Chapter 7: Going up the mountain to set a trap

Originally she only had one dollar, but now she had three dollars and fifty cents more from Xiaoxia, so she could go to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy things.

She rinsed her mouth, washed her face, and ate as usual.

Breakfast is still white porridge and pickles.

The white porridge was kept in the pot, which was on the stove. There was a flame underneath and some sparks.

I saw that the porridge was still piping hot.

Wang Fang opened the cabinet where the eggs were kept yesterday and took out an egg.

My mother-in-law was alright in this regard. For the sake of her stomach, she didn't cook the eggs for others and kept them all for herself.

She beat an egg into the boiling porridge, added some salt, and made egg porridge.

Finally, some nutrition.

This breakfast is okay.

It is now customary that my mother-in-law gets up early in the morning to make breakfast, stew a pot of porridge, and wash some dried radishes. After everyone eats, they go to work.

Wang Fang cooks both lunch and dinner.

As usual, she went to the fields to pick vegetables, and by the way, she broke off half a cucumber, washed it and ate it.

There are only a few vegetables in the vegetable garden, and green peppers are essential every day.

The only seasonings at home are salt and lard, no other seasonings.

You can only enhance the flavor through the original taste of the food.

Green peppers are served at every meal, and the spicy taste goes well with rice. She plans to make tiger skin green peppers for lunch.

I picked some water spinach today, and some loofah, cucumber, and the pumpkin that was half eaten yesterday.

She saw some soybean stalks that had been picked and were being dried in the sun.

I just moved it back yesterday, and it's still very wet today.

She will pick all the pods off and make some salted edamame.

After thinking of the recipe and preparing the dishes, she returned to the yard carrying the basket.

Then go to the well to wash the mosquito net.

The mosquito net had become soaked in black water. She rinsed it several times before it was almost clean. Finally, the original white color could be seen.

She took advantage of the sunshine to hang up the mosquito net.

Washed the sheets again.

The sheets were a little big and difficult for her to wash.

In the future, everything will be washed in the washing machine. She can't wring it out.

Just soak it in water and then rinse it in a basin a few times.

The sun is strong today, so we will be almost done by evening and can take it back then.

She tore off another piece of rag and wiped the room carefully, sweeping the floor as well.

There's no way to sweep the floor. It's all mud and dust...

After sweeping the floor, I wiped the furniture again.

And wiped the bed again.

There weren't many things in the room to begin with, so it only took a minute to clean.

After she finished cleaning, she looked at the empty room. After she took down the mosquito net, the room seemed even emptier and brighter.

There are mosquitoes at night, so you have to hang a mosquito net.

Her skin is very tender and a big bump will appear when you bite it.

This was truly the worst house she had ever seen, with mud walls and mud floors.

After cleaning up her own room, she went to see several other people's rooms.

She took a rag and wiped the dust on the cabinet and the bed.

I have four dollars and fifty cents in my pocket now.

How can you get rich with four dollars and fifty cents?

She wanted to write something and submit it for submission, so she went to the village brigade today to read the newspaper and listen to the radio to see what style of articles were popular recently.

She just couldn't believe that she, a pharmaceutical chemistry graduate student from the 21st century, couldn't make a living in this world!
