People were already talking downstairs, but they were speaking very softly. The shopkeeper didn't come up to call them, probably knowing they were exhausted from traveling all day.
Han Luoxue slept soundly, and when she woke up, the sun had already set. What a waste of a day! It's true what they say, male beauty can be a curse.
She glared fiercely at Han Yuchen.
Han Yuchen innocently touched his nose: "I couldn't help it!"
"Ban my foot!"
Han Luoxue angrily threw the pillow at him, shouting, "I already said no, no, and you still..."
Where is the gentleness and consideration he promised? This man is a liar.
My back and legs ache, I feel weak all over, and all I want to do is lie limply in bed and not do anything.
"It's my fault, it's all my fault. I won't do it again next time." At this point, Han Yuchen could only apologize.
Han Luoxue grabbed another pillow and threw it at Han Yuchen: "You want to do it again?!"
If she had known this man was so unreliable, she shouldn't have agreed last night.
"Then next time, Xue'er, don't be angry, okay?"
"Hmph, go get some hot water, I want to take a bath."
"I still feel terrible all over," Han Luoxue said angrily.
Han Yuchen naturally had no choice but to obey. Han Luoxue soaked in the water for another half a day before she felt much better. The day had been wasted; she didn't go out because she was too tired.
The next day, Han Luoxue woke up early and went downstairs.
"Snow Girl, you're finally awake."
The shopkeeper had been waiting all day and was about to call for help yesterday, but Han Yuchen told Han Luoxue to rest a little longer.
However, what he meant was that they had been traveling for a long time and Han Luoxue was too tired.
The shopkeeper gave him a knowing look, and his gaze toward Han Luoxue today carried a hint of teasing.
Han Luoxue could only pretend not to know. He asked the shopkeeper to invite all the people who wanted to buy the house over, and the shopkeeper naturally agreed.
The group talked for more than an hour, and both parties were satisfied with the final price. They then went to the county government office together.
After explaining the situation, the county magistrate didn't make things difficult for them and readily processed the transfer documents.
Before leaving, Han Luoxue mentioned her desire to cooperate with the county government, but noted that she didn't have much time and could only stay there for a maximum of three days.
The conditions offered to the county government were similar to those before, and the county magistrate, being a good man, readily agreed. That very day, he sent out the county government's officials to make announcements, while Han Luoxue and Han Yuchen pretended to ride their little red horses out of the city.
When they returned, the little red horse had turned into a carriage.
There were four or five trucks together, all loaded with grain.
The grain was first delivered to the inn, where the innkeepers, who were waiting there, were moved to tears upon seeing so much food.
After unloading the grain, the manager could handle the distribution. Han Luoxue went back to haul more grain, this time filling five large carts.
The magistrate was utterly astonished when he saw the five large carts filled with grain.
Meanwhile, a large crowd had already gathered at the entrance of the county government office to buy grain. As soon as the soldiers went out to call out, those who were nearby brought their silver and goods and waited at the entrance of the county government office.
Along the way, they were still a little incredulous, but when they actually saw so much grain, they felt a lump in their throats.
With the help of the county government officials, Han Luoxue and Han Yuchen were extremely busy selling the grain. By the time it was completely dark, all five carts had been sold, making it another fruitful day.
When they returned to the inn, Han Luoxue was exhausted, her back aching. Han Yuchen felt sorry for her. Han Luoxue, being a bit of a penny-pincher, saw the extra wealth in her spatial storage, and her fatigue vanished instantly.
Having estimated the approximate amount of silver, the two decided to stay out for one day and leave the next. They didn't know if the Crown Prince's men had caught up with them, and they certainly didn't want to get into a fight with them now.
After all, the two sides are not yet adversaries.
...
"Found it?"
Meanwhile, the Crown Prince had already received the news and spotted the two men.
"Hehe, you run pretty fast."
The crown prince gave a cold laugh and didn't linger any longer.
"Let's go, let's go now."
They traveled day and night and would arrive in two days.
I have no idea how that person ran; their speed was incredible.
Little did the prince know that when no one was around, the two of them were riding a tiger. And how could a tiger be slow?
They would switch to the little red horse when they were almost at the village. Even the little red horse was faster than any ordinary horse.
The crown prince, however, rode in a carriage. He couldn't possibly travel day and night; he still needed to rest at night.
Mengyao accompanied the Crown Prince out for a stroll to relax, but now they've spent most of their time on the road. This has caused the usually pampered Miss Mengyao to suffer quite a bit.
"Your Highness, we've been out for quite some time now. Shouldn't we return to the capital?"
Traveling like this every day, her bones are almost falling apart.
I don’t know if it’s because she’s too weak, but she hasn’t had much of an appetite lately and doesn’t want to eat anything.
"No rush, let's talk about it in a few days. Is Yao Yao tired?"
The Crown Prince looked at Mengyao and had to admit that she had lost a lot of weight since she left.
Her body was even more frail and delicate, with hardly any flesh on her body, so much so that it was hard to hold her.
"You've lost weight again?" The Crown Prince seemed to notice for the first time. Mengyao pouted, looking aggrieved: "This concubine..."
"If your body can't take it, let them send you back to the capital."
The crown prince had no interest in listening to his explanation and spoke directly.
Mengyao felt a bitter taste in her mouth. If she went home now, what about Han Luoxue...?
Thinking of that village girl filled Mengyao with a strong sense of crisis.
