Chapter 154 The Question of Who Will Hold Chu'er

Three days later, Azi's family entered the palace. Two luxurious carriages swayed and rattled into the palace. Upon hearing the news, Azi pulled Emperor Jingcheng to the palace gate early in the morning to wait, eagerly anticipating their arrival.

After waiting for half an hour, the carriage arrived. She let go of Di Jingcheng's hand and ran forward excitedly, "Father, Mother, Grandpa! Brother Yimeng!"

Those inside the carriage were thrilled to hear Azi's lively and excited voice. They quickly lifted the curtain and saw Azi standing prettily beside the carriage, waiting for them. Nalan Mingzhu and Ranlayobu helped each other out, and palace servants immediately helped them down. Azi happily threw herself into her parents' arms.

The couple caught their daughter safely, and the three of them embraced tightly, their eyes slightly red, filled with endless longing. Emperor Jingcheng didn't disturb their family reunion; watching them also reminded him of his own father and mother.

The carriage behind carried Yimeng and Azi's grandfather. Di Jingcheng quickly went over to help him down. The old man, supported by Yimeng and Di Jingcheng, got off the carriage, his wrinkled face full of smiles, with tears welling up in his eyes: "Good, good, good, as long as everything is alright. Acheng, I hope you are all well!"

"Grandpa, don't worry, Azi, the child, and I are all fine. We're just waiting for you all to reunite!"

"Good, good, good." The old gentleman nodded happily. He looked around the magnificent palace and looked at Di Jingcheng with satisfaction. He was truly a good grandson-in-law.

Yimeng then returned to the carriage and helped a woman down, her movements full of tenderness: "Ana, be careful."

Azi hugged her parents for a long time before letting go. She wouldn't have let go if her grandfather hadn't come over. As soon as she released her parents, she rushed into her grandfather's arms, crying tears of joy: "Grandpa, I missed you so much! Did you miss Azi?"

The old man stumbled after being tackled by her, but fortunately Di Jingcheng caught them both in time.

The old man hugged his beloved granddaughter and gently patted her back: "Of course Grandpa misses Azi! I miss her terribly. Let me see, has Cheng fattened you up or made you thin!"

As the old man spoke, he gently pushed her aside, looked her up and down, and nodded with satisfaction: "Good, good, you've gained weight, that's good, you're healthy. Ah Cheng has put in the effort!" He gave Di Jingcheng an approving look.

"Grandpa, don't worry, Azi will only get fatter, not thinner."

Azi poked his arm in annoyance: "Who's fat!" She glared at him in frustration, forbidding him from calling her fat.

"Alright, alright, Azi isn't fat." Di Jingcheng quickly begged for mercy, but his smile remained undiminished. Azi hugged her grandfather's arm and shook it: "Grandpa, look, he's bullying me!"

Nalan Mingzhu and Ranlayobu exchanged a glance and shook their heads slightly. It seemed that Acheng was completely under their thumb.

Grandpa gently patted her little face: "You, you're a mother now, yet you're still so childish."

Azi snorted softly, "I don't care, anyway, I'll always be a child in Grandpa's eyes, and still Daddy and Mommy's little darling!"

"Alright, alright." The three elders were quite helpless. Azi glanced triumphantly at Di Jingcheng, who smiled indulgently.

Remembering that Brother Yimeng was still there, Azi peeked back and was pleasantly surprised to see a girl next to him, the two holding hands, looking very sweet.

"Brother Yimeng, is this your sister-in-law?"

Yi Meng stepped forward and generously introduced his wife to A Zi and Di Jingcheng: "This is Ana. A Zi, do you remember her? We got married a month ago."

Ana greeted us in broken Chinese, and Azi stepped forward and took Ana's arm: "I know Ana, we're from the same village, we see each other often. I never thought that Brother Yimeng would marry our beautiful Ana."

Yimeng smiled shyly, and exchanged a tender glance with Anna, everything unspoken. Anna also lowered her head shyly, holding Azi's hand tightly.

"It's windy here, let's go back and talk slowly." Di Di Jing Cheng stepped forward and put his arm around A Zi. He had let go of her for a long time, and he had to get her back quickly.

Azi returned Ana to Yimeng, and the group chatted and laughed as they headed towards the main hall.

Nalan Mingzhu surveyed the imperial city. Although she had never set foot in it before, she felt a sense of familiarity, as if she were returning home, being in the capital. Ranlayobu and his companions had never been to the capital, let alone the imperial palace. They were already stunned by the palace's magnificence and grandeur, utterly amazed. It was a splendor they had never seen before.

Azi was being carried by Di Jingcheng as they walked beside her mother. She was telling her about Chu'er, her excitement seemingly tireless. Di Jingcheng had never known she could talk so much and was worried that she might get tired.

Everyone chatted and laughed along the way, and soon they returned to the main hall.

Azi held Nalan Mingzhu's hands: "Mother, you must be tired. Why don't you go and rest for a while before going to see Chu'er?"

Di Jingcheng also agreed: "Grandpa, Father, Mother, Yimeng, you must be tired after your long journey. Why don't you do as Azi said and go and rest for a while?"

Grandpa waved his hand: "We've been resting in the carriage for quite a while now. Let's check on Chu'er first, then we can rest!"

"Yes, let's see our little grandson first. Azi, you don't need to worry about us." Ranlayobu was only thinking about seeing his little grandson and didn't care about resting at all.

Azi nodded and instructed Qinghe to bring Chu'er over.

The emperor and empress, along with their families, sat down in the front hall, where palace servants immediately came to serve tea, snacks, and fruit.

"Grandpa, please have some tea and snacks and rest for a while. Chu'er will be here soon," Azi said with a smile.
