Chapter 142 Rescue

Azi whimpered and moaned for a while, then gradually calmed down with the man's gentle coaxing.

Di Jingcheng took the damp handkerchief from Qinghe and gently wiped her face and hands. Azi obediently stretched out her hand, her little face still flushed.

Suddenly, Azi felt a leg cramp and pouted in discomfort. Di Jingcheng immediately threw away the handkerchief in his hand and started massaging her leg.

"My darling, you've really worked hard."

Ah Zi felt so unwell that she didn't want to talk, but her stomach was growling: "I'm hungry~"

"Your Highness, I've already prepared the meal, I'll bring it in right away!" Qinghe hurriedly went out carrying a basin, and the palace maids came in from outside, setting out the breakfast in an orderly fashion.

Di Jingcheng carried her over and began to feed her carefully. Azi held a small steamed bun in her little hand, taking a small bite every now and then and chewing slowly.

"Ah Cheng, are you going to court today?"

Emperor Jingcheng blew on the porridge in the spoon to cool it down and fed it to her little mouth, smiling knowingly: "No need, I've been busy dealing with the things from the past few days, so the ministers don't need to come to the palace all the time."

"Hmm. Let's go see Prince Yuan after breakfast!" Azi still had some concerns.

"Alright, I'll have them prepare the sedan chair."

After finishing their breakfast and washing up, the two headed to the Showa Palace. They stopped at the palace gate, and Emperor Jingcheng carefully helped Azi down, supporting her belly with one hand so that she could lean her whole body against him.

"Baby, should we still carry her?" Di Jingcheng looked at her heavy body, feeling very worried.

"It's alright, walking around makes me feel better." Azi felt that lying down every day was making her bones feel weak. The imperial physician didn't say anything more; it should be nothing serious.

"Watch your step, slow down! Lower the sedan chair a bit!" Di Jingcheng was extremely worried, constantly muttering to himself.

As the two stepped out of the sedan chair, a stranger who seemed familiar yet approached them was Gong Yuhan. What was he doing here?

Di Jingcheng's gaze was anything but friendly; he glanced at him briefly before looking away, his entire focus on Azi. Azi also noticed the newcomer, but her expression remained indifferent, as if it were unimportant.

"Greetings, Your Majesty and Your Highness!" Gong Yuhan bowed respectfully.

"Hmm, is the Prince of Nanling also here to visit Prince Yuan?" Di Jingcheng said casually.

"Exactly."

Di Jingcheng nodded, then ignored him and slowly walked inside with Azi in his arms.

The Prince of Nanling straightened up, looking at the petite woman nestled in Di Jingcheng's arms. Her beauty remained unchanged, even more captivating than before. He hadn't expected her belly to be so large; she must be about to give birth. Sigh…

He quietly followed behind and went inside.

Di Jinghan arrived early in the morning. She was overjoyed to hear from the imperial physician that the antidote was being prepared and that Di Jingyuan could be saved. She stayed close to the physician, watching intently, both nervous and excited.

When the Emperor and Empress entered, Di Jinghan was still in the side hall preparing medicine with the imperial physician.

"Go and check on the progress of the antidote preparation," Di Jingcheng ordered.

Zheng He II: "Yes."

Emperor Jing, concerned that A Zi was tired, picked her up and carried her into the main hall, placing her on a soft couch: "We'll wait here."

"Mmm!" Azi nodded.

Gong Yuhan sat to one side drinking tea, while palace servants came and went, reporting to the emperor from time to time. The imperial physicians were also extremely busy, and Azi and Di Jingcheng chatted casually.

Gong Yuhan kept a close eye on the two of them out of the corner of her eye. She had already drunk five cups of tea. Half an hour had passed when Di Jinghan excitedly ran in!

"Brother, sister-in-law! The antidote is ready!" Her little face flushed with excitement, and her slightly red eyes were filled with tears.

Azi grabbed the man's hand and tried to get up, and both of them couldn't help but smile.

The imperial physician entered the next moment, carrying the antidote. The group, led by the emperor and empress, entered Emperor Jingyuan's bedchamber, and the imperial physician fed Emperor Jingyuan the antidote.

A group of people watched nervously as the imperial physician took the patient's pulse and administered acupuncture.

"How is it?" Di Jingcheng frowned, his heart pounding.

After much discussion, the imperial physicians, sweating profusely, finally found their efforts worthwhile.

"Your Majesty, Your Highness, Princess, please rest assured, the Prince is no longer in mortal danger, but there is still residual poison in his body. We will administer acupuncture to the Prince to remove the remaining poison."

"Good! Good! The Imperial Hospital will reward everyone! Make sure the Prince is safe and sound!" Di Jingcheng breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that his younger brother on the bed was finally alright. He was very happy, and Azi no longer needed to worry about it.

Azi smiled happily, "That's great, it's good that Your Highness is alright."

Di Jinghan excitedly stepped forward and sat down next to Di Jingyuan. As soon as he sat down, he slowly opened his eyes. She was both surprised and delighted: "Second brother! You're awake!"

Everyone rushed over. Di Jingyuan looked weakly at the joyful faces of the crowd, his gaze finally settling on Azi. She was safe and sound, and her child was also alright. Now he could finally rest easy.

"Jingyuan, how are you feeling?" Emperor Jingcheng glanced at the imperial physician, who immediately stepped forward to take his pulse.

Emperor Jingyuan had barely drunk any water these past few days, and his voice was hoarse and weak: "Your Majesty, Your Majesty, please rest assured, I am fine."

Di Jingcheng smiled knowingly and nodded.

"Your Majesty, the Prince is just a little weak, but he is fine."

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Gong Yuhan, as an outsider, felt out of place, standing on the outside of the crowd looking in. He saw that Di Jingyuan's eyes were only on Azi, and Azi smiled because of his awakening. Di Jingcheng didn't seem jealous at all. The scene was so harmonious.

He might even crave such a gaze and smile; she would probably never look at him in this lifetime. He silently withdrew, and only went in to visit Di Jingyuan after everyone had left.
