Chapter 83: Have you ever been cheated by a woman?

Chapter 83: Have you ever been cheated by a woman?

In the end, Ji Quan was unable to bring the person to the Imperial City Division.

As they were leaving, Prince Rui suddenly remembered something and asked casually, "I heard that Second Miss Jiang was here too, why is she nowhere to be seen?"

Ling Feng glanced in the direction of Ji Quan and knew that it was the latter who leaked the news to King Rui.

Prince Rui glanced at Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng broke out in a cold sweat again, not knowing what Prince Rui meant.

"Go and invite the Second Young Lady over. I have something to ask her." Prince Rui instructed Ling Feng. Ling Feng did not obey. A sinister aura filled Prince Rui's eyes. "Do you want me to say it again?"

"I wonder what Your Highness wants to see me for?" Jiang Cheng asked cautiously.

Prince Rui sneered, "Why, do I have to explain everything I do to Minister Jiang now?"

"I dare not." Jiang Cheng bowed and apologized.

Prince An said, "Master Jiang, there's no need to panic. Third Brother just wants to ask Second Miss a few questions." He then said to Ling Feng, "If Commander Ling is worried, come and listen."

Ling Feng cupped his hands to show that he didn't dare.

"Then I'll have to trouble Commander Ling to lead the way." Prince An said with a polite smile.

Jiang Lan was just worrying whether Prince Rui would make things difficult for the two of them when she saw Ling Feng coming with his men.

She looked carefully and saw Prince Rui walking in front first, and her brows frowned. She saw that there was another person following Prince Rui, who looked like Prince An.

Are you here to see her?

When Ling Feng brought two people in, Jiang Lan had no doubt that they were here to find her.

Jiang Lan bowed to the two of them just out of courtesy.

Prince Rui didn't let her get up. He looked her over with his sinister eyes, as if he was looking for a familiar figure in her.

Jiang Lan maintained her saluting posture, wondering if the other person had some strange habit of liking to watch people salute...

"Get up." Prince Rui said indifferently.

After Jiang Lan stood up, Prince Rui went back inside. Prince An went over to Jiang Lan and politely said, "Third brother has something to ask you." He gestured for her to come in. Jiang Lan took two steps forward and then looked back in Ling Feng's direction. She really didn't want to be alone in a room with Prince Rui. Who knew what poison he was going to feed her this time?

Seeing Prince An following behind, Jiang Lan relaxed a little. Three people are always better than two.

Ling Feng felt a little relieved when he saw Prince An also followed in.

Although Prince An's thoughts are hard to guess, he has always abided by his duties and never overstepped the line. When he is around, he will always persuade Prince Rui not to do anything out of line.

"Why are you standing so far away? Are you afraid that I will eat you?" A hint of displeasure flashed across King Rui's face, and he said in a commanding tone, "Come here."

Jiang Lan took two steps forward from the door, looking like she was ready to run away at any time.

"Are you deaf? I told you to stand closer," King Rui said sarcastically.

Jiang Lan replied, "Don't worry, Your Highness. I'm not deaf or blind. Ask whatever you want to ask. I can hear you."

Prince An smiled faintly and advised, "Third brother, please don't scare Miss Jiang."

Prince Rui glanced at Jiang Lan and sneered, "Don't worry, she's very bold. Who knows what she's cursing at me in her heart right now."

Prince An smiled faintly again. Prince Rui glanced at him and asked casually, "Sixth brother, what do you think of her? Is she good enough to be your princess?"

"Third brother, you are joking." Prince An replied.

Prince Rui laughed and said, "Sixth brother, you are right. It was indeed a joke. A woman like her who has no talent, no morals, and is fickle is indeed not worthy of you, Sixth brother."

Are you sick? Did I provoke you? You are so vicious. You must have grown up eating arsenic. . . . .

Jiang Lan remained calm and tried to convince herself to be patient and keep calm.

"Did you ignore everything I said to you last time? You are so self-deprecating and aggressive."

This is intolerable.

"Has Your Highness ever been deceived by a woman before?" Jiang Lan muttered again in a normal voice, "He looks like he has a grudge against all women in the world..."

The corner of King Rui's mouth twitched. "What did you say?"

Jiang Lan muttered again, "It's not like Your Highness didn't hear..."

"How dare you!" Prince Rui slammed the table in anger, his face terribly gloomy.

Hearing the sound, Ling Feng rushed in immediately, and was angrily shouted at by King Rui, "Get out!" King An persuaded King Rui to calm down. Ling Feng gave Jiang Lan a wink, and Jiang Lan understood and immediately took her leave.

"Get back here!"

Jiang Lan ran faster.

Prince Rui stood up and tried to chase after him, but was stopped by Ling Feng, who then took his leave.

After everyone calmed down, Prince An asked, "What's wrong, Third Brother? Why are you so impatient today?" Prince Rui said, "Didn't you hear what she said just now? She said that I was deceived by a woman and that I have a grudge against all women in the world?"

Prince An smiled calmly and said, "Third brother just belittled my lady as worthless. It's no wonder that she felt that way."

Prince Rui pinched his eyebrows, feeling a little annoyed.

"What exactly does Third Brother want to ask Miss Jiang?" Prince An asked with a little curiosity.

"Nothing." Prince Rui simply replied, becoming even more upset. He didn't know why he wanted to see her. Besides making himself even more angry, he cursed again, "Stupid woman."

"If Third Brother is really interested in Miss Jiang," Prince An was interrupted by Prince Rui before he could finish his words, "don't mention this matter again."

Prince An sighed softly, "After so many years, my royal brother still can't let it go?"

Prince Rui did not speak, but looked outside the house, his focus slightly blurred, as if he was looking at a non-existent shadow.

"But if my brother doesn't have a legitimate son, in the future..." Prince An stopped there and continued, "There's no such thing as the best of both worlds. If you can find a compromise, you'll be better than many people."

Prince Rui retracted his gaze and asked, "What about Sixth Brother?"

"I envy my fifth brother, who has no worries." Prince An said.

Prince Rui sneered, "He's just pretending to be stupid. Otherwise, how could the emperor be so confident in allowing him to marry into the General's Mansion?"

Prince An smiled faintly and said, "Fifth brother was so worried a few days ago, he wanted to turn down this marriage and even said he wanted to become a monk. He was the only one who dared to say that to our father."

"Then it depends on whether he dares to become a monk when the time comes."

Here, Jiang Lan and Jiang Cheng left the Marquis' Mansion together.

As soon as he returned home, Jiang Cheng asked Jiang Lan what King Rui asked her?

Jiang Lan made up a story to deal with it, saying that Prince Rui was just curious about why she came to the Marquis' Mansion. She replied that she came to deliver some books. After all, the Spring Examination was approaching, and both of them needed to read and review.

After Jiang Lan left, Jiang Cheng pondered for a while, feeling that there were wolves in front and tigers behind, and a sense of crisis that every little thing seemed to be an enemy.

Afterwards, he instructed the housekeeper to invite a teacher to teach Jiang Rui.

The next day, the housekeeper went to the school to ask for leave for Jiang Rui.
