Chapter 2 Side Story: If World Line (Part 1)

Seeing that several of his "old friends" were casting suspicious glances at him, the prime minister quickly spoke up.

"Such a responsibility is far too heavy for this old minister to bear. Are there any other suggestions?"

His heart was bleeding as he said this.

The nobles, however, were used to such scenes, and someone scoffed.

"The heir to the royal family still needs to have a pure bloodline."

Who doesn't know that among nobles, the most common marriage alliances are with royalty?

"His Majesty Vili's fate is indeed regrettable, but since we haven't been able to find him after so long, we should make plans as soon as possible."

"I think it would be better to select a virtuous and talented person from among the nobles of the collateral branches of the royal family."

Unfortunately, there were quite a few people trying to sabotage it.

"Your family's connections are eight hundred miles away from the royal family."

"Why don't we ask the court diviner to make a prophecy?"

"Do you believe in his abilities, or do you believe that His Majesty Aetheran can be resurrected?"

The discussion at the meeting became increasingly heated and lasted for nearly two hours, but still no conclusion was reached.

The prime minister also noticed the silence of this important figure, so he tapped the table twice to signal everyone to quiet down.

"Greenwood, you haven't said anything yet. Is there something on your mind?"

The old man, who had an ordinary appearance and looked like just an elder in the neighborhood, slowly stroked his beard.

“I’ve heard what you’ve said… There’s one person I actually agree with.”

"His Majesty Atheran... he really has been resurrected."
