Chapter 1: A Crucible of Geniuses, a Graveyard of Mediocrity.

[Self-revelation: 1. There will absolutely be no abuse of the protagonist; the world of this story revolves around him! If you don't like him, it's definitely because the author didn't write him well.]

2. My dominant partner must uphold male virtues; dirty men will never touch the submissive partner and will be cannon fodder thrown into the trash can.

3. Not every world will necessarily have multiple male leads; it depends on your inspiration. Feel free to nominate the worlds and characters you'd like to see!

If trending topics existed in the magical world, then today's top trending topic at Aetheran Academy would definitely be—

"Shocking! Prince Aiden was seen behaving intimately with a commoner and violated regulations by recommending him for university admission. The reason behind this is chilling!"

Rumors are flying! Someone witnessed the prince's fiancé, Willy, leaving in disgrace! Is this a sign of trouble looming over the royal marriage?

"The Conflict Between Nobles and Commoners: The Principal Refuses Interviews! Aetherland is About to Overturn the Past Education System, with Unimaginable Consequences!"

...and so on.

All of this stems from this morning, when Vili's fiancé, Aiden, the sole heir to the vast kingdom of Serdos, entered Aetherland with a commoner boy.

The full name of Aetherland is—

Aetheran Royal Magic Academy.

In this magical world, although the upper class is mostly composed of nobles, talented commoners are not uncommon. Within Seldos alone, there are nearly a hundred magic academies that do not restrict the identity of students for admission.

But Atheran was not among them.

Its founder was one of the kings of the Celtos royal family, who was said to be both a wise and decisive monarch and an exceptional magician of his time.

Under his rule, Cerdos rapidly expanded from an obscure little country into a very prosperous and powerful nation.

Wherever his iron cavalry went, the surrounding areas bowed down and willingly submitted.

He ascended the throne at the age of fifteen, and by the time he was thirty, he could no longer find a worthy adversary.

After that, he focused on domestic affairs, founded a magic academy, and named it the Royal Magic Academy of Aetherland after himself.

He was the sole funder of the college, and in the very beginning, he even drew the architectural plans himself. Anyone who tried to curry favor with him was ruthlessly rejected.

After the college was established, he set a rule that students would be admitted once every three years.

Three years might seem like too long for other magic academies, but for Aetheran, it's far from enough.

Because in its first year of operation, it only enrolled three students, one of whom was barely admitted by King Atheran.

All of this is because of the school motto set by Aetheran—

"A crucible for geniuses, a graveyard for mediocres."

He arrogantly declared that Atheran had only one standard—the best.

Perhaps it is because what is unattainable is more desirable. After the death of this greatest king of Seldos, the name of Aetheran became more and more famous, and today it has become the dream of all magicians.

Sadly, the admission standards for Aetherland have been lowered again and again, and even someone with mediocre magical talent like "Vili" can secure an admission spot simply because of his noble status.

Of course, this "Vili" is not the same as that Vili.

Now, let's introduce our main character.

In another distant time and space, there lived the greatest magician of his time, who topped the lists for "strongest," "most popular," and "most desirable to marry" for three consecutive years.

And his name happens to be the same as that of Prince Aiden's fiancé in that timeline, both being named Vili.

Perhaps because of this fate, a supporting character role-playing system with the ID 888 took notice of him and, during the process of binding with him...

Successfully captured by the opponent.

-

Vili raised an eyebrow, grabbed the little thing that wanted to crawl into his head and force a contract with him, and rubbed it wantonly in his hand.

The electronic sounds of 888 became fragmented as a result.

[System binding in progress, please do not shake or move...]

[Playing Roles System 888, Binding failed, binding failed, binding failed...]

[Beep—]

With a long whistle, the spherical object, which had been radiating a lustrous glow, completely dimmed and lay limply in Vili's palm.

Willie waited for it to quiet down before speaking with great interest.

What are you?

888 remains motionless.

Willie wasn't in a hurry; instead, he tossed and caught it repeatedly, like a cat playing with a ball.

"It seems to be a different system of magic, but isn't it a bit too domineering to force a contract with someone without even giving a heads-up?"

To be honest, this behavior reminded him of some painful memories, and his originally nonchalant tone suddenly turned cold.

"say."

As he spoke, a purple light suddenly appeared on his finger, causing it to tremble violently the instant it touched the system.

—Electroshock is a method that their system should use to punish disobedient hosts!

—How...how can someone turn the electric shock system around?!

The newly manufactured system 888 began to suspect the system's existence.

But before the second electric shock came, it immediately came to its senses and wisely spoke up, quickly explaining everything in one go.

"I...I...I am the Supporting Role Playing System, number 888. You...you are the host I have chosen. I want to bind with you to do missions in other worlds. After completing the mission, you can have one wish granted, without any restrictions."
