Chapter 24 Uninvited Guests

The second day of the Lunar New Year is the day to go back to one's parents' home. At present, Yu Meijuan knows nothing about her parents' home, so the mother and daughter plan to stay at home quietly that day.

After breakfast, they both went about their own business.

Yu Zihan entered the space to study, while Yu Meijuan was tinkering with her embroidery at home.

The winter sun generously spreads its warmth to the world, and the whole house is warm.

A knock on the door broke the silence in the room.

Afraid of disturbing her daughter, Yu Meijuan quickly ran to the front door to open it.

The door opened and two uninvited guests appeared.

Yu Meijuan saw the smiling Aunt Sun and a strange aunt standing at the gate.

"I wonder what Auntie Sun wants to talk to me about?" Subconsciously, Yu Meijuan didn't want the two of them to enter their room. So she stood at the door and spoke.

"Ahem." Aunt Sun noticed Yu Meijuan's rejection of them. Although she felt very uncomfortable, she thought about the purpose of her visit today, suppressed her dissatisfaction, and said with a smile, "I want to ask you something. I wonder if we can talk inside?" She asked tentatively.

"Oh, please come in and talk." Having said that, no matter how reluctant Yu Meijuan was, since they lived next to each other, there was no way she would refuse to let them in.

As soon as the two entered the yard, they began to look around.

Yu Meijuan kept the yard clean and tidy. Even in the freezing winter, the yard did not look desolate. All the daily necessities were placed in an orderly manner, and the whole yard was full of the atmosphere of life.

Aunt Sun thought to herself, "He's a good housewife. This yard is so big, and there are so many rooms. If she and her son get married, they can move in here."

Now that my son has married someone who knows how to live, I can rest assured when I meet the King of Hell.

There was a determined look on her face, as if she was determined to win.

She already regards this place as her own home.

The couple entered the living room, and the furnishings inside attracted them. It was not just the fine items in the room, but also the meticulous arrangement.

Aunt Sun had the good fortune to visit the Luo family's house when they were still living there. At that time, Aunt Sun felt that such a house was what she had always dreamed of.

But now she saw that the impact of all this was too strong. This house was better than it was then, and what was better was that the owner had put so much thought into it. Even the bottle of dried plum branches on the windowsill showed the owner's exquisiteness.

She was happy that she could live in such a house. Thinking of this, she even sat like the owner.

The other one was even more stunned. She claimed that she had been visiting households for half her life. She had seen the behavior of wealthy families and the aura of dignitaries.

But now at Yu Meijuan's place, she didn't even dare to sit down easily, probably because she was afraid of ruining the host's exquisiteness.

Yu Meijuan had crafted exquisite and comfortable cushions for the expensive rosewood sofa, and the exquisite embroidery on the cushions was something they had never seen before.

Seeing this kind of home and Yu Meijuan's dignified demeanor, the old lady began to hesitate about accepting Aunt Sun's request today. She began to think about backing out.

Aunt Sun seemed to see through her thoughts, and in fact she was a little cautious when she first entered the door.

But then she thought, this will be her home from now on, she is the master here, what is she afraid of.

From now on, no matter how capable Yu Meijuan was, she would have to serve her and her son. She couldn't treat her well from the beginning, otherwise she would be too arrogant.

Yu Meijuan noticed her forced composure and couldn't help but be alert as she turned around to pour them some water.

She was born in such a big family. Although she was raised under protection, it was not uncommon for unknown dirty things to happen in such a family.

Furthermore, she had witnessed too many sinister people during her time in Shanghe Village, and she understood the importance of being on guard against others.

"Aunties, please have some water." She brought them some boiled water, and there was no sugar in the water. From this point of view, Yu Meijuan was not welcome to their visit.

Yu Meijuan pushed the plate of melon seeds and peanuts on the coffee table towards the guest and said, "Eat the melon seeds." There was a perfunctory tone in her voice.

She didn't ask the two why they came to her house, waiting for them to tell her themselves.

"Okay, okay," the woman replied, somewhat flattered. Aunt Sun was deeply dissatisfied with her performance. She thought, "You're supposed to be a knowledgeable matchmaker, but you're such a loser. You can't even speak to people. What kind of matchmaker are you?"

In fact, Aunt Sun was wrong to blame them. They just felt that this kind of marriage was not a good match, and they were reluctant to speak up because they were afraid of ruining the reputation they had worked hard for half their life.

Aunt Sun looked at the furnishings in the house and then at Yu Meijuan, and she had already decided that this was her daughter-in-law. She acted like a mother-in-law and said, "Why don't you see your daughter?"

"Oh, my daughter is studying in her room." Yu Meijuan answered Aunt Sun's question, but she was thinking in her heart, why am I asking my daughter? Isn't it just meddling in other people's business? We are not even familiar with each other.

"Why should a girl go to school for so long? Isn't it just a waste of money?" There was a hint of dissatisfaction in Aunt Sun's tone.

Yu Meijuan, who was very sensitive, lost her patience when she heard someone who had nothing to do with her complain about her family affairs. She asked directly, "I wonder what Aunt Sun is doing here?"

Hearing her bad tone, Aunt Sun was dissatisfied in her heart. This woman spoke to me in this tone before she even entered the house. Just wait, once you enter the door of my Sun family, I will teach you a lesson and make you obedient.
