Chapter 7 Such a cute little bunny

"Who? Who's here?"

Han Luoxue was also startled. Could it be that the Han family was coming to cause trouble again?

She scanned the room sharply and saw a stick as thick as an arm by the head of the kang (a heated brick bed), so she quickly picked it up.

She'll fight those beasts to the death if they dare cause trouble.

"They're here?"

Han Mingyuan's expression also changed. He tried to get up, but almost fell.

"It's...it's an ugly monster..."

The younger sister, her face pale, ran to Han Luoxue's side, carefully tugged at her clothes, and whispered:

"Sister, let's not eat the meat, let's give the food to him."

Han Yuchen is too terrifying. When he looked at her, Han Ruoyu almost lost her balance.

"impossible..."

Han Luoxue refused without hesitation, but fearing her parents would worry, she pulled her younger sister outside, not forgetting to remind her:

"Father, Mother, leave it to me, you don't need to worry."

As she spoke, she had already reached the door. Not forgetting to close the door, she carried a stick almost as tall as herself in one hand and pulled Han Luoyu with the other, and hurriedly walked out.

"I already said I didn't see any geese, so what are you doing here?"

Looking at Han Yuchen's face, at first she thought his features were quite good, but now?

It's just a wild goose! This person is so stingy, why even bother coming here?

Besides, she didn't steal or rob. The goose she found belonged to Han Luoxue. What's wrong with that?

Han Yuchen looked at the little girl who came out aggressively, her fair and delicate face filled with undisguised anger, and the stick that was taller than her. Suddenly, she felt that she was kind of cute.

For some reason, he couldn't help but think of the general he had raised when he was a child.

Whenever he provokes me, I get all flustered like this.

Thinking of this, he curled his lips upward, revealing a set of bright white teeth.

Han Luoxue saw that he was actually laughing. Although his laughter was a bit scary, she knew he was laughing at her.

She released her younger sister's hand, took a few steps forward with the stick, and snorted angrily:

"Didn't you just look for them? We don't have any geese. Don't try to bully me just because I'm a young girl."

Han Yuchen's lips curled up again as he looked at Han Luoxue, who was holding a stick and looking fierce. Is this what you call a young lady?

“I didn’t say I was looking for wild geese.”

However, seeing the little girl about to shoo people away with a stick, she quickly spoke up.

Han Luoxue froze, her small face showing suspicion as she looked at him:

"You didn't come here to look for the geese?"

Han Yuchen shook his head, and Han Luoxue finally felt relieved. It was good that it wasn't true; they would have meat to eat tonight.

"Here, take this..."

Han Yuchen took something out of the basket and handed it over.

It's a rabbit... a rabbit that's still alive.

Han Luoxue's eyes lit up when she saw the pure white rabbit struggling with its four little legs.

Han Ruoyu was also shocked, her eyes widening. What an adorable little bunny!

"Um?"

Seeing Han Luoxue staring blankly, not taking it, Han Yuchen raised an eyebrow: "Don't want it?"

Upon hearing this, Han Luoxue hurriedly dropped the stick, which landed on the ground with a thud.

Then she quickly snatched the rabbit, but instead of carrying it, she gently held it in her arms:

"For me?"

Han Yuchen nodded aloofly, but a hint of joy flickered in his heart.

"Why?"

They were not related, and the original owner of this body had no interaction with him before. Why was he suddenly so nice to her?

Why?

Han Luoxue's words silenced Han Yuchen as well.

He didn't know either, he just...

"I don't want to see you get eaten."

He hesitated for a moment, then spoke.

Upon hearing this reason, Han Luoxue inwardly scoffed, thinking that there were plenty of girls who had been taken advantage of in this world, and she didn't believe it.

"Han Yuchen, you don't actually like me, do you?"

Han Luoxue stepped forward and moved closer to Han Yuchen, asking curiously in a low voice.

Touching the rabbit's soft, white fur, I wondered how Han Yuchen had caught it; the rabbit wasn't even injured.

A man doesn't treat a woman well for no reason; he must have ulterior motives.

And there wasn't anything in their house that anyone would covet.

You're overthinking it.

After Han Yuchen finished speaking, he didn't linger and turned to leave.

However, before leaving, he didn't forget to bring in a bundle of firewood from the doorway.

Han Luoxue's lips curled into a smile. Was she still saying it was boring? She didn't believe it when they sent rabbits and firewood.

"Big sister, he..."

Seeing that Han Yuchen had already walked far away, the younger sister hurriedly ran over and slammed the door shut. Afraid that he might come back, she simply leaned against the door, patting her chest with her small hands. She was so scared just now that she almost knelt down.

"It's okay, I'm here. I'll hide the rabbit. Now we have firewood, we can go up the mountain to collect more tomorrow. We'll also grind some cornmeal later."

The village head gave them something that hadn't been ground; it couldn't be eaten directly, it had to be crushed on a stone mill.

After saying that, she took the little white rabbit into the kitchen. Touching the fluffy rabbit in her hands, she felt it was so warm and comfortable, and the color was so beautiful. She was almost reluctant to eat such a cute and pretty little rabbit.

But we can't not eat. Right now, the elderly, weak, sick and disabled in the family all need to nourish their bodies. It's not easy to see meat, so how can we let it go?

"Little bunny, you're so cute, I won't eat you today."

Little bunny: If I don't eat today, will I eat tomorrow? What's the use of being cute?

...

"Grandma, Grandma..." Han Yuze kept an eye on them from outside the haunted house.
