Chapter 1 Traveling to the 1980s
"You bastard, I told you to take good care of your sister, and this is how you take care of her, my Nian Ziyao..."
Jiang Nianzi had a splitting headache and just when she woke up, she heard a burst of crying.
"Mom, my sister is awake." The young man who was being poked on the head and cursed saw Jiang Nianzi blinking. His red eyes immediately widened in surprise and he rushed to the bed.
When Ding Hongmei heard this, she quickly sat down at the head of the bed and picked up Jiang Nianzi: "Nianzi, my dear, how are you? Ah?"
Jiang Nianzi was still a little confused, and she looked around in confusion.
The roof was made of wooden beams with black wooden boards on top. The surrounding walls were made of white mud with many mottled marks on them.
The young man squatting in front of her bed with an anxious look on his face was dark-skinned and his clothes were patched.
Where is she?
Jiang Nianzi suddenly remembered the voice she heard in her mind before she fell asleep.
The voice said: "Go back, go back to where you belong..."
"This is..." Jiang Nianzi said subconsciously.
"Zizi, you finally woke up." Before she finished her words, the young man squatting in front of the bed suddenly burst into tears: "If you don't wake up, Mom will beat me to death."
Ding Hongmei slapped her son on the back: "Cry, cry, cry, just do what you want to do. Fortunately, Zizi is fine. If anything happened to Zizi, I would make sure you don't get hurt."
Jiang Nianzi looked over and saw the young man being beaten. He said nothing, but just scratched his head and laughed, "Hehe." He looked naive and stupid.
Jiang Nianzi didn't dare to speak out because she didn't know the situation clearly.
Ding Hongmei felt sorry for her daughter. She had been sickly since she was young, and now she had fallen into the water. Seeing her sickly appearance, she hurriedly said, "Zizi, take a rest first. Mom will go and make you an egg."
She put Jiang Nianzi on the bed and slapped her son again: "You little bastard, come and light the fire."
"oh."
The man touched Jiang Nianzi's hair with red eyes: "Zizi, be good, I'll go light a fire and cook eggs for you, you take a good rest."
Ding Hongmei's voice came from outside: "Jiang Cheng, hurry up, why are you dawdling?"
"Hey, here I come."
After everyone left, Jiang Nianzi finally had the time to sort out the current situation.
Just now, that woman called that man Jiang Cheng, right?
And asked her to recite the posture...
Taking a look at the age-old houses around her, Jiang Nianzi covered her face. If nothing unexpected happened, she must have traveled through time and space in a book.
Traveled to a period novel that she was reading before she fell into a coma.
This is a novel written from the perspective of the male protagonist. The original owner was named Jiang Nianzi, who was the male protagonist’s white moonlight who died early.
A truly sickly beauty, frail and sickly.
Not long after the male protagonist Shen Cheng fell in love with her, she died.
Because of the same name, Jiang Nianzi felt involved and didn’t watch the rest of the story.
But she remembered that the original owner of the book had a mother named Ding Hongmei who favored daughters over sons, a brother and sister who were obsessed with their sister, and a younger brother. The brother was named Jiang Cheng. Her father died early, and she had indeed never seen a man as old as her father.
Thinking of this, Jiang Nianzi quickly got off the bed and took a look at the mirror on the cabinet.
Seeing a face in the mirror that looked exactly like hers, Jiang Nianzi breathed a sigh of relief.
The next second, his eyebrows immediately raised.
This--
Sickly beauty?
The woman in the mirror was much thinner than she really was, but also much darker.
She raised her arms and turned her head to look. She didn't have a single muscle and was as thin as a black chicken.
Before she could complain, Jiang Nianzi coughed a few times, staggered, and felt dizzy.
Luckily she was right next to the bed.
Jiang Nianzi immediately reached out to hold the head of the bed and took a deep breath.
Has she really turned into a sickly beauty?
This is too weak!
Before she entered the book, Jiang Nianzi was a world fighting champion.
Jiang Nianzi found it hard to accept that she had suddenly returned to the 1980s and had become so delicate.
This must be a dream! It must be a dream!
After lying down for an afternoon and eating two poached eggs, Jiang Nianzi accepted the reality.
There is no way. If she doesn't accept the reality, what can she do?
Ding Hongmei and Jiang Cheng went out to work, leaving their five-year-old brother to stay by Jiang Nianzi's bedside.
Jiang Nianzi and her brother, who was covered in black, looked at each other in the eyes.
After various subtle probings, Jiang Nianzhi learned from the boy that it was the 1980s and it was already 1981.
She remembered that when she read this book, although it was written in a fictional era, the main theme was not much different from the real 1980s.
Initially she didn't hold out hope. After all, what could a little kid know? She was just testing the waters.
I didn't expect that this little guy actually knew about it. I guess he heard it from adults a few times.
"Sister, do you want some water?" Jiang Doudou asked in a baby voice, squinting her big dark eyes.
The little doll's clothes were even more ordinary, covered with patches and made of rough fabric.
Jiang Nianzi lay on her side with one hand supporting her head.
Although the little baby was standing beside the bed and talking to her, his eyes were fixed on the bowl on the cupboard without blinking.
The bowl contained the remaining soup from her poached eggs.
His big, round eyes were almost looking into the bottom of the bowl.
"Gulp..."
There was a loud noise coming from Jiang Doudou's stomach. He was startled and hugged his stomach suddenly, turning his head to look at Jiang Nianzi in surprise.
"Sister, I didn't mean to steal your food." He looked pitiful.
Jiang Nianzi couldn't help but burst out laughing.
The depressing feeling of accidentally traveling through a book was dispelled because of this little episode.
"Drink it, I'm full."
"Really?" Jiang Doudou looked at Jiang Nianzi happily with her big round eyes.
Jiang Nianzi's heart softened, she raised her hand and touched the little kid's head: "Really, you eat it."
After getting Jiang Nianzi's permission, Jiang Doudou was no longer humble and excitedly held the bowl and drank the soup in big gulps.
He drank very quickly, making a "gulp gulp" sound, as if he had not eaten enough in hundreds of years.
Looking at his thin body, he really does look like he often doesn't have enough to eat.
Jiang Nianzi sighed. She really was transported to the period novel she was reading. All the characters matched hers.
After reading the prelude to the book, Jiang Nianzi knew how poor this family was.
Although it was difficult for her to accept the unexpected time travel at first, when she calmed down, it was a rare moment of leisure for Jiang Nianzi in all these years.
My grandfather is a Chinese medicine practitioner and my father is a fighting athlete.
She has been carrying the hopes of her father and grandfather since she was a child and has been working hard.
He became a world champion in fighting and also a famous doctor with magical hands.
But she never seriously thought about what she wanted to do, and her grandfather and father didn't care.
Only when she sees her best friend being pampered by her family will she feel envy from the bottom of her heart.
She couldn't help but wonder if her obsession was too deep, which caused her to travel back to the family of her dreams.
There is no doubt that the original owner was loved by his family.
After thinking this through, Jiang Nianzi's initial inability to accept it turned into a little bit of anticipation.
Can she really live the life she wants?
In the evening, Ding Hongmei and Jiang Cheng came back. During dinner, Jiang Nianzi deeply realized the poverty of this family.
Poorer than she could have imagined.
It was very watery corn porridge, with no side dishes except a plate of salted vegetables without oil.
Jiang Doudou and Jiang Cheng, however, were eating happily. They ate very quickly, with big mouthfuls, as if they had been hungry for a long time.
This was the food their family ate, but there were still two eggs in the bowl in front of Jiang Nianzi.
Eggs are a rare commodity these days.
Just by looking at what they were eating, Jiang Nianzi knew how precious these two eggs were.
Jiang Doudou stared at the eggs in her bowl several times and swallowed her saliva.
