I think you must have a lot of talent when it comes to singing."

It's okay, you can start doing it.

If we don't do a good job, we'll provide free employee training afterwards.

He simply looked at her again, a strange smile appearing on his face.

Upon hearing this, Zheng Yiqiu's face turned deathly pale.

After saying that, he stopped looking at Zheng Yiqiu, leaving her standing there dejected.

"Sun Zhenbo and Zhao Han, waiters. They are responsible for guests in area D1."

"Chen Licheng, go work in the kitchen."

"Luo Zhiye is in charge of bartending in section A2."

"Wang Penghai is responsible for the daily cleaning of the entire C and D areas."

Carl quickly arranged the work for the other five people.

This time, no one raised any objections.

Based on the current work arrangements, and given that Gu Xinghe is aware of the identity assigned to him by the game system—

Zheng Yiqiu and Chen Wanli are resident singers.

Sun Zhenbo and Zhao Han are waiters.

Luo Zhiye and he were in charge of mixing the drinks.

Wang Penghai is a cleaner, and Chen Licheng is a cook.

Based on this, the work assignments in this Doom Tavern seem to be...

Compared to before, when everyone in Rose Manor was assigned different jobs, it was almost impossible to meet other players.

This instance actually gave me a sense of mutual help and support within the same work field.

"Wilson, take the newcomers to their respective areas to meet with their supervisors."

"While you're at it, take them to the warehouse to pick up the employee handbook and uniforms."

After assigning everyone their tasks, Karl turned around and called out to the booths in the corner of the tavern.

Due to the obstruction of the seats themselves, and the somewhat dim lighting inside the pub.

Gu Xinghe and his group hadn't noticed before that a group of people were sitting in a corner booth, chatting quietly to pass the time.

They were wearing tavern staff uniforms that resembled Carl's.

"OK."

A somewhat lazy voice responded to Karl.

A young man with brown hair stood up from the corner, waved to his companion, and walked towards the crowd.

He had a silver metal name tag pinned to his work clothes.

His name wasn't written on it; only his job title—waiter—was printed on it.

Gu Xinghe recalled what Karl had initially called them—the new day laborers.

The name tags didn't have names printed on them, probably because the bar's staff turnover was very high.

Meanwhile, Wilson, who had been suddenly interrupted by working overtime, seemed eager to leave work again.

He raised his eyes and looked at the seven people who had already been assigned jobs.

It seemed as if he was asking them why they hadn't followed him yet.

The seven people's gazes were subtly fixed on Gu Xinghe.

I'd like to hear why Manager Carl hasn't assigned him any work yet.

"Mr. Gu Xinghe, I have other work arrangements."

Karl's words seemed to be addressed specifically to Gu Xinghe, and then he explained them to the others as well.

[This person was mingling among the other job applicants, conducting an incognito visit.]

I wonder if there's some kind of major industry restructuring plan involved.

I'll talk to him privately later and then arrange a job for him.

Being a working person is really tough.

However, after learning the other person's true thoughts—

No, I didn't, don't talk nonsense.

Gu Xinghe launched into a triple denial.

Not knowing what expression to make, Gu Xinghe decided that a simple smile would suffice.

"Please follow me in a moment."

Finally, Karl said this to Gu Xinghe.

Seeing this, the other players were a little surprised, and their eyes seemed to be full of meaning as they looked at Gu Xinghe.

His gaze seemed no different from when the four players looked at him in the Rose Manor instance.

But one player's expression was an exception—

Chen Licheng's face showed a calm expression that said, "I knew it."

Having witnessed Gu Xinghe's various actions before, Chen Licheng said he was already used to it.

Before we entered Rose Manor, we were told that we would all be working people.
