Chapter 20 Deliberately Playing the Victim

"Father, Father, that looks like that damned girl Han Luoxue!" Han Lao Er shouted angrily, staring in disbelief at the carriage that had long since disappeared from sight.

"I saw it too, it really looks like her." Boss Han was so angry that he slapped his thigh.

"That girl is too cunning. How did she manage to make her face look like that? By the way, did you tie her hands back then?" Han Datou still didn't understand how Han Luoxue had changed. The grain they had already secured was gone just like that. Tomorrow was the last day to deliver the grain, and she couldn't just watch her three sons be sent to prison, could she? That's a place that eats people alive.

Today, they captured Han Luoxue, but not only did they fail to get any grain in return, they also offended Butcher Liu. The remaining maids in the household aren't as pretty as Han Luoxue; they don't know if Butcher Liu will take them.

I can only take the child back to see her and let her jump a little. Compared to the girls, my son's life is of course more important.

"She was tied up, I'm sure she was tied up, and she was tied up quite tightly. I don't know how that girl managed to break free." Han Lao Er was also puzzled and completely confused.

"Forget it, let's go back and think about what to do." Han Datou was in pain all over. But there was still more than an hour of mountain road to walk, and she felt even more overwhelmed. Walking such a long way with injuries, she didn't know if she would survive.

When Han Luoxue returned home, her whole family was frantically searching for her.

Having not seen her all day, Han Mingyuan assumed she had secretly gone into the mountains again and was constantly worried. As night approached, Han Mingyuan, still concerned, asked Han Luoyu to seek help from the village head.

When Han Yuchen heard that someone was missing, she also came to help look for them. They ran to Old Han's house, but Han Datou and the others were not there. Old Mrs. Han and a group of women insisted that they did not know anything.

Han Qiang had no choice but to organize people to go out and search.

Just then, a horse-drawn carriage came speeding by.

It moved extremely fast. It quickly stopped in front of Han Laosan's house.

The crowd swarmed around, startling the driver. The curtain was lifted, and a stunningly beautiful young woman jumped out of the carriage.

"Xue'er, where did you go? You didn't even tell your mother."

Yunniang rushed over and hugged Han Luoxue tightly; she was so worried about her.

"It's alright, Mother."

Han Luoxue was taken aback when she saw so many people in front of the door, but she was smart and immediately understood that the village head was looking for her.

I was a little touched; it turns out so many people care about her.

Are you alright?

The usually aloof Han Yuchen stared at her intently, his eyes filled with concern.

"I'm alright now, thank you all, uncles, aunts and uncles."

Han Luoxue bowed to them to express her gratitude, and everyone said they were glad that she was alright.

"You...Miss Han, you..."

The servant girl finally came to her senses. She looked at the woman's stunning beauty in the moonlight, her mind still reeling.

She ran all the way, chatting with Miss Han along the way, so she shouldn't have been replaced.

Why did the girl who got on and off the bus change completely?

"Thank you for your help, buddy."

Han Luoxue smiled slightly and picked up the basket.

Seeing her carrying the basket weighing over 100 pounds with such ease, the servant's lips twitched violently. Okay, no one was changed; this was indeed that ugly girl.

Although the girl's appearance had changed, her figure and strength remained the same.

For such a small body, its strength is astonishing, which is truly rare.

"Yu Chen, quickly help me get him inside."

Han Luoxue put down her basket, turned around, and carried a child out of the car. Han Yuchen, hearing Han Luoxue's words, hurriedly went over and saw an unconscious old man in the car.

Han Yuchen didn't say much, bending down to pick up the old man. As she got closer, she realized the old man looked somewhat familiar—wasn't this the legendary doctor Xu from town? How did she end up unconscious and be brought back by Han Luoxue?

Being a doctor is supposed to be a relatively stable profession. Even if ordinary people can't afford to eat, they should still have food to eat.

However, she was smart enough not to say anything more, and picked up Doctor Xu and went into the house with Han Luoxue.

Han Qiang picked up the basket that Han Luoxue had put down. He almost bent his back under the weight. She had clearly seen Han Luoxue carry it quite easily; she hadn't expected the basket to be so heavy—it must weigh over a hundred pounds.

That girl Luo Xue is really strong; she can lift over 100 pounds like it's nothing.

Han Qiang thought to himself, he knew what to do the second time, but it was still a bit difficult to actually do it.

It was getting late, and the servant drove the carriage back. Han Luoxue gave him a handful of bright red sour dates, which made him beam with joy. Everyone else followed him into the courtyard.

"Grandpa Village Head, I was knocked unconscious by my grandpa and the others and taken to the market today."

Han Luoxue recounted what the Han family had done that day, including how she deliberately made herself look ugly to avoid being sold, and how she exchanged medicinal herbs for over a hundred catties of grain.

The crowd sighed in amazement; Han Laosan's eldest daughter was truly remarkable.

It's impressive that they managed to escape after being kidnapped, but they even managed to produce so much food?

“Grandpa Village Head, this hundred catties is the money we agreed on for the courtyard. Now everyone is having a hard time, so please distribute it to everyone to help them make ends meet.”

Because there were still neighbors in the courtyard, she didn't take out the grain she had given to the village head.

"This... Xue'er, there's no rush for the food in this yard, you should save it for yourselves first."

Han Qiang had a hard time getting these words out. Is food even food anymore? It's life itself!

Although 100 catties of grain is not much, when distributed to the village, each family will have more than a catty. If they tighten their pants, they can survive for a few days. They might be able to wait for the imperial court to send relief grain, and then they will survive the famine.

"No need, Grandpa, I will find a way to continue earning food."

Han Luoxue smiled sweetly, but then she suddenly thought of Han Datou and the others who hadn't returned yet, and her expression turned cold:

“Grandpa Village Head, the Han family went too far today. Our branch of the family moved out a long time ago, and the division of property documents have been signed and filed. Han Datou dared to come and forcibly kidnap me because of your status, Grandpa. Xue'er is worried that if this happens once, it will happen again. If they don't succeed this time, they will continue to try to harm me. I can't keep guarding against them all the time.”

Han Luoxue's eyes reddened as she spoke, tears welling up in her eyes, threatening to fall, making her look incredibly pitiful.

The villagers were heartbroken to see this; they never imagined the Han family could be so heartless. They used to think Old Mrs. Han was just narrow-minded and petty, but now it seemed there wasn't a single normal person in the Han family.

"Last time they sneaked into my house, Grandpa, you said they should compensate us with thirty catties of grain. We don't want the grain anymore, but please tell them not to tie me up, okay?"

After saying this, tears finally fell from Han Luoxue's eyes. She lowered her head, not daring to look at the people in the room. Yunniang felt sad too. She stepped forward and hugged Han Luoxue's petite body, sobbing, "Uncle Han, we really don't want this grain anymore. Our family would rather starve to death than sell Xue'er. That butcher Liu is no human being. Xue'er will be tortured to death if she goes there."
