Chapter 187 Alchemy

As the unfamiliar heartbeat drew closer, he suddenly turned around and met the gaze of the person approaching.

Her chestnut-brown, medium-length hair cascaded over her shoulders. The girl's appearance was unremarkable, but she possessed a pair of bright, gentle eyes that seemed out of place in this gloomy castle.

Beside her, Deville looked surprised and quickly bowed.

“Young Master Vili,” he frowned, glancing at the mess not far away, “I apologize for their rudeness.”

"Now, please allow me a moment to explain. I promise I will handle all of this properly."

Vampires are incredibly resilient, and for the servants, the damage to the corridor carpets from this bizarre fire was likely even greater than the physical pain they suffered.

The reason Deville was angry was that they had let young Master Willy see this scene.

He was about to rush over and reprimand the group when Vili suddenly stopped him.

"Deville, you haven't introduced him to me yet. Who is this?"

If she hadn't been following behind the butler, judging solely by the human aura surrounding her, she would probably have been devoured by some daring servants the moment she stepped into the castle.

Deville stopped in his tracks, looked in the direction of Willy's gaze, and closed his eyes in annoyance.

In his haste to deal with the servants, he almost forgot about the trouble that had come knocking on his door.

Suppressing his inner turmoil, he spoke: "Young Master Vili, please forgive my oversight."

"Let me introduce you... This young lady is named Lansa. She is currently a guest of the castle and will be staying here for a while."

"As for the specific date, it will have to be decided after Your Highness wakes up."

Although he had suspected it, Willie didn't expect the plot to start so suddenly.

Meeting Lansha's uneasy scrutinizing gaze, the handsome young man, seemingly not belonging to the mundane world, suddenly smiled, his slight bow a smooth and elegant gesture.

Good evening... I'm Willie.

"..."

Lansa stood frozen in place, not answering. Under the questioning gaze of Vili, her face slowly flushed red, and she almost panicked as she covered her burning cheeks.

She crouched down like an ostrich, stammering.

"I'm...I'm sorry..."

This really must have been a dream!

Just like in a movie, a group of strange people suddenly appeared and started chasing her, while her father, who hadn't shown his face for twenty years, stood in front of her, saying that he was a half-human, half-vampire...

If it weren't for the lingering pain in her neck, she wouldn't have actually come to this place where she couldn't see a ray of sunlight.

But she never expected that the rumor that vampires possess superhuman beauty... was actually true...

Willy patiently waited for her to calm down and finally dare to look him in the eye before continuing, "Welcome to the castle. If you need any help later, feel free to come to me."

If he has time.

"Well then, have a pleasant evening."

After saying this, he nodded, bid farewell to Deville, and left.

Lansha stared at his back for a long time until she heard the butler scolding his subordinates, which startled her awake. She then moved closer, inching her way like a tortoise.

"That...that person..."

“That is one of the two young masters in the castle, Vili Thun. He is the heir to the Prince and my future master.”

Deville was not surprised by her reaction. His tone was tinged with pride, yet also carried a hint of threat.

"Oh... I see..."

Lansha nodded hesitantly, biting her lip, feeling a little disappointed for some reason.

Deville had no intention of saying more. After having the servants carried away, he politely said, "Then, Miss Lansha, please continue to follow in my footsteps, remember every path in the castle, and be careful in your actions and words."

“Once His Highness the Prince awakens, I will personally take you to see him.”

"Ah...okay, okay."

After parting ways with the female protagonist, Vili put everything that had happened in the corridor out of his mind and walked briskly into the alchemy apothecary, heading straight for the potion that was only half-prepared.

The liquid inside the flask was crystal clear. As it was lifted, the surface rippled and tiny bubbles rose.

It's time.

He opened the long box on the table, revealing a Moonshadow Orchid that had been stored for a long time but was still fresh. He gently peeled off a petal with his fingertips and put it into the potion.

At the same time, ancient language was chanted softly from the boy's lips, and specks of magical light floated, merging into the liquid with his gestures, as if weighed precisely on a scale, stopping at just the right moment.

The originally transparent medicine was stained bright red, slowly swirling inside the flask to form a small vortex. The liquid gradually decreased as if evaporating, emitting a light that illuminated Willy's face before dimming again and returning to normal.

Willy's lips curled up slightly as he looked with satisfaction at the potion, which now contained almost only enough for one bottle cap.

It seems that even though I haven't practiced for a long time... my skills haven't become rusty.

"Host..." the system asked timidly, "Do you really want to drink it?"

"I've put so much effort into this, why shouldn't I drink it?"

He poured the medicine into a glass bottle, casually pressed it to his lips, and pressed down a small curve.

"But isn't it a bit of a waste to become human just so I can eat human food?"

The system didn't really intend to change Willy's mind, but it just felt a little regretful.

Her small Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and a bloodstain-like mark appeared on her lower lip, like a dot of red lip rouge, which was then swept into her mouth by a fleeting tongue.

Vili savored the taste for a moment, then smiled.

"Who told you this is a potion that turns vampires into humans?"

"...Huh?"

As he tidied up the mess on the table, he said mischievously, "I only told you that Moonshadow Orchid could make that kind of potion, but I never said that what I'm making now is one of them."

"What I just drank was just a potion that can change the constitution of vampires, allowing them to eat human food."

However, it's probably only good for tasting; eating too much could harm your health, and it doesn't actually fill you up...

Otherwise, let's think of a way to improve it later?

"..."

"Il, the female lead has appeared, the plot is about to begin, right?"

"Um……"

The system seemed taken aback by its host's prank, letting out a long, short-circuit-like beep and remaining silent for a while. However, upon hearing Willy call its name, it instinctively responded.

Suddenly I felt...

I don't seem to be much different from Dalio...

but--

The host lied to me, it must be because the host likes me, otherwise why don't I see him lying to others?

Finding nothing amiss with its strange thought process, and having received a satisfactory answer from the system, Willy cheerfully blew out the candles in the room and went outside.

Looks like... I can enjoy the upcoming show while munching on popcorn.
