Chapter 44 Revelation of His Own Background

Unbeknownst to Vili, in the minds of those around him, the two had already experienced an epic, torturous elopement.

He just touched his hand, which was clenched red with a pang of heartache. He wondered what this guy ate to grow up so strong, like a bear. He struggled desperately but couldn't break free.

Remembering what he had just said about testifying to the king on his behalf, Vili warned in a low voice.

"This has nothing to do with you. You're not allowed to get involved, understand?"

Vili watched as Alexander's expression shifted from determination to confusion, and then to heartache.

He's still so stubborn, wanting to shoulder everything alone...

Despite being such a tall and imposing man, his eyes gradually reddened, giving Willy a chill down his spine.

He sensed that the person in front of him must be thinking something strange.

"..."

"I'm leaving!"

Seeing that Aiden had already left in a hurry, and Hill had turned around to prepare himself, Vili took the opportunity to stand up in one go.

Although it's a pity we won't get to see the touching reunion between father and son later, he still has his own things to do.

He needed to use this time to go see His Majesty the King.

Father—you must stand up for your son!

"you."

Vili reached out and stopped Alexander, who was trying to follow. The man who had just been able to subdue him with ease was now frozen in place as if by magic when faced with this feather-light force.

"You are not allowed to follow me, nor are you allowed to do anything unnecessary, and you are not allowed to tell anyone else, do you understand?"

To avoid attracting attention, Vili leaned down and whispered these words in Alexander's ear.

"..."

Inside the banquet hall, Vili had probably had a few drinks, and Alexander, smelling the faint fragrance, felt as if he were also drunk.

He could only blush and nod dazedly in agreement. It wasn't until the boy had been gone for who knows how long that he finally came to his senses, angrily ruffling his blond hair.

The cold dew soaked through the gaps in his armor, making him look disheveled.

Seeing Aiden and Hill's planned drama unfolding before his eyes, he could only stand there stiffly, praying that it would all end soon.

On the other side, the long-forgotten system finally went online.

Following its directions, Vili found His Majesty the King drinking alone under the moon in the back garden.

"My dear father, you don't seem to be in a good mood?"

"Because he seems to have guessed Aiden's plan, and he's probably lamenting in his heart that his son's rebellion has broken his heart."

The system refreshed the map again.

"He even dismissed all the servants. Host, how do you plan to acknowledge your family?"

The Cerdos royal family doesn't have any rings for testing bloodlines.

"Um……"

Can Vili say he never even thought about that question?

The alcohol he had drunk at the banquet seemed to be taking effect only now. After standing there for a while, Willy actually walked straight up to it.

"Host--"

The system screamed, but Vili simply waved his hand to mute it.

He sauntered up to the king, who looked up with displeasure, but was taken aback when he saw who it was.

"His Majesty."

Vili bowed slightly, a gesture that was not standard, but the king did not mind at all, and even stood up to help the boy.

"Child, what brings you here?"

He clearly recognized Vili's identity.

Willy cleared his throat and delivered his prepared lines.

“My heart has been tormented these past days… Today, perhaps it is the guidance of fate, I have unknowingly come here in my confusion, and just happened to see your dignified yet kind face…”

"I finally couldn't suppress my inner desires anymore."

Willy lowered his head, his voice muffled, as if he were about to cry.

"What...what do you mean by this?"

Despite the familiar language, the king seemed to lose his understanding for a moment. He stared blankly at the boy before him, recognizing familiar features in his face, and froze on the spot.

Vili opened his mouth slightly, about to reveal the truth, but the king suddenly pressed down on his shoulder, causing the boy to swallow his words.

The king seemed agitated; his strength was so great that it looked as if he wanted to bruise Vili's shoulder.

It seems like something has gone off track.

Vili took a step back, breaking free from the emotionally charged king, and tentatively spoke again:

"His Majesty……"

"No!"

The king's voice echoed through the empty garden like a thunderclap, startling even himself.

Fortunately, it was a very remote place and did not attract the attention of anyone else.

The king pinched his brow, seemingly trying to calm himself.

"...Child, perhaps you have misunderstood something."

His speech was disjointed, with often large gaps between sentences, and he carefully considered every word.

"Others may have told you things... but none of that is true. Just know that you are the princess consort recognized by our Serdos family, and no one can threaten your position..."

Even Aiden cannot deny all of this.

"You don't need to worry..."

Willy stood there listening quietly, but his heart was not as calm as he appeared.

"Does he know something?"

Although the king had tried to be as subtle as possible, Vili could tell from the implied meaning that the other party seemed to have known all along...

His true identity.

But his attitude was that he didn't intend to admit it?

Just as Willy was about to say something, another familiar voice came from behind him.

"His Majesty."

The king's words came to an abrupt halt, and he and Vili looked together at the newcomer—

queen.

She seemed completely unsurprised by the scene before her, and even walked up to him affectionately, trying to put her arm around Willie's shoulder, not caring at all when he dodged her.

"So you were here too, Vili."

She turned to the king, gave a casual bow, and smiled, but her words made Vili's heart skip a beat.

"Your Majesty, look at our son, isn't he very handsome?"

“Look at his eyes, they’re exactly the same as Your Majesty’s…”

"..."

Vili suppressed the urge to retort. His appearance was inherited from his original world and had nothing to do with these two!

The seemingly genuine but actually deceptive pretense was exposed, but the king, as if he had expected it, breathed a sigh of relief and echoed his wife's words.

"Yes, I never imagined that so many years have passed and our children have grown up so much."

"..."

The current developments far exceeded Willy's expectations, sobering him up completely.

He pondered for a long time before finally organizing his thoughts.

"Your Majesty, what do you mean by this?"

"Could it be... that you already knew my identity?"
