Chapter 237 Lucky Man
The next day, the sun came as expected.
Everyone stood on the roadside looking at the entrance to the town.
Before long, a man in simple clothes appeared in front of everyone.
A group of normal people and a group of abnormal corpse demons all looked at him with shining eyes.
He took a step back in confusion, not knowing whether he should take action.
Tao Zi sat quietly in the inn as the man was brought in.
"Shemale, here comes the lucky one!"
The corpse demon has not arrived yet, but the sound has arrived.
Tao Zi looked up and saw a man with ordinary appearance, the kind that would be unrecognizable in a crowd.
He looked at her doubtfully, and guessed that she was the one in charge, so he asked, "Fellow Daoist, what's going on?"
Tao Zi ignored the question and asked directly, "Can you get out?"
He shook his head, his expression solemn: "As soon as you step out of the town, you'll see a wilderness. No matter which way you go, you'll end up back in front of the town."
Tao Zi had already heard about this matter from Fellow Daoist Yuan, so she was not surprised.
The man asked again, and she briefly explained the situation.
He suddenly realized: "I was wondering why there were traces of formation fluctuations here, so this is it."
Fellow Daoist Yuan looked over and said in shock, "You knew there was something unusual going on here, and you still came in?"
He smiled sheepishly and said, "I just came in out of curiosity."
A monk came over excitedly and said, "The boss has spoken."
Fellow Daoist Yuan immediately sat up straight and said excitedly, "Bring him here."
The boss was brought in front of them dying. A corpse demon stepped forward and kicked him twice, kicking one of his own feet off.
The demon jumped to pick up the foot and said fiercely, "Speak quickly!"
The boss coughed twice and said weakly, "Those fake demons don't know the ways of the world, so we settled in the town and waited for ordinary people to come. One is to increase the number of fake demons, and the other is to make the fake demons imitate us."
"Fake demon?" Tao Zi whispered the word.
"Yes, that's what we call them."
Fellow Daoist Yuan asked in return, "You guys?"
"We are superior to them and can assimilate others into demons."
Lucky asked, "Where are all those fake demons who have learned the ways of the world?"
"Return to your original position." The boss smiled. "Mortals will continue to be mortals, and monks will continue to be monks."
Fellow Daoist Yuan asked coldly, "Where's the list?"
The boss laughed and said, "There's no list. There's more than one town on this continent doing these things. You'll never be able to find them all."
Everyone looked unhappy.
Tao Zi looked down at him: "How to assimilate?"
"Mortals use food, while monks use food plus demonic energy to lure people."
She looked up at the monks and said calmly, "Anyone who has eaten in this town, please stand up."
The monks stood there motionless.
Tao Zi smiled and said, "If you don't come out, you will be treated as a fake demon."
Someone questioned: "Why do you do this?"
The pressure from Yue Qingya, who was in the Nascent Soul stage, overwhelmed them, and their expressions changed.
Finally, a few people reluctantly and slowly stood up.
Tao Zi glanced at those people and attacked with a dagger.
The man's face changed and he wanted to dodge, but Yue Qingya pressed him down and he couldn't move.
The dagger stabbed straight at his forehead. His companion was unable to save him and shouted angrily: "You are too much! How could you..."
Looking at the skeleton, his voice suddenly disappeared.
Tao Zi smiled gently and said, "The situation is special now. No matter how much you object, I will kill you directly as usual. As for whether the deceased is a fake demon or not, I don't care."
Everyone was silent, no longer speaking.
Fellow Daoist Yuan straightened his back silently, adjusted his sitting posture, and did not dare to speak.
Tao Zi continued to ask: "What is your relationship with the alien race?"
"That's not something I can know."
She stood up, looked down at her boss, and asked, "Besides you, are there any other demons here that can be assimilated?"
The boss shook his head, his expression arrogant: "No, not everyone is qualified to be a source demon."
Tao Zi smiled faintly and praised: "Excellent, kill him."
The boss's expression changed. He kept saying, "How could you do this? You promised me that if I told you, you wouldn't kill me!"
She tilted her head and smiled, "I never said anything like that."
Someone tried to stop him: "Maybe there's an antidote?"
Fellow Daoist Yuan scoffed, "This isn't poison, it's demonic. How can there be an antidote?"
Yue Qingya tried to kill him, but was stopped by some people.
Tao Zi walked up the stairs, holding the handrail and said, "Anyone who blocks me will be a fake demon."
There are still people trying to stop them. After all, once the source demon dies, the fake demon will have no chance of surviving.
After she got to the room, everything quieted down.
Fellow Daoist Yuan’s footsteps were heard and he knocked on the door.
"Come in."
He walked in quickly and said, "The waiter fainted."
Tao Zi frowned: "Dead?"
"Not really, it's just half bones and half flesh and blood."
She said, "That's good."
Yu Niang's medicine is indeed effective.
"Also, that, uh, Lucky guy ran outside, apparently to study the formation, and Zhenjun followed him."
Tao Zi nodded and said, "Is there anything else?"
Fellow Daoist Yuan hesitated for a moment before finally speaking hesitantly, "That's not the case, it's just that your actions reminded me of someone."
"My approach?" Tao Zi laughed. "Everyone does this."
He pursed his lips and said, "That's true. I'm probably overthinking it."
Seeing him about to leave, Tao Zi stopped him and asked, "How did you guess they were related to the alien race?"
Fellow Daoist Yuan was stunned for a moment, then said, "I didn't guess it, I just lied out of habit."
"Is that so?" Tao Zi didn't ask why he had this habit, and said, "It's okay, go and do your thing."
As soon as he left, she went down into the dirt hole.
Xiao Lizi still stayed downstairs, watching Li Xiu study.
Tao Zi said succinctly: "The boss is dead."
Xiao Lizi nodded casually, and shifted his gaze: "Oh, I was wondering why I felt a little uncomfortable just now."
Tao Zi stood there watching and continued to ask: "I didn't ask you before, who rescued your sister?"
Being in a small town like this, it is impossible for Yu Niang to escape on her own.
Xiao Lizi was stunned for a moment, then looked up at her. After a long hesitation, he said, "A man in black said he could only take one person away, so he took my sister away."
Men in Black...
Tao Zi was knocking on the mud wall, looking a little uncertain.
He hesitated for a moment before whispering, "He seems to be a medical practitioner who is proficient in formations."
She turned her head and looked: "Anything else?"
Xiao Lizi's expression was tangled for a long time, and his voice became even quieter: "It seems to be related to Yue Qiran from Minglan Sect."
Li Xiu looked up blankly, and Tao Zi was even more confused than him.
