"Son, where exactly is Enruo's shop?"
Wang Meihua heard her son calling out to Shao Ying, "Don't run around!" But there wasn't a single laundry shop around.
The brightly lit sign above the restaurant that reads "Ke Lai Xiang Private Kitchen" is truly unique; I've never seen anything like it before.
"Mom, this is our family's shop."
"What? You mean this private kitchen dish?"
Wang Meihua thought she had misheard.
"Yes, Mom, this is our family restaurant. If you look up, there's a sign on the roof of the second floor."
"Meijiajing Laundry Room".
Wang Meihua looked up at the sign and read it aloud.
"Yes, our shop has a restaurant on the first floor and a laundry room on the second floor."
Gu Shaoxuan explained.
Wang Meihua was completely bewildered. She couldn't believe that the magnificent private restaurant in front of her was actually her daughter-in-law's "laundry room".
It was truly unexpected. I always thought it would be like a laundry shop in the provincial capital, but I never imagined that my family's shop would be so grand.
"But didn't Enruo say she was selling boxed lunches? How come this is home-cooked food? And it looks very expensive."
Looking at the unique storefront, Wang Meihua saw that the restaurant's windows were filled with warm light, unlike typical restaurants where the menus were plastered in red on the windows.
This was a revelation to her.
"Mom, go inside and take a look, then you'll see."
"Brother, tell me, where is your wife's shop?"
Gu Shaoying heard her older brother's shouts and ran back.
Before Gu Shaoxuan could speak, she continued.
"Brother, I was just about to tell you something. Before my mom and I go home, you absolutely have to treat me to a big meal at this restaurant. It looks so nice and high-class."
She pointed to the entrance of Ke Lai Xiang Private Kitchen and said to Gu Shaoxuan.
Gu Shaoxuan chuckled. This silly girl seemed to be just like her mother, unaware that this was her family's shop.
"Alright, I'll grant your wish today."
"Oh, are you serious? But didn't my sister-in-law say we should eat at her restaurant?"
This happiness came too suddenly, but it seems, perhaps, that there's a timing conflict.
Shao Ying was momentarily stunned, unsure whether to be happy or...
"Silly daughter, you haven't realized yet, this is the shop your sister-in-law owns."
"What did you say? Brother, is this for real? This really is Sister-in-law's shop?"
Shao Ying's voice rang with delight.
"That's right, let's go quickly, your sister-in-law is still waiting inside."
Pushing open the door, the lush greenery in front of me contrasted sharply with the cold outside.
The customers coming and going were carrying trays, creating quite a lively scene. There was a long queue at the cashier, and Wang Meihua couldn't even squeeze in.
"Brother Gu, you're here. The boss is cooking in the kitchen."
Zhao Minghui watched as the three approached and greeted them warmly.
“Minghui, this is my mother and my sister. They just came from the provincial capital to visit my husband and me yesterday.”
"Hello, Auntie and Little Sister, I'm Zhao Minghui, an employee of Boss Xia. Please feel free to ask me anything if you need anything at the store."
"Minghui, let me show my mom and younger sister around first. You can go ahead and get busy."
Wang Meihua was amazed by her daughter-in-law's shop; she had hired so many employees.
"Son, how many employees did Enruo hire in total?"
"There are 6 people in total. There are 4 downstairs, mainly responsible for the restaurant's work, and 2 upstairs in the laundry room."
Sister-in-law Qiuqin lived next door to us; she was one of the first to run the laundry business with Enruo.
Gu Shaoxuan led his mother and younger sister on a long walk around downstairs, visiting every place.
Everywhere they went, Wang Meihua and her daughter found it novel; the decor and ordering style were truly unprecedented.
Upon arriving at the kitchen, Xia Enruo was dressed in a chef's uniform and preparing fish. When she saw her husband leading her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in, she went to greet them.
"Mom, you're here. I'm making lunch right now. Why don't you go to the private room for a pot of tea and rest for a bit? The food will be ready soon."
"Xiao Guo, brew a pot of tea and take it to the private room, and also get a few new cups."
Gu Shaoying had never seen her sister-in-law like this before. She was wearing clothes she had never seen before, and the way she was directing the employees to work was really cool.
"Sister-in-law, I've never seen your clothes before. Do you have to dress like this to cook in a restaurant?"
"Little sister, this was made by your sister-in-law. From now on, all the chefs in the restaurant will dress like this."
Not long after Xia Enruo opened her business, she bought white cloth based on the chef's uniform from her previous life and made the chef's uniform with Ge Qiuqin according to her own design.
She stipulated that everyone working in the kitchen must wear a uniform chef's outfit, while the uniforms in the front of house were all made of brown shirts and black pants.

Xia Enruo led the three of them to introduce themselves one by one, explaining the work responsibilities of each area.
"Mom, let Shaoxuan take you upstairs to take a look. I'll change my clothes and come out to keep you company after I'm done in the kitchen."
"Okay, Enruo, you go ahead with your business, Mom will shop by herself."
"Little sister, what dishes would you like to eat? Your sister-in-law will cook two for you. Didn't we agree on this yesterday?"
"Sister-in-law, I'd like to eat sweet and sour pork, is that alright?"
"Of course, no problem. You can wander around and take a look first. Your sister-in-law will play with you in a bit."
Seeing his mother and younger sister beaming with joy, and witnessing his wife's outstanding demeanor, Gu Shaoxuan felt both excited and happy.
