Chapter 149 Azi's Breaking Cry

Azi really did fall asleep, and she was quite satisfied, thinking that Di Jingcheng had truly let her go.

To her surprise, she felt someone kissing her all night, which made her very upset and unable to sleep properly.

She opened her eyes and looked down, her eyes moist. She sighed softly and spoke in a hoarse, aggrieved tone, "How could you do this?"

Di Jingcheng's heart skipped a beat; he had woken her up! He raised his head, slowly pulled her into his arms, and looked at her aggrieved little face, his heart aching as he lowered his head.

"Baby, I'm sorry, I was wrong. Go to sleep now, I promise I'll never do it again!" Di Jingcheng really didn't dare to do it again this time, gently patting her back to coax her to sleep.

Azi started to feel aggrieved, her little body trembling, and Di Jingcheng was heartbroken! That damned Di Jingyuan, why did he bring him soup!

"Okay, okay, don't cry, it's all your fault! Hit me, Azi, hit me..." Di Jingcheng coaxed gently, taking her little hand and placing it on his face.

Azi forcefully pulled her hand back, opened her hazy eyes and looked at him. She noticed some liquid at the corner of his mouth, and suddenly burst into tears, unable to stop.

Di Jingcheng froze in shock. What was going on all of a sudden? He frantically wiped away her tears, saying, "Baby, baby, I'll never do it again. Don't cry, don't cry, okay?"

Di Jingcheng thought carefully for a moment, wondering if he had hurt her by being too rough, so he quickly went to check her body. Azi thought he was going to do something again, and was so frightened that she pulled her blanket tighter around herself.

"Ah! Di Jingcheng, you beast! How could you do this? I already said I didn't want it!"

Di Jingcheng's hands hung helplessly in the air as he watched A Zi, wrapped in a blanket, shrink pitifully into the bed, looking as if she were guarding against a thief.

"Azi, I didn't. I just wanted to check if you were hurt. I didn't mean to..."

Azi pointed her finger at him fiercely, sniffing her bright red little nose: "You still dare to talk! You still dare to talk!"

"Okay, okay, I won't say it, I won't say it! Don't cry!" Di Jingcheng sat obediently on the edge of the bed, not daring to go forward.

Ah Zi cried so hard she was heartbroken. She hugged the blanket and cried for a while, then buried her face in the blanket until her cheeks turned red.

The palace servants on night duty outside were startled by the Empress's crying, but they dared not go in unless the Emperor and Empress summoned them, and they kept looking up curiously.

Di Jingcheng was heartbroken and extremely distressed. He tried to step forward, and after A Zi repeatedly shook off his hands, he finally managed to hold her in his arms.

Azi stubbornly turned her back to him, gently wiping her tears with the blanket, her body trembling, looking utterly pitiful.

Di Jingcheng sincerely apologized again and promised not to do anything reckless, only then did Azi allow him to hold her properly. He picked Azi up, had the palace servants come in to change the bedding, and then lay down on the bed with her in his arms.

Azi gently scratched his chest, complaining, "You, you weren't like this before!" She pouted, feeling that this man had changed a lot since before she had the child. He used to respect her wishes, but now he didn't care at all.

Di Jingcheng blinked guiltily, "Azi, haven't I always been like this?"

"You still say that if I said no before, you wouldn't act like this, and even if you did act like this, you wouldn't be so unreasonable and domineering." Azi stared at him intently, as if trying to find out something fishy.

"Really? Maybe the baby was holding back for too long during the pregnancy," Di Jingcheng said seriously.

"Really? How did you live your life before you met me? You said you never touched those women, were you lying to me?" Azi asked suspiciously.

Seeing the smoke of war rising everywhere, Di Jingcheng quickly shook his head: "How could that be? My husband only thinks like this with my Azi, and only when he's with Azi does he think like this. My darling, you can't misunderstand me."

"That's more like it!"

Di Jingcheng watched her expressive face, her every pout and tantrum so vivid. Suddenly, he leaned close to her ear mysteriously and said, "Baby, these kinds of things are addictive."

Azi asked, puzzled, "Hmm?"

“Didn’t you ask me how I spent the first twenty-odd years of my life? If the desires that you didn’t cultivate wouldn’t have existed in the first twenty-odd years of my life.”

"You really are something else, you never talk about this! Go to sleep!" Azi shouted, burrowing into the covers and closing her eyes.

Di Jingcheng knew he wasn't angry, and chuckled softly with pleasure: "My darling is shy!?"

Azi's muffled voice came from under the covers: "No."

"Yes, there is!"

"No, go to sleep! Otherwise, I'll have them bring Chu'er over so she can sleep with us every day!" Azi threatened.

"My husband listens to his darling the most. Go to sleep!"

Finally, the noisy emperor and empress fell asleep in each other's arms. Outside, the palace servants covered their mouths, yawned, and closed their eyes to rest quietly.

The next day, while Emperor Jingcheng and Azi were having breakfast, Emperor Jingyuan returned early in the morning.

Di Jingcheng looked at Di Jingyuan carrying the little prince and walking back and forth in front of him with annoyance: "Why are you acting like he's the son?"

"Brother, what did you say? By the way, doesn't Brother have to attend the morning court today?" Emperor Jingyuan held the little prince and bounced him around, babbling along with him, while shaking a rattle drum in his hand.

Di Jingyuan's face darkened, but he ignored him and focused on peeling shrimp for Azi. Azi glanced at Di Jingyuan and her son beside her, then at her own man, and smiled helplessly.

"How does Prince Yuan manage to come over every day?" Azi was also a little curious.

Emperor Jingyuan smiled gently: "Sister-in-law, with my brother holding court every three days, I naturally have some free time. Besides, Chu'er is so adorable. I'm all alone, and seeing Chu'er makes me happy. I hope you won't mind me bothering you?"

Azi smiled and said, "How could that be? Chu'er also enjoys playing with you!"

Di Jingcheng threw his chopsticks on the table and glanced at his younger brother indifferently: "Don't forget what you promised me, brother. Don't slack off every day."

"Don't worry, Your Majesty, there will still be time to play with Chu'er!"

"Chu'er needs to be fed!" Di Jingcheng glared at Di Jingyuan.

Emperor Jingyuan smiled as he handed the child to the wet nurse, then shook his sleeves and said, "Your Majesty, I will come to see Chu'er again later. Your Majesty, I shall take my leave now!"

Di Jingcheng waved his hand, wishing he would leave quickly. He couldn't stop him from coming, and even if Azi disagreed, given their two lifetimes of friendship, he wouldn't hold any grudges against Jingyuan.

Besides, it seems his younger brother has now shifted his focus entirely to Chu'er, giving her a sense of emotional support, which is for the best. This way, his feelings won't burden A'Zi, nor will they cause him pain.

Azi was unaware of the tension between the two brothers, but she was indeed getting a better impression of Di Jingyuan. It was a good thing that Chu'er had more people to dote on her.
