Chapter 457 Cleaning the Wounds

Fang Fang brought the medicine box and the three little ones got busy.

Jiayi helped to get the coat, Jiale helped to get the gauze, and Jiachen went to get the scissors.

Seeing that the whole family was busy, the monkey had to take off his inner clothes and expose the wound on his shoulder.

The wound was shocking.

It's deep, big, and oozing pus!

"You need to sew it up!" Fang Fang frowned.

"No way, there's no need to make such a big fuss about this small injury! It will heal in a few days."

"It will be healed in a few days?" Fang Fang stamped her feet in anger. "Look at this wound, it's festering! You're going to piss me off to death! What if the inflammation gets worse and you get a fever? How can you not take care of yourself?"

The monkey lowered his head. It was the first time he saw Xiaoliu so fierce.

Monkey was somewhat frustrated by Fang Fang's barrage of questions. He lowered his head and said softly, "It's really okay, don't worry."

Fang Fang said forcefully, "Listen to me, otherwise you'll easily get a fever and get infected.

You must not have cleaned up properly these past few days."

Jiachen felt something was wrong and shouted, "Mom, there's pus coming out. Let's go to the hospital."

Fang Fang knew that it must have been covered up because it was not cleaned in time.

"Why go to the hospital?"

Fang Fang shook her head.

"Jia Le, go to the neighbor's place and ask Aunt Zhang Hongmei to come over."

Zhang Hongmei is a nurse, so she should be able to handle this.

Because Zhang Hongmei was a colleague of her fifth sister-in-law Lin Shanshan, the two families interacted more frequently.

Lin Shanshan has been promoted to head nurse now, and usually doesn't come back for meals, otherwise I would ask my sister-in-law to handle it.

Jiale took the order and went out.

Soon, Zhang Hongmei came.

"Sister Fang, what's the matter?"

"Hongmei, please help me take a look at this wound. It's already oozing pus. I don't think I can handle it properly, so I'm asking you to help. Sorry to bother you while you're eating."

Hongmei smiled and said, "What's the big deal? We're just neighbors, it's really awkward for you to say that!"

She smiled and put down the medicine box, but when she saw the monkey's face, she was inexplicably happy and said, "It's you!"

The monkey then realized that someone was almost hit by a bicycle on the road just now. He pulled her and the wound was pulled open.

No wonder it hurts more than usual.

Hongmei said, "Do good deeds without leaving a name, comrade!"

Fang Fang looked at the scene in front of her and found it a little funny.

"When did you two meet?"

Hongmei opened the medicine box and said, "It was just an hour ago. When I was going home, I happened to run into a bicycle and almost had an accident. It was this comrade who saved me."

Fang Fang introduced, "This is my older brother who I raised in the countryside. His name is Fang Hongan."

She turned around and said to Monkey, "Brother An, take off your clothes again." Monkey had already put his clothes back on.

It was indeed a bit uncomfortable for the monkey to take off his clothes in front of a lady.

His face turned red, but as Fang Fang spoke, he took it off again, revealing the wound.

When the wound was exposed to the air, Zhang Hongmei couldn't help but gasp. The wound was deep, the surrounding skin was red, swollen and inflamed, and pus was oozing from the edge of the wound, which looked shocking.

"This wound needs to be cleaned quickly, otherwise the infection will get worse." Zhang Hongmei said as she opened the medicine box and took out disinfection tools and gauze.

Fang Fang stood aside, looking at the monkey's wound, feeling very distressed.

She couldn't help but complain, "Look at you, why don't you take care of yourself! The wound is already like this, and you still insist on not going to the hospital!"

The monkey lowered his head and said nothing.

He knew Fang Fang cared about him, but he really didn't want to go to the hospital.

He had never been to the hospital, and what's more, he felt that he could handle it.

Zhang Hongmei saw what Monkey was thinking and gently advised, "Debridement may be a little painful. If you feel it's unbearable, we can go to the hospital for some anesthesia."

The monkey shook his head and said firmly, "No, I can bear it."

Seeing that he was determined, Zhang Hongmei stopped trying to persuade him. She asked him to bite a piece of gauze and then started cleaning.

We stuffed cloth in his mouth because we were afraid that he would feel pain and accidentally bite his tongue or break his teeth.

Hongmei began to concentrate on treating the wound.

She gently wiped the skin around the wound with a sterile cotton ball, and then carefully cleaned the pus and necrotic tissue in the wound with tweezers. She tried to be gentle with each movement, for fear of hurting the monkey.

Despite this, the monkey still broke out in a cold sweat from the pain.

His fists were clenched so tightly that his nails almost dug into his palms.

But he gritted his teeth and said nothing.

Fang Fang stood aside, watching the monkey in pain, feeling anxious and distressed. She couldn't help but say, "Don't be so stubborn. It would be better to go to the hospital and get some anesthesia. Why suffer like this?"

The monkey raised his head and forced a smile, "It's okay, I can hold it in."

While treating the wound, Zhang Hongmei softly comforted him, "Bear with it a little longer, it will be healed soon."

She actually couldn't bear to do it, but she knew that every second she delayed would cause more pain.

She praised him, "You are so strong, just bear with it a little longer!"

Her voice was gentle and firm, as if it had a magical power that relaxed Monkey's tense nerves a little. He closed his eyes and tried not to think about the pain of the wound.

Time ticked by as Zhang Hongmei finally finished cleaning the wound. She carefully bandaged the wound with gauze and gently patted Monkey's shoulder. "Alright, the wound is done. Get enough rest for the next few days, keep the wound dry, and change the dressing regularly."
