But as he passed by the dining table, he noticed shards of glass on the floor and dried red wine stains, deep red like blood.
He raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Has the servant neglected you? Why hasn't he cleaned up this place?"
He walked out of the room, sat down next to Zefiri, poured himself a glass of red wine, and drank it all in one gulp.
"I told them not to clean it up."
Zephyr didn't look at Scarlett, but stared at the red liquid in his glass, a slight smile playing on his lips, his voice low and mellow.
"That was... a memorial."
"You're getting weirder and weirder."
Scarlett didn't ask any more questions and slammed the cup down.
He said frankly, "I came to see you to ask about my queen."
"Willi Hughes?"
"……right."
How could he remember a name so clearly, a name he himself had forgotten?
A question flashed through Scarlett's mind, but he didn't dwell on it. He simply explained what had happened and then asked:
What exactly happened yesterday?
However, his words received no response. Following Zephyr's gaze, he saw a crystal vase on the corner table, inside which roses were quietly blooming, extremely alluring.
Scarlett recognized where it came from at a glance.
"Isn't that one of the ones I planted in my garden? You like it very much?"
"……yes."
Zephyr readily admitted, emphasizing.
"I really... really like it."
“…” Scarlett was puzzled. “Then after you go back from the wedding, I’ll have someone give you some seeds?”
"Just this one branch is enough."
"And I will bring it back myself."
Zephyr finally turned to look at his friend, his eyes flickering with a complex expression.
