Ah Zi felt so much pain, so much cold. Why was this happening? Why was Ah Cheng doing this to her? And why did he have so many women? Didn't he dismiss his harem? How could these women be so wicked?
She looked at herself in her dream, sitting in the snow, pitiful and miserable, with no one to care for her, and everyone able to bully and humiliate her at will. She gasped for breath, wanting to escape this overly real and painful dream, but she couldn't get out.
Just when she was at her wit's end, a sharp pain shot through her, and she finally escaped the nightmare. Exhausted, she opened her eyes, still breathing heavily. Before her stood her Ah Cheng, and she cried out in anguish, "My husband..."
Di Jingcheng wished he could take her place. He quickly pulled her into his arms and gently coaxed her, his body trembling with fear. "Azi, my Azi, you're finally awake. Without you, your husband would die."
"What's wrong, my baby? Did you have a nightmare? Don't cry, don't cry, I'm here, don't be afraid, don't be afraid..."
Everyone who witnessed this scene felt both moved and heartbroken.
Once Azi calmed down, she kept staring at Di Jingcheng, clinging to him tightly with both hands, as if afraid he would leave. The dream was both terrifying and real. She hadn't recovered yet.
To cheer her up, Di Jingcheng put on a smile and gently stroked her long, shiny black hair: "Baby, did you dream of a big monster?"
Azi just nestled in his arms, hugging him tightly, looking up at him, and shaking her head.
"Then let the imperial physician administer acupuncture first, shall we?" He looked at her tenderly, wanting to remove her hand from his waist to insert the needles. Azi thought he was about to leave, her eyes darted around in a panic, and she quickly hugged his waist tightly.
She pouted, looking aggrieved. "Where are you going?!" she cried, her expression filled with fear. "Don't go!"
Di Jingcheng was startled. What was wrong? Had the Cold Palace really upset her? He quickly replied, "Alright, alright, I'll hold you. I didn't mean to leave. The imperial physician was going to apply acupuncture to the acupoints on your hand, so I was trying to take your hand off."
Azi let out a soft moan of discomfort, indicating her refusal, and buried her face in his chest.
Di Jingcheng sighed helplessly, but remained patient and gentle: "Alright, alright, no need for acupuncture. Is there anything uncomfortable on your body, my darling?"
Azi gently shook her head.
Di Jingcheng gave the imperial physician a look, and he understood before leaving. Qinghe and Zheng San brought in the dinner, and Di Jingcheng sat on the bed with her in his arms.
"Baby, what's wrong? Tell your husband." Di Jingcheng didn't want her to keep herself so bored.
"Hmm? Our little Azi is so wronged, and your husband is standing up for you? Tell your husband about it?"
"Baby~, Azi?"
"You must be tired after walking all day. Shall we have some food first?"
Azi still did not respond.
"The food smells delicious. My husband is getting hungry. Where is Azi?"
"Since Azi isn't hungry, let's eat it later."
Di Jingcheng talked to himself, and although the person in his arms didn't speak, he wasn't annoyed. The person in his arms was clearly insecure, and he was waiting for her to open up. Talking to her would make her feel more at ease.
Di Jingcheng patted the back of her head, touched their child, and then touched her hand on his waist. He lowered his head to kiss the top of her head and gently patted her back, as if he were coaxing a child, spoiling her rotten.
Time passed slowly, and although the little girl in his arms did not move, Di Jingcheng knew that she was scared and could not sleep.
It was already dark outside. A palace servant came in to light the lamps. The food on the table had gone cold, so Qinghe ordered it to be taken away.
"Baby, are you really not hungry? The little one in your tummy must be hungry. Shall we eat first?"
Ah Zi finally reacted, not because of the child, but because she was indeed a little hungry. She raised her head, her eyes full of dependence: "Hungry."
Emperor Jingcheng was overjoyed and immediately ordered Qinghe to prepare a meal. Azi still didn't say much, lazily holding the man; she couldn't leave him for a moment, she was truly afraid.
The meal was laid out, and Di Jingcheng picked her up. His body was a little stiff, but he moved around a bit and felt much more comfortable.
“Honey, look up at today’s dishes.”
Azi pouted. What could it be? It was nothing more than the blandest of the bland dishes. She glanced to the side, sniffed, and a flicker of joy flashed in her eyes before dimming again: "Didn't you say... I'm pregnant, I can't..."
“My darling, it’s not because of the baby, I’m worried about your health. In my heart, you will always be number one!” Di Jing said earnestly.
Ah Zi was very happy; she was possessive too!
"The imperial physician said that in the first few months, he was worried that the baby would grow too big and that you were a bit weak, so you couldn't eat whatever you wanted. Now that you're about to give birth, it won't have any impact, as long as you don't overeat."
"Alright." Azi sighed slightly, as long as she could eat it.
This dinner was arguably the most enjoyable meal Azi had had in a while, and she completely forgot about the nightmare she had just experienced during the meal. But after finishing her meal, Azi started feeling unwell again.
The two embraced in the white jade bath, wisps of steam rising around them. The two in the hot spring looked like celestial beings, perfectly matched. Di Jingcheng gently washed Azi's body, occasionally taking advantage of her and enjoying the moment immensely.
Azi leaned against his chest listlessly, and Di Jingcheng, seeing her hesitant expression, was not in a hurry.
“Ah Cheng…”
"Hmm?" The man planted a warm, wet kiss on the girl's shoulder, making her tremble involuntarily.
