Chapter 179: Rescue

Chapter 179: Rescue

When Cui Yan arrived in Dingcheng with the grain, he immediately went to visit Cui Hai.

When he saw people, Cui Hai was still in a coma and his condition was very bad.

Doctor Sun, who was guarding the bed, said that the arrow was stuck too deep and in the heart. If the removal process was not done with care, it would be fatal, but not removing it would also be fatal.

Doctor Sun and the other two military doctors are now in a dilemma. They can only use acupuncture and pills to prolong Cui Hai's life. However, Cui Hai's condition is getting more and more dangerous day by day. If this continues, he will not last more than two days. The arrow needs to be removed as soon as possible.

Cui Yan was extremely anxious and got angry at Doctor Sun. When Huo Chen rushed over, he saw him grabbing Doctor Sun's clothes and lifting the man from the ground. He asked him to let the man go and that the most urgent thing was to find a way to save the man instead of causing trouble here.

Huo Chen's tone was stern. Cui Yan pointed the finger at him and asked, "Where were you when my father led his troops to pursue the enemy? Did you just stand by and watch?"

Huo Chen replied grimly, "I stayed in the city to prevent the enemy from making a feint to the east and attacking from the west, and taking advantage of the opportunity to attack the city."

"I think you are afraid of death!" Cui Yan said angrily.

Huo Chen said coldly: "None of the Black Armored Army are cowards."

"Stop arguing for now, the general is in danger now, and the arrow must be taken out as soon as possible!" Military Doctor Sun said solemnly.

Both of them fell silent.

"These past two days, I've come up with a method that might be worth a try," Doctor Sun said after a moment's deliberation. "But there's only about a 20% chance of success."

Cui Yan's expression darkened: "Only 20%?"

"Even if there is only a glimmer of hope, it's worth a try. If we delay any further, the situation will only get worse." Huo Chen said.

Cui Yan clenched his fists and looked at his father's pale and weak face. He realized that he could not delay any longer. He warned Doctor Sun to do his best to treat the patient, and if he dared to be careless in the slightest, he would have to pay with his father's life.

Afterwards, Cui Yan and Huo Chen went out first. Military Doctor Sun asked someone to call the other two military doctors over. There was a high risk of heavy bleeding during the process of removing the arrowhead, and they needed to be given acupuncture and medication immediately to stabilize the situation.

Seeing a black-armored soldier coming over, Huo Chen stepped forward and asked, "Have you checked it out?"

The black-armored soldier replied, "The Fifth Prince is probably being held in a tent near the main tent. The area is heavily guarded, and even spies can't get in, so it's impossible to determine the Fifth Prince's exact location."

Huo Chen pondered for a moment and said, "Let the brothers get ready and start tonight."

"Yes." The black-armored soldiers took the order and withdrew.

After Huo Chen came back, Cui Yan glanced at him and was still full of hostility towards him. The two of them stood outside waiting without saying a word.

Time passed minute by minute, and the crescent moon in the sky rose higher and higher. A faint moonlight sprinkled down from the night sky, shining on the cold armor and reflecting a cold and bright light.

An hour passed and no one came out.

Cui Yan became more and more impatient as he waited, and wanted to rush in to check the situation several times, but every time he reached the door, he stopped, stood silently for a while, then turned back and continued walking back and forth.

Another hour passed and no one came out.

Cui Yan couldn't wait any longer and was about to go in to take a look. Just as he raised his hand to push open the door, Huo Chen's cold voice came over.

"Going in now will only distract Doctor Sun."

Cui Yan withdrew his hand, turned around and walked back.

After a while, the black-armored soldier came over again and reported a few words to Huo Chen. Huo Chen glanced at the crescent moon in the sky and said to wait another hour.

Another hour passed and it was almost three o'clock in the morning.

Cui Yan stopped walking around and sat on the steps outside the door waiting, occasionally looking back at the house behind him.

When he turned around again, the door was finally opened. He immediately got up and walked over. It was another military doctor who opened the door. He asked anxiously what the situation was. The military doctor hurriedly replied that the arrow had been taken out.

Upon hearing this, Cui Yan and Huo Chen both breathed a sigh of relief.

When the two men came in, Cui Yan hurried to check on Cui Hai's condition. Seeing that his father had not yet woken up, he anxiously asked Military Doctor Sun what was going on.

Doctor Sun was so exhausted that he was almost breathless. "Although the arrow has been removed, whether he can wake up depends on tonight. If he can make it through tonight, he will be fine."

Huo Chen asked Doctor Sun to go down and rest for a while, and asked the other two doctors to stay here. After making the arrangements, he left.

Afterwards, he quietly left the city with twenty black-armored soldiers.

The lights in the main tent were out.

Suddenly, a burst of hurried footsteps came from outside.

Qi Wuhan opened his eyes, straightened his waist and sat up.

"Your Highness, someone sneaked into the military camp and set fire."

He lifted the door curtain and glanced outside, and saw flickering flames in several places in different directions.

"You must have learned this arson trick from His Highness. His Highness used this trick to take advantage of the situation and burned my food supplies before." Ye Xuanhe walked over and said.

"You handle it." Qi Wuhan gave the order indifferently and turned back to the tent.

Ye Xuanhe asked Canglang and Lu Feng to hide with Prince Fu and wait for someone to come to them.

......

Prince Fu was awakened by the noise outside. He then slipped to the door curtain and listened carefully for a while, then quietly opened a gap in the curtain and looked out. He saw flickering flames in front of him, as if there was a fire, and he was extremely excited.

Rescue must be coming!

Seeing no one guarding the outside, he thought they must have gone to put out the fire. If not now, when would he run?

When he sneaked out quietly, he encountered another problem: which direction should he run? What if he missed the people who came to rescue him?

As he was looking around for the shadow of the rescuers, he suddenly saw a black shadow rushing over. He was suddenly excited, thinking that it must be someone coming to rescue him. He quickly raised his hands and waved them vigorously, and whispered, "I'm here."

He was staring at that direction and waving his hands vigorously when suddenly someone patted him on the back. He was so scared that he started to scream and then a hand covered his mouth.

"Your Highness, be quiet, it's me."

Prince Fu nodded quickly, and Huo Chen let go of his hand.

"Your Highness, follow me closely."

Prince Fu nodded repeatedly and followed him closely, but he was stopped after only two steps.

"It's just as the master said, it's delivered to my door." Lu Feng walked out from the shadows.

Prince Fu got excited again when he heard his voice and quickly told Huo Chen, "He was the one who tied me up with a rope. You teach him a lesson for me."

Lu Feng drew his sword quickly, and with a clang, it collided with the flying knife thrown by Huo Chen. Then he released a flare, and the next moment he pushed Prince Fu to the side. Another sword suddenly stabbed out from the shadows, and the move was extremely neat and swift. Although Huo Chen avoided the vital point, his sleeve was still cut by the sharp blade.

"Uncle, didn't we agree that you wouldn't take action?"

"You can't win, keep an eye on the guy."

Although Lu Feng was reluctant, he still said "oh" and walked towards Prince Fu with his sword in hand.

Prince Fu was startled and asked, "What are you going to do?"

"Weren't you so arrogant just now? Don't you want to show me some color?" Lu Feng swung his sword, looking like he was going to take action.

Prince Fu was so sad that he wanted to cry but had no tears. He really shouldn't be happy too early.

When Lu Feng was about to reach him, a dozen black-armored soldiers arrived.

Seeing that he had more helpers all of a sudden, Prince Fu became happy again.

"Take His Highness away first." Huo Chen gave the order while blocking Canglang's quick sword.

At this time, two shadows also appeared, and the black-armored cavalry also came to support.

The two sides fell into a melee.

Prince Fu just followed the person who grabbed his hand and ran forward desperately. His ears were filled with the clashing sounds of swords and he could not hear any other sounds.

With a bang, another flare exploded in the night sky.

Another team of black-armored soldiers who had been lying in ambush behind the bushes immediately rushed to support them.

Prince Fu was handed over to another black-armored soldier, and then continued to run forward. He didn't know how long he had been running, but he felt that his legs were almost broken. When he stopped to take a breath, his ears were still buzzing and he couldn't hear anything clearly.

After catching his breath, he realized that he had run back to the city.
