Birthday

Friday night after school

Xu An "smuggled" into Yu Xia's room.

Of course, Yu Xia hated others entering his room, but this time he agreed after much persuasion from his good deskmate.

He thought he must be bothered by the monthly exam.

"What are you doing at my house?" Yu Xia asked while doing exercises in the last class on Friday.

From elementary school to junior high school, no classmates ever came to his house to play, and he never mentioned it to Ms. Liao Shengnan.

"Hehe, guess what, a good thing!" Xu An laughed and still had time to keep him in suspense.

Yu Xia wasn't very hopeful.

He sneered, crossed out an A on the test paper with a red pen in his left hand, wrote down the correct answer, and habitually put a dot behind it.

"What kind of attitude is this, Xiao Yu?" Xu An pretended to be heartbroken.

"That's the attitude." Yu Xia finally couldn't stand it anymore and raised his hand to slap his deskmate.

Unfortunately, Xu An often got beaten because of his asking-for-a-beating look. After dodging nimbly, Yu Xia's hand didn't hit him, but slammed heavily on the table.

The boy felt pain and pulled his hand back.

Before Xu An could react, he saw Yu Xia turned her face away and not looking at him.

The ears and neck are pink.

Seeing his deskmate's expression, Xu An didn't know whether he should be worried or laughing.

Yu Xia ignored him for the next half of the class.

Then the students in Class 1 saw today that Xu An, who used to be the most outstanding student in their class, coaxed his deskmate for half a class.

Xu An really tried everything.

He folded a small paper crane and placed it on his desk, but it was ruthlessly crushed by his classmate Xiao Yu and thrown into the trash can.

He drew a portrait of his deskmate on a draft book, and when he handed it to him, he decisively destroyed it with a red pen.

He pretended not to know what he saw, and laughed out loud to attract the attention of his deskmate, but ended up being mistaken for a clown.

Is this really frigidity? Are you sure it's not the central air conditioning? Don't let the child get frozen.

Finally, he was coaxed into submission by a box of chocolates.

"Student Xiao Yu."

Yu Xia gave him a warning look. Every part of his face showed that he was saying, "I advise you to speak properly."

"I'm really not even worth a box of chocolates."

“…”

No, Yu Xia said in his heart.

"Yeah, how can we compare? Even if we don't eat chocolate, you're not as good as me if I compare you with anything else."

"Damn it, deskmate, you've successfully broken my heart."

Xu An still had a playful smile on his face.

The bell for the end of get out of class rang with Xu An's last words.

The ringing drowned out the voices.

"What did you say."

Yu Xia turned sideways and seemed to hear Xu An add another sentence.

"No"

"oh"

It just so happened that Yu Xia wasn't the type to get to the bottom of things. Since they weren't talking about it, he decided not to ask.

Yu Xia zipped up her school uniform from the bottom to the top.

Then I put my whole head into the collar. It's almost November and the weather is a little cold.

Xu An followed behind him, and the two of them stood on the platform at the school gate waiting for the school bus to go home.

"Still cold?"

Yu Xia glanced at the person standing next to her.

"Um."

"Wear my coat?"

After Xu An said this, it seemed as if he really wanted to take off his coat.

"No." Yu Xiaka paused for a moment.

Xu An sensed something was wrong, so he put his coat back on, put his hands in his pockets, and moved closer to the boy next to him.

Her lips were almost to his ear.

"What are you afraid of?"

Xu An said in a soft voice.

"You haven't forgotten anything at all."

Yu Xia didn't respond. Having a cold isn't like drinking alcohol, so drinking wouldn't cause blackouts. Except for that morning, when she first woke up, she felt a bit dizzy and couldn't remember anything, but by the afternoon, it was almost completely gone.

It's so embarrassing and corny that I don't even want to remember it.

Yu Xia pushed Xu An's face away with a cold face, and said in a cold tone:

"Less poverty."

“Hahahahahahahaha”

Xu An watched the blush slowly creeping up Xiao Yu's ears, and he found it very funny because he was standing very close to him.

Ms. Liao Shengnan doesn’t know what time she will come back at night.

Xu An closed the door of Yu Xia's room.

There are many schedules on the wall of Yu Xia's room. They are not really schedules, but there are many schedules listing the things he needs to complete.

There are things that are far away that will have to wait until later, and there are also things that can be done now.

The writing was striking, and although it was Yu Xia's handwriting, it was still as sloppy as the wind, but it was clear that he was not in a good mood when he wrote this paper. The words were written with such heavy strokes that they almost pierced the paper.

Behind the door, besides some scarves and other things hanging, there is also a calendar.

There was a small mark circled in red on the last few days of the calendar. The writing was very small, as if he didn't really want others to see it, just to remind himself.

17th birthday.

While Yu Xia was inspecting her room to see if there was anything she couldn't see, Xu An secretly wrote down the date.

It’s Xiao Yu’s birthday.

Fortunately I made it in time.

"Come on, tell me, what did you find?" Yu Xia finally chose to sit on the bed and gave the stool to Xu An.

Xu An is a little absent-minded now.

There were still scars on the inside of Yu Xia's left hand. Although he liked to take off his coat recently, he didn't leave everything exposed except a long sleeve.

Xu An was mesmerized by the scars.

The wounds on Yu Xia's hands were all old, with new ones appearing on top. The combination of the new and old wounds was truly shocking.

Yu Xia didn't even know when she'd cut herself. She'd been working on a test paper when her "pen" accidentally slashed her wrist. She'd heard Ms. Liao Shengnan's voice through the door, and only realized it when blood dripped onto the floor.

But he chose not to stop.

The pain can make me feel alive

Xu An was still wondering where he had put the small medicine bottle.

"Xu An?"

Yu Xia's voice finally brought him back to his senses.

"Hehe! I forgot, sorry." Xu An went to get the things in his schoolbag.

That is a set of papers.

Because the questions were all very rigorous, and some of the papers even matched the questions for the high school entrance examination at that time, this set of papers was discontinued for unknown reasons.

Yu Xia was a little surprised. He had thought that his good deskmate would come up with something outrageous.

He took the test paper from the person opposite him and started working on it.

Quite natural.

Xu An watched his deskmate working on the draft book on the desk, almost all of them were difficult problems.

Yu Xia didn't know someone was watching him and was still working on the formula in his draft book.

Xu An watched quietly.

Suddenly, the only sound in the room was the sound of a black water-based pen drawing horizontal lines on a notebook.

There was also the sound of two boys breathing.

There was still a hustle and bustle outside the glass window, the busy streets were flashing with lights, the fluorescent lights of the store signs were reflected on the wall through the glass, and there was not a single star in the silent sky.

"We need to study after the monthly exam." When Yu Xia reached into her schoolbag to get a red pen, she took out her phone and took a look at the message.

I took out the red pen and before I put the lid back on, I was caught off guard by a message.

"Are you going?" Xu An asked back.

"Me? I've never been there, so I don't know." He really didn't know. When he was in elementary and junior high school, he would go to places like this with two good friends, sitting together and playing together.

Apart from a few acquaintances in elementary school, he rarely made friends after junior high school.

It's not that she doesn't want to, it's that she doesn't have the time. Xiaoyu's daily schedule was planned by Ms. Liao Shengnan from the beginning, and she wouldn't allow anything to disrupt it.

"Go ahead." Xu An turned his head and smiled freely.

Yu Xia took a look and didn't reply. She just checked the answer with a red pen and made a few ticks.

A few minutes passed.

"Let me ask."

Maybe. I wonder if Ms. Liao Shengnan will let him go based on his performance in this monthly exam.

Oh, the monthly exam.

Yu Xia seemed to suddenly remember something: "Come here."

Xu An was a little confused, but he still followed, and the two of them walked back and forth in the room.

Yu Xia found the extracurricular books on the bedside table from the books on the desk, and then went to look through the books in a small box.

Finally, I found a loose-leaf notebook on the table next to the bedside table.

"What is this?"

"Notes." The loose-leaf notebook in Yu Xia's hand was where he had compiled those difficult and overly difficult questions since his freshman year of high school.

The questions in City A where he was previously were a little different from the ones he is facing now, but they were still quite difficult.

"You call this a note?" Xu An took it and flipped through it.

How could this be a notebook? It's like a complete solution to the Mathematical Olympiad. It's just a little incomplete.

"Although my math is not worse than yours, but is this the only thing that has improved your math?"

"No, I wrote it down when I was bored."

Yu Xia sat back down.

Xu An took a look at the notebook, folded back some of the corners, and put it in his schoolbag.

Xiao Yu has seen his draft book. Xu An mainly studied the textbook and the questions on how to apply what he had learned to other situations. When faced with questions that were beyond the syllabus, they only appeared in the fill-in-the-blank questions because they were too far beyond the syllabus. So he did not take any research.

Lost some points more or less.

"Student Xiao Yu"

Yu Xia definitely didn't understand where this nickname came from. Did he look particularly young?

"It better be something."

"Thanks."

Yu Xia hummed without looking back, then picked up the red pen to correct the wrong question.

Xu An put his head close to his and watched the hand holding the red pen, leaving beautiful yet sloppy handwriting on the draft paper.

I seem to have forgotten why I came here in the first place. After sharing the test paper, I agreed to do my homework. It can't be helped, because Xiao Yu's homework is better than mine. Xu An thought to himself.

"Don't you have anything to do?" Yu Xia looked back.

"Oh, oh, yes." He was almost at a loss, and ran to his schoolbag in a panic to pull out an extracurricular book.

Yu Xia frowned and looked at him.

Some people still think that he is pretending to be very reserved. He pretended to accidentally see Xiao Yu,

"What are you looking at me for?"

"You're holding the book upside down."

After listening to this, Xu An was stunned for a moment, not knowing whether to put the book back. Finally, he turned around and continued to look at it, glancing at it from time to time.

"Ahem, do you understand my strength? I can understand it even if I watch it backwards!"

"Who the hell would you believe that?"

Xu An laughed lightly. Yu Xia looked at this idiot and laughed, and then probably laughed at his own words.

The piece of paper that had been squeezed in his hand was later posted by Xu An on the wall next to the desk:
