Chapter 38 "Who is he?"

Aetherian responded by applauding him.

"I am almost impressed by your talent. I have often praised you in the past, saying that with your abilities, having you alone is worth more than all the ministers in my court."

"If there are only two smart people left in the whole world, it's you and me."

Willy's fake little tail, which had been wagging high, drooped down after hearing his last sentence.

He snapped out of his daze of the enemy's sweet talk and continued coldly.

"Although I don't know what happened between us in your past, my future, or anything else..."

But based on his experience over the years, it's nothing more than him provoking another pervert...

He didn't do anything!

He forcibly ignored this painful fact and continued:

In the end, you left an imprint on my soul.

That's the only possibility.

Because only the imprint of the soul can transcend time and space, allowing Aetheran to complete this closed loop.

He couldn't imagine why he would condone all of this in the future, even though he should have known that the other party would do this long ago. Thinking of this, he decided to accuse the other party first.

You betrayed my trust!

Vili angrily accused him.

Aetheran stared at the finger the other person was pointing at, somewhat nonchalantly.

If his ministers were present, they would be able to tell what wicked scheme their king was plotting.

"To me, the worst thing is that you've forgotten our past."

He crossed his arms and placed them on his knees. Despite being in a messy laboratory, he seemed to be sitting on a throne.

What do you think?

"My queen?"

As Vili stood there in a daze, the laboratory door was pushed open; it was Ero returning.

Vili was startled awake. Before his mind could process what was happening, his body moved on its own, bracing the door with his foot.

"Mentor—" He used his body weight to resist the force of Ero pushing the door open, "Wait a moment!"

He glanced at the mess in the laboratory, swallowed hard, and thought in despair, "Does this mean that after my magical abilities are questioned, my reputation will also suffer?"

This isn't his territory!

It was just a summoning ritual! How did it turn the mentor's lab into this mess?!

Suddenly, his gaze fell on the most conspicuous object in the room.

Aetheran raised an eyebrow, moved his lips but didn't make a sound, instead a line of words appeared in the air as he mouthed the words.

What's wrong, my sweetheart?

"..."

Vie tried to convey his threat through his eyes, communicating with him in the same way.

This is all your fault; you need to take responsibility!

Noticing the prolonged silence inside, Ero pushed the door open again.

"Vili, are you alright?"

"Is there a problem with the experiment? Don't worry, I'll help you."

He tried to soften his voice, but couldn't hide his worry.

"The experiment...the experiment is fine! It's just that we're at a critical moment during the summoning, so please wait outside for a moment, mentor! It'll be over soon!"

It was rare for Vili to feel so guilty. He felt like he was talking nonsense. The heat rising in his head made his face flushed, and he almost lost his strength in his hands. And just then, Atheran came to make things worse for him.

The former king did not answer, but instead slowly walked to Vili's side. His tall figure loomed over him, and he bent down slightly, extending his large, well-defined hand to cover Vili's hand.

Vili's heart skipped a beat with nervousness. Now he wasn't hot anymore, but he was breaking out in a cold sweat, and the words made of magic were trembling with anger.

【what you do!】

A slight smile played on Etherland's lips as he looked at the pitiful little rabbit in front of him. He almost forcefully stuffed his own hands, one by one, between Vili's fingers, interlocking them.

After asserting his presence in such a forceful manner, he leaned down and pressed his lips close to Willy's earlobe, satisfied to see the crimson spreading across the white jade against the backdrop of dark hair.

He could have continued communicating in writing, but instead he spoke in a slightly hoarse voice, keeping his voice very low.

"What are the benefits?"

"You're always like this... making me do things without giving me any reward..."

His royal lineage meant that every word he uttered was carefully chosen, with some words even using archaic grammar, as if he were reciting a theatrical aria.

"you……"

Vili felt all his strength drain away from the close contact, but Atheran held him tightly, preventing him from falling to the ground.

"what would you like?"

Vili's voice was almost a whisper.

He swore that if the man said anything stupid like "kiss me" again, he would turn around and punch him hard!

As if sensing his thoughts, Atheran chuckled softly.

"What I truly want is never something I can say."

"Hmm—"

Vili bit his lip, suppressing a cry of pain.

Is he... is he a dog?

How dare they...

Inside the thin door, Atheran pinned Vili down, leaving a tooth mark on the back of his neck.

Outside the door, Ero remained in the act of knocking, but his hand froze in mid-air.

He just... seemed to have heard something?

"you--"

Just as Vili was about to reach his breaking point and die with the man behind him, Aetheran finally relented. But before leaving, he didn't forget to gently lick the mark.

My mark.

He glanced at the reddened skin and felt much better.
