Am I being targeted?
After being asked the question by Professor Greenwood for the tenth time and answering "I don't know" for the tenth time, Adrian pondered the problem.
Behind him, Ryan, who had been mocking him, turned from gloating to trembling with fear.
Does this professor have some strange fetish? He already looks dark enough, and he only has one eye. He suspects that Adrian will be splattered with blood on the spot the next second because he didn't know for the eleventh time.
Maybe even death won't be the end of it...
After all, the other party is a necromancer; who knows what methods they might have for manipulating souls?
The moment the bell rang, almost everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
Ero's voice stopped abruptly as he looked at his students before the classroom became noisy.
"Vili, come with me."
Rein instinctively grabbed Vili's arm. Adrian was dead, so what did this guy want to do to Vili?
Feeling the force binding him, Vili raised an eyebrow.
"Raine, don't make things difficult for your brother."
Ryan gestured for the other person to let go, and at the same time looked at the professor who was walking over.
"Professor Greenwood is a man of noble character, and he was personally chosen by my brother as his mentor. I believe he would never harm my brother, right?"
He smiled.
"After all, aside from the above relationships, our Russell family and the Greenwood family also have a very good relationship."
"..."
Ero seemed to see two wolf cubs baring their teeth at him; they weren't threatening, just noisy.
So he didn't even glance at them.
“Villie, let’s go back to the lab.” He thought for a moment and then added, “I have a new experimental idea recently.”
After saying that, he walked out of the classroom first.
"Okay, mentor—"
Willie drawled out his words and answered lazily.
He then swung his arm, successfully shaking off Ryan's hand, and chased after him without looking back.
"Looks like they don't take you seriously."
Adrian finally snapped out of his daze of being targeted and put on that insincere, smiling grin.
He didn't explicitly say whether the "other people" he was referring to were Ero or Vili, but the sarcasm was palpable.
"Are you more important than us?"
Ryan was the one who started the provocation, and not wanting his brother to say anything foolish, he pulled him back.
Who knows?
Adrian did not refute, but left calmly.
"Why won't you let me beat him up?"
Ryan pulled his hand away from Ryan's, his tone very unpleasant.
"If you want your father to reprimand your brother for this, then go ahead and do it."
"What's the connection between me beating that guy and the old man...?"
Before he could finish speaking, he realized what he had said.
His Holiness the Holy Son is not like the people he has provoked in the past. If he were to be called in as a parent and the reason for their conflict were found out... then Duke Russell would only be cursing one person.
"……whispering sound."
Renn gritted his teeth and whispered:
"I'll secretly put a burlap sack over him tomorrow."
"Do whatever you want, just don't let anyone find out it was you who did it."
Ryan's tone was indifferent.
"Isn't that a strange reaction?"
Ryan, however, wouldn't let him off the hook. He still remembered the grudge of being impersonated before, and was now much more wary of Ryan.
"Don't you want to participate? In the past, you always took the initiative to make plans for me for these kinds of things, didn't you?"
In particular, this person is their common enemy.
Ryan strongly suspected that Ryan had some other plan, or that he wanted to make both Ryan and Adrian suffer losses so that he could reap the benefits!
At this moment, because of love, his IQ skyrockets.
You're overthinking it.
Ryan showed no sign of guilt at being exposed, and didn't even blink.
In fact, his mind is elsewhere right now.
I always felt that my brother, this professor, seemed a bit strange...
"Really not?"
Renn persisted.
Ryan's thoughts were interrupted. He glanced at him unhappily and suddenly changed the subject.
Why do you never call him "brother"?
Raine was taken aback by his question, but the next second he laughed, his canine teeth brushing against the tip of his tongue, bringing a sharp pain.
His gaze gradually turned cold, as if it were filled with ice shards.
"It's your constant calling me 'brother' that really disgusts me."
Ask yourself honestly, do you really consider him your older brother?
"..."
As if he had already anticipated the other's silence, Ryan walked right past him, and when their shoulders bumped, Ryan heard the other's voice.
"I will never call him brother."
Then, he left without looking back.

Several days later, Willy returned to the familiar laboratory once again, and everything seemed unchanged. His experimental notes from last time were still neatly laid out on the table, with Ero's annotations on them.
I wonder what my supervisor has been busy with lately?
As if knowing what he was thinking, Ero turned around and closed the door before speaking directly.
"sorry."
Willie put down the measuring cup in his hand and raised an eyebrow to look over.
“I…” He paused for a moment, “I can’t do what I promised you last time.”
His face was cold and hard, but the corners of his mouth were downturned, and he even lowered his head, refusing to make eye contact with Willy.
"But I'll keep trying to find a way, you..."
Could you give me a little more time?
