Am I the butcher's henchman?
Vili blinked, and the system quickly prompted:
"Host, that's the original owner's character design!"
"Oh... I forgot."
After all, he has never followed any established persona.
"so what?"
Seeing Xie Liqi lost in his own thoughts, Vili urged him on.
"What does that mean?"
Is it really that hard for the protagonist to accept the fact that he is not a player, but an NPC?
Surely he doesn't have any prejudice against NPCs, and just because he lied to him, he's determined to hunt him down.
Castin saw through Willy's thoughts and suddenly laughed.
"Ha, I think he might not have accepted reality yet, so let me speak for him."
"The players' goal is to leave the game, and the prerequisite for leaving the game is to perform a ritual to seal the evil god."
"The ritual requires three items, including the holy sword."
He pointed to the Thanksgiving period.
"The Holy Bottle".
He then pointed to himself.
"And the sacred stone."
He pointed at Chu Lai, earning a glare from the gloomy hacker.
Finally, one more thing is needed.
"That is to say—"
He looked at Willy, who was sitting in the center, his smile widening, his eyes sparkling with interest.
"Offerings".
"..."
Although he could guess the system's reaction, Vili still couldn't help but speak up.
"original……"
"The original work didn't say that, host!"
The system crashed, and even the sound of electricity started to get mixed in with the sound of speaking.
"Our mission ended as soon as we were killed by the protagonist. We didn't even know there was such a thing as a sacrifice!"
"Hmm."
Vili remained quite calm, as he had never equated the original owner's identity with his own.
"So I was a sacrifice after all."
He nodded, indicating that he understood.
Then he looked at Xie Liqi, who remained motionless, and asked curiously:
"So you took me away to kill me?"
Xie Liqi shuddered and suddenly raised his head. He didn't know when, but his eyes were bloodshot.
"No..." his voice was hoarse, "I never thought of that!"
"I……"
He struggled to his feet, staggering, and nearly fell to the ground again.
"I want to protect you."
Once he said the most important sentence, he finally made up his mind.
“Vili, come with me. I will protect you.”
"I swear on my life..."
"Don't you want to leave this game?"
Before Willie could speak, Castin asked first.
"...It doesn't matter anymore."
Xie Liqi closed his eyes, raindrops streaking his cheeks, making it impossible to tell if they were tears.
"This is my atonement."
His voice was very low, and only he could hear it.
Is that all?
Chu Lai seemed to have regained his spirits and interjected:
"You don't need to worry about protecting my wife."
"I can do it."
So what if he spends his whole life in this game? He's thought about it before, anyway.
“I don’t think you’re worthy of Willy’s trust.”
Castin spoke with a smile.
"You all have clean records and bright futures in real life, right?"
"If you want to settle down in Crimson Town, you have to give up everything in reality... Are you really willing to do that?"
“I’m different.”
He finally got to the point and met Willy's probing gaze.
"From the very beginning, I never thought about leaving this game."
"In fact, I enjoy it all."
He suddenly opened his arms and stood in the rain.
“Killing, bloodshed, betrayal… what a sweet taste this is! I wish I could live here forever.”
"—Together with you."
He completely dropped his pretense, his eyes filled with fervent love.
Willie, you'll never understand what I was thinking the very first second I met you in this bloody game.
I'm thinking...
You are a beautiful demon who does not belong to this world. Therefore, this is my promised land.
My hell, my sins and my hatred.
My paradise, my salvation, and my love.
"..."
This scene seems somewhat familiar.
Willy stood up, looked around, and saw the same love in the eyes of the three very different men.
How similar it is to the last world.
But where exactly did the problem occur?
Suppressing his ominous suspicions, Vili snorted coldly.
"You guys want to stay in this game, but I don't."
He first walked up to Xie Liqi, who was facing him, and extended his fair palm.
"Give me the Holy Sword."
"but……"
"Give me."
With trembling hands, Xie Liqi took out the prop and handed it to Vili.
The boy then walked up to Castin and struck the same pose.
The "detective" wasn't so conflicted; he casually took out the holy bottle and placed it in Willy's palm.
"It's not bad to go back to the real world; there are still too few people in this world."
A strand of hair fell across his forehead, and he revealed a smile still tinged with the stench of blood.
Next up was Chu Lai.
He was the most enthusiastic; before Willie even came over, he took out the props and ran over eagerly.
"Wife, here you go."
"But let's make this clear first."
The moment Willy took it, he suddenly reached out and covered Willy's hand.
"If you're trying to get out of the game by hurting yourself... I'll stop you."
