Chapter 29 Side Story: Elijah (Part 1)



"I will protect him."

All he needs is me... that's enough.

The old man seemed to let out a sigh, his deep, weathered eyes fixed on "Elian."

“…Young Master Elijah”

"You know that."

The dream's master, the real Elijah, wanted to close his eyes, but he couldn't.

In fact, he knew better than anyone what Deville was going to say.

That was a nightmare that had haunted him for so long... and never disappeared.

"Even brothers can't stay together forever."

The moonlight was cold and clear. With a start, Elaine awoke from her sleep. Her blood-red eyes gleamed with an almost violent light in the shadows, but upon closer inspection, one could glimpse a few scattered stars.

His first reaction was to look to his side, but he couldn't find that familiar figure. He could only vaguely make out the traces of a human shape in the folds of the sheets.

Fortunately, before he lost control, his keen hearing caught the piano music coming from another room.

Intermittent, yet carrying a familiar feel.

Almost instantly, he appeared beside the pure white piano. Moonlight streamed through the half-open curtains, casting an elegant silhouette on the performer.

The next second, Elijah covered him.

The music did not stop there; the fingers moved so smoothly that it seemed like a natural flow, and the soft strands of hair of the same color intertwined and swayed in the same rhythm.

It can be described as a perfect four-handed duet.

As the last notes faded, Elijah gently turned her head and placed a cool kiss on the boy's cheek.
