Chapter 120 Selling at a High Price

Yu Zihan clenched her fists, trying to remain calm. Her heart was beating so fast it felt like it was about to burst out of her throat. But she didn't want others to see her nervousness, especially in this situation, where she had to remain calm and elegant. She looked at the people around her; they were all bidding, vying for the jade. Greed and desire were on everyone's face, as if it were the most precious thing in the world. She didn't understand why people would go crazy for a piece of stone. Perhaps it was because of its beauty and rarity, or perhaps it was because it represented power and wealth.

Boss Yu was overwhelmed. He hadn't expected this jadeite to fetch such a high price. He'd originally thought three million would be a good deal; after all, he'd bought it from a Burmese merchant, so the price wasn't high. But now, the bid had reached five million, and it was likely to continue rising. He looked at the calm and composed girl next to him and wondered, "What kind of person is this? How could she be as calm and composed as he was?" He suddenly wanted to befriend the girl next to him, sensing a unique aura and charm. He wanted to know her name, her background, her preferences; he longed to get to know her better.

Just then, a voice broke the silence. "Six and a half million!" Boss Yu looked up and saw the man who had spoken. He was a middle-aged man in a suit, tie, and glasses. He looked very learned and elegant, but also had a sense of majesty and dominance. He was a wealthy businessman named Hao, one of the most influential people in the city.

He was also one of Boss Yu's biggest competitors. Boss Yu was shocked; he hadn't expected him to offer such a high price. He didn't know why he was buying the jadeite, whether for a collection or as a gift. Suddenly, his eyes turned. Seeing this man's determination to get it, why not seize the opportunity...

"Seven million!" Boss Yu said casually. His bid confirmed the jade's value. After a brief silence, frantic bidding began.

Yu Zihan obviously knew Boss Yu's thoughts very well. She thought to herself, he is really a sinister person.

"Seven and a half million!" said Hao, unwilling to be outdone. He had already planned the purpose of this jadeite clearly in his mind, so how could he give it up so easily? He looked at Boss Yu with a scrutinizing gaze, wondering why Boss Yu had such a strong interest in this jadeite. Could it be that he had the same goal as himself?

The more Boss Hao thought about it, the more he wondered what was going on. How could this be? He had finally established a relationship with that person and learned that he loved collecting top-quality jadeite. He had searched everywhere but hadn't found a piece as good as the one in front of him. He could already imagine how he would be unable to let go of this piece of jadeite when he saw it.

Boss Hao had already made up his mind that he would never allow Boss Yu to take away his credit. He would get this jadeite at any price. Just as he was trying to cheer himself up, Boss Yu made another bid.

"Eight million!"

"Eight and a half million!" Boss Hao followed closely behind. He didn't want to give Boss Yu any chance at all.

Boss Yu turned to look at Boss Hao, their eyes meeting in mid-air. Both were seasoned business professionals, so there was no way their expressions would betray a flaw. They stared at each other for a moment, then simultaneously looked away.

"Eight and a half million for the first time!" The place was completely silent.

"Eight and a half million for the second time!" The only sound in the room was the auctioneer's voice.

"Eight and a half million for the third time!" The auctioneer paused for a moment, as if giving the audience a chance. But the audience could still hear a pin drop.

"Congratulations, Mr. Hao, for winning this jadeite at a price of 8.5 million." The auctioneer hammered down the bid. Mr. Hao had won the jadeite.

After the auction, Boss Yu took Yu Zihan to the office.

Boss Yu asked Yu Zihan: "Miss, please give her your account number."

Yu Zihan only realized after hearing what Boss Yu said that he was going to settle the bill with her. This made her feel awkward, as she didn't even have an identity, so how could she have an account?

Seeing that she was reluctant to speak, Boss Yu seemed to realize that he had something to hide, so he considerately sent his attendants away.

Seeing that they were the only two people left in the office, Yu Zihan decided to tell her story about her relationship with Boss Yu's family. This way, she could not only get out of trouble but also use the power of the real Yu family to find Yu Haoting. She had not forgotten the vicious things this man had done to her and her mother, and this time she would definitely not let him go.

Yu Zihan gently took off her veil and looked at Boss Yu with a smile.

"You, who are you?" Boss Yu asked in shock when he saw Yu Zihan's face.

"Do you know Yu Meijuan?" Yu Zihan did not answer Boss Yu's question but asked her own question instead.

"Little sister?" Boss Yu muttered, and he once again carefully looked at Yu Zihan. Although the person in front of him looked very similar to his mother, it was impossible to call her the little sister. The little sister was almost forty years old, and no matter how well she took care of herself, she shouldn't look like this.

He couldn't help but feel confused.

Yu Zihan saw his slightly changing expression and knew that he had misunderstood.

She then continued, "I am Yu Zihan, Yu Meijuan's daughter. And my face is the result of makeup. I look more like my father."

When Boss Yu heard Yu Zihan's frank answer, he actually believed it a little more.

"Yu Meijuan, is your mother okay now?" Yu Zeren asked anxiously.

"My mother is a very good person. If I guess correctly, you should be one of my uncles?" Yu Zihan said with certainty.

Yu Zeren looked at the girl in front of him. He was not sure whether what she said was true or false, because when they separated from their younger sister, she was still a baby in swaddling clothes. Now there was a person who claimed to be their younger sister's daughter just by virtue of her similar appearance. He still needed to verify it carefully.

Yu Zihan saw Boss Yu's expression and knew that he had doubted her. Yu Zihan understood his mentality very well.

After all, I am not his mother. If it was his mother standing in front of him, the blood connection would surely allow them to recognize each other smoothly. After all, he and this person are only one-quarter blood relatives.

Unfortunately, Yu Zihan's space contained no items that could prove Yu Meijuan's identity. There was only the box, but she wouldn't show it to anyone until she met the real Yu family members.
