Chapter 141 Antidote

Azi raised her little hand to cover her mouth, her big eyes rolling around: "This is too horrifying!"

"How could such a fantastical thing exist in the world?" Azi thought about it and found it increasingly bizarre.

"Don't worry, baby. What does it matter if she's some kind of otherworldly soul? It's none of our business." Di Jingcheng patted her little head affectionately, then looked at Cheng Er.

Has the antidote been found?

"Your Majesty, Liu Xinqi did not carry the antidote with him. However, a messenger from outside the palace reports that there seems to be some activity tonight."

"Don't alert them. You should know what to do."

"Your subject understands." Cheng Er's resolute figure disappeared into the hall. A Zi was still immersed in the shock just now and continued to discuss the matter with Di Jingcheng.

"Cheng, do you believe in these otherworldly souls? Is it really possible for someone to enter another person's body?"

“My dear, the world is a vast and wondrous place. This person’s words are not entirely unbelievable. After Mu Wanyu fell into the water, her personality changed drastically, and her behavior became even more bizarre. I suppose this is the reason.” Di Jingcheng replied thoughtfully.

Azi thought about it for a moment and nodded seriously: "That's true."

Di Jingcheng didn't want her to worry about these trivial matters, so he picked up a storybook and started reading it to her.

"Sweetie, listen to your husband tell you a story. Last time we talked about a couple who went on a trip..."

Azi was initially thinking about Mu Wanyu, but her attention was soon drawn to Di Jingcheng's melodious voice. Azi grew drowsy listening to him, and nestled in Di Jingcheng's arms, drifting off to sleep with a sweet smile on her lips.

Di Jingcheng put down the notebook in his hand, gently stroked her soft, long hair, and kissed her beautiful face with affection. After looking at her for a while, he gently picked her up and placed her in the warm, soft bedding, carefully covering her with the blankets.

In the middle of the night, in the water dungeon, Liu Xinqi and Cai Ning remained silent. The guards stood watch in the corridor, torches blazing on the walls.

In the silence, the guards suddenly collapsed, unconscious. Five men in black sneaked in, vigilantly guarding the surroundings.

The leader of the men in black was Liu Xinqi's confidant. He searched the fallen guards and finally found the key to open Liu Xinqi's cell.

He stepped forward and opened the door: "Master!"

Liu Xinqi, his mind still hazy, seemed to hear the voices of his subordinates. He slowly raised his head and saw those familiar eyes. But then, remembering something, he managed to shout in a hoarse voice, "What are you doing here? Get out of here!"

Several people entered the water dungeon, waded into waist-deep water, and lowered the person down: "Master, we'll take you away from here first."

Several men carried the barely alive Liu Xinqi out, their steps hurried, and everything seemed to be going smoothly. After walking a short distance, Liu Xinqi remembered that Cai Ning was still in the water dungeon.

"Save, that, that woman." He pointed with difficulty at Cai Ning, who had already fainted.

"Master, let's go outside first. That woman has nothing to do with us." The subordinate said, and continued to lead him outside.

Ten meters from the exit of the water prison, the gate was suddenly slammed shut, and the light inside the water prison became even brighter. The guards who had been lying unconscious on the ground got up and approached them, surrounding the six people.

Di Jingcheng led Cheng Er down from the pavilion, casually glancing at Liu Xinqi, whose body was covered in sores, and chuckled, "You've come all this way, are you just going to leave like this?"

"Di Jingcheng, you despicable scoundrel!" Liu Xinqi's confidant cursed.

"Insolence!" Cheng Er shouted coldly.

Liu Xinqi looked up with difficulty at the spirited Di Jingcheng, his low, hoarse voice full of exhaustion: "Di Jingcheng, I... I admit defeat. Release that palace maid and them, and I will give you the antidote."

"Master!" his subordinate cried out anxiously.

Di Jingcheng stood with his hands behind his back and slowly walked forward: "Hand over the antidote first, and everything can be discussed."

Liu Xinqi gave his confidant a look. After hesitating for a long time, the confidant pulled out a medicine packet from his pocket with a face full of resentment, clutching it tightly in his hand, unwilling to give it away like that.

Cheng Er stepped forward, snatched the antidote from his hand, opened it, and smelled it: "Your Majesty."

Di Jingcheng took it, looked at it, and put it away. He smiled at the group, a mysterious smile that left them guessing.

"Alright, this farce is over. Serve them well, don't let them feel neglected." Di Jingcheng turned and left; he was going to verify the authenticity of the antidote. If Liu Xinqi dared to play any tricks, then neither of them would survive.

Cheng Er ordered them to be imprisoned in a water dungeon, leaving only the first-class men to curse and swear.

After Emperor Jingcheng left, he took the antidote to Emperor Jingyuan's palace. Zheng He'er took the antidote from the emperor and placed it in the hands of the imperial physician, watching the physician examine it nervously.

A group of imperial physicians smelled and tasted the food, and after discussing it for half a day, they finally reached a conclusion.

Di Jingcheng looked worriedly at Di Jingyuan, who was still unconscious, and anxiously asked the imperial physician, "How is he?"

The imperial physician's face lit up with joy: "Your Majesty, this is indeed the antidote, but there is only half of it here, and it cannot completely remove all the red poison from the prince's body."

"Then what should we do?" Di Jingcheng really wanted to torture Liu Xinqi and his men severely for being so cunning.

"We need to prepare the remaining antidote based on this one, which will take some time. But please rest assured, Your Majesty, we will be able to prepare the antidote within three hours," the imperial physician assured him confidently, patting his chest.

"That's good, that's good! Go quickly, go quickly, use whatever medicinal herbs are needed! The prince is alright, you will all be richly rewarded!" Di Jingcheng's worries were finally relieved, this was the best news, he had to hurry and tell Azi!

He instructed the imperial physicians and palace servants to take good care of Emperor Jingyuan, then turned and left. The sky outside was beginning to lighten; it was the third day, and the antidote was ready!
