The next day.
Raine rarely saw his brother at the breakfast table, and he glanced at the time with some surprise.
"I thought it was because I got up early."
"Class time is long over now, why don't you go and play the role of a good student for the teachers?"
Ryan slowly took a sip of hot tea, the steam obscuring his expression.
"I have something to do today and have already asked for leave."
What could you possibly want?
Ryan looked him over suspiciously, but found nothing amiss.
"Then that has nothing to do with you."
Ryan also glanced at the wall clock.
"You woke up at just the right time today. If you go to the academy now, you can make it to the magic theory class that is combined with Hill's class."
Ryan had only taken two bites of his sandwich when he heard this and put it down, puzzled.
"Didn't you say it wasn't that guy? You said the feeling of being treated was different..."
"Actually, I also felt something was off. He only had the smell of incense on him, like he picked it up from spending a lot of time with Aiden. That smell gave me a headache."
He couldn't help but start complaining.
"Besides, talking to him is exhausting. You always have to consider his humble origins and say things he doesn't understand, and he gets upset."
“Does he know what he said to me last time? He said that everything we have now is thanks to our parents, and without them we are nothing.”
"Isn't that obvious? I wouldn't have been born without my parents. They gave birth to me, so of course they'd raise me."
"I really am..."
Ryan tapped the table, interrupting his rambling.
“But we have already checked. No outsiders entered the school that day, and no one else, whether a teacher or another support staff member, was that person.”
"The most likely candidate right now is Hill."
Ryan was getting annoyed, but he couldn't come up with any other ideas, let alone say he would stop looking.
He quickly finished his sandwich in two bites, then stood up, still refusing to admit defeat.
“I heard he’s already with Aiden. If I get close to him now, won’t people think I’m a homewrecker?”
"My reputation has been ruined!"
Ryan looked at him without saying a word, but everything was understood without being spoken.
What reputation do you have left?
"Holy crap..."
Ryan swallowed his curse, glared at Ryan, and walked straight to the front door, not forgetting to leave a harsh remark before he left.
"No matter what, I will never be a mistress!"
Ryan raised his teacup to his retreating figure.
My brother... you'd better keep your word.
Suddenly his ears twitched, the corners of his mouth turned up, and when he turned his head, his expression had completely changed.
He looked up at Willy, who was standing on the steps, looking down at him against the light, and his smile widened.
"elder brother."
"..."
Willie hesitated for two seconds between turning around and leaving and going down to eat, but in the end he walked down the stairs one step at a time and finally chose a seat at the table furthest away from Ryan.
Well, I can't let him go hungry.
There were restaurants in Aetherland, but he got tired of them after a while. The chef hired by the Russell family was said to be a very famous culinary magician, and his dishes had a unique flavor.
He only ate there for one day and was already reluctant to leave.
Surprisingly, while he was engrossed in enjoying his meal, Ryan didn't bother him. Instead, she casually munched on some vegetable leaves, occasionally glancing up at him with an expression that made him seem like just another side dish.
Seeing the table laden with delicious food, Willie decided to ignore him.
As he put down his knife and fork, the sound of silverware clinking came from Ryan's side.
Why didn't you go to class today?
To prevent Ryan from saying anything offensive, Vilnius asked the question first.
"Is my brother concerned about me?"
Ryan's eyes lit up almost immediately.
"...Never mind what I said."
Vili gestured to stop him, regretting that he had spoken so quickly.
I took the day off today.
Ryan, however, wouldn't let him off the hook, continuing as if he hadn't seen anything:
“My brother hasn’t been home for a long time, and I want to show him around the new environment.”
Are you showing off your privileged living conditions to me?
Vili narrowed his eyes.
After all, who needs someone else to introduce them when they go back to their own home?
Ryan was not intimidated by his questioning, but calmly shook his head.
No, that's not it.
"What I'm saying is, perhaps my brother doesn't know, but there's a hidden mechanism in Father's room that can only be opened with a specific code. Inside are countless treasures passed down through the Russell family. I've heard that they're more than enough to build a small country."
"Is brother interested?"
He completely discarded the pretentious mask he wore yesterday, and Willy could tell that he spoke without any affectation, and was completely sincere.
...What a filial son!
but……
"OK."
For the first time, Willie gave Ryan a friendly look, his lips curving upwards in a charming smile.
Ryan felt his heart pounding and laughed. He stood up first.
"Then, brother, come with me."
At the same time, Ryan instinctively pressed his hand to his chest.
"Damn, is Ryan crazy? Did he go for a run for no reason?"
He muttered a curse under his breath.
Hill, who was standing next to him, didn't hear clearly and looked over in confusion.
Ryan shook his head dismissively at him.
At this frequency, Ryan was either doing some strenuous exercise or encountering something that greatly excited him, such as the person who could cure their illness.
