Several people were busy with their own things and didn't pay attention to the person standing there.
"Brother, can I rest on your bunk for a while?" The speaker was the only female among the three, and her voice was so delicate that water could drip out of it.
Several people couldn't help but look at the person who was speaking. She was about thirty years old, well-maintained, and had a delicate appearance. Her clothes were also very elegant. She looked very charming.
Before the man could answer, Pei Shuyan spoke.
"Please sit here with us." When Pei Shuyan saw the woman's charming appearance, the seed of kindness in her heart began to sprout.
Yu Zihan saw that her sister had spoken, but she didn't say anything. The two of them took the initiative to make room for her.
"Thank you." The woman thanked them gently.
She found her own berth, and the man traveling with her helped her put her luggage on the upper berth. The woman sat politely in the seat that Pei Shuyan and the others had given her.
Yu Zihan noticed that the two men accompanying her, though seemingly large and burly, were attentive. They put their luggage away and carefully inspected the private room. They were attentive to the woman, not leaving until she was comfortably seated. As they left, they deliberately paused for a moment to gaze upon Yu Zihan and Pei Shuyan.
Yu Zihan was disgusted by this kind of gaze. She always felt that there was something in it, but she couldn't figure out what it was.
Soon, it was time for lunch.
Yu Zihan took out the pancakes, braised meat, and salted duck eggs she had brought with her, and poured some hot water for herself and her sister.
The two of them ate quietly, and the middle-aged couple also took out the dry food they brought and started eating.
The woman next to him sat there quietly, and she didn't show any intention of eating.
Pei Shuyan looked at her sister, as if asking why she didn't eat.
Yu Zihan shook his head at her.
"Sister, I want to go to the bathroom." Pei Shuyan said to Zi Han after dinner.
"Let me stay with you." Yu Zihan was worried about her being alone, so she had already put her valuables into the space. She was not worried about losing anything. Her sister's safety was her most important task.
As they were leaving, Yu Zihan said to her sister, "Take our cups with you. We'll fetch some water when we come back."
"Okay." Pei Shuyan obediently took her cup.
Yu Zihan has experience traveling and she never leaves her drinking cup unattended, as many bad guys tamper with drinking cups.
After they came back, the gentle woman spoke: "You two look like students. Are you traveling or visiting relatives?" She looked at Pei Shuyan with her big watery eyes. Her first feeling was that this girl was easier to talk to.
"Let's go..." Pei Shuyan's words were stopped in time by Yu Zihan.
"We are visiting relatives." Yu Zihan took over Pei Shuyan's words.
"Oh, then why aren't you with an adult? It's not safe for two little girls to go out." Pei Shuyan was interrupted by her sister, and she realized that she hadn't listened to her sister's repeated warnings not to talk to strangers. She felt annoyed that she was still too naive and must be more careful in the future.
"We have relatives with us, just not in the same carriage," Yu Zihan said, her tone hinting at a refusal to talk. She closed her eyes and dozed off.
The woman wanted to continue the conversation, but seeing Yu Zihan's attitude, she shut up. She looked at the man opposite her with a look of grievance. Unfortunately, the man didn't even look at her. It was as if she was invisible.
The woman was very focused and sat in the same posture for the entire afternoon.
At dinner time, the woman went out, probably to have dinner with her companions.
When she came back, she had some apples in her hands.
She handed it to Yu Zihan: "Try this apple, it's sweet."
"No, thank you." Yu Zihan declined politely.
"Here's a try." She handed the apple to the middle-aged couple opposite.
"Thank you, we do." The man refused decisively.
The woman's kindness was rejected, and she sat in the corner in a depressed mood, looking lonely.
Pei Shuyan looked at her sister. She felt sorry for the woman and thought to herself, there are so many people in the world, not all of them are bad. There is no need to treat everyone as a bad person. Aren't the uncle and aunt across the street also good people? It seems that this aunt is easier to get along with than them.
The car was rattling along, and before I knew it, it was time to turn off the lights.
Yu Zihan saw the woman leaning against the corner of their bed with her eyes closed, and she had no intention of going to sleep on her bunk.
She said to Pei Shuyan, "Sister, you go to the middle bunk and sleep there. I'll sleep on the lower bunk today."
"Okay." Pei Shuyan obediently went to sleep on the middle bunk. Lying on the middle bunk, she was still wondering why this aunt didn't go to sleep on her own bunk?
Yu Zihan didn't notice her sister's troubled expression. She ignored the woman and lay down under the sheets with her eyes closed.
The carriage was quiet, with only the occasional snoring. Yu Zihan thought to herself that as long as they could get through the night smoothly, they would reach their destination. She mentally planned her itinerary to Pengcheng. If she was lucky enough to find Boss Jin, that would be perfect.
Suddenly she heard bursts of groaning sounds. She opened her eyes and saw the gentle woman holding her stomach in pain. She looked scary, with a pale face and cold sweat on her head.
Yu Zihan stood up, wanting to see what was going on with the woman. Pei Shuyan got out of bed, confused, and ran to the woman, asking with concern.
"What's wrong with you?" Pei Shuyan was frightened by the scene.
