As Consort Shu watched Mu Wanyu's departing figure, a sinister smile curled at the corner of her lips.
Caiyue stepped forward, puzzled: "Your Highness, why are you doing this? Won't we be exposed?"
"This Mu Wanyu is so foolish, how do you think she could see the Emperor? And even if she did, what could she do? If the Emperor investigates, to put it bluntly, I'm only doing this out of sisterly affection. Besides, that fool might not even realize what's going on."
Caiyue nodded: "Then what about the drizzle in Qianyuan Hall?"
"Once this is done, we can clean things up. Her family is in our hands, so she won't dare disobey."
"Your Majesty has a brilliant plan."
"Let's go, it's almost time."
Here, Mu Wanyu followed the unfamiliar palace maid to the back gate of Qianyuan Hall, where two eunuchs were guarding it.
"How are we supposed to get in?" Mu Wanyu said, dissatisfied.
The young palace maid smiled slightly, curtsied, and gestured for her to wait a moment. Sure enough, a palace maid appeared shortly afterward, opened the back door from the inside, said something to the two eunuchs, and the two entered the Qian Yuan Hall.
The person was Xiaoyu. She looked around in a panic and saw the people around Consort Shu leading Consort Xian over.
"Go inside quickly," Xiaoyu said softly.
Mu Wanyu nodded, looked around, and followed Xiaoyu through the back door of Qianyuan Hall with her head down.
The young palace maid glanced around to make sure no one was watching, then hurriedly left, tearing off the human skin mask from her face and stuffing it into her bosom as she went.
A short while later, the two eunuchs on duty at the back gate returned. Xiaoyu was sweeping the backyard, and everything seemed normal.
After entering the Qian Yuan Hall, Mu Wanyu almost got lost. She avoided the palace servants while searching for the emperor's bedroom.
After searching for half an hour, we finally stopped next to the main hall. Hiding behind a thick pillar, we saw Zheng He and Er guarding the door beside Emperor Jingcheng. We immediately confirmed that this was the emperor's bedroom.
Just as she was racking her brains trying to figure out how to get in, a young eunuch called Zheng He away, but two more young eunuchs were still guarding outside.
She couldn't care less about anything else; everyone was snoring, so she had no choice but to force her way through! She straightened her clothes and hair, clasped her hands over her stomach, straightened her back, and walked out.
Just then, a voice rang in my mind: "No, no, you'll get killed if you do this! Go back quickly before anyone notices!"
Mu Wanyu shook her head irritably: "Shut up! You have no right to interfere in my life!"
"No! Stop it!"
Ignoring everything, Mu Wanyu walked out and slowly approached the bedchamber. The two eunuchs guarding the door naturally saw her.
"Greetings, Consort Mu." After the two finished their greetings, they immediately stood up without waiting for her to say anything.
"Your Highness, how could you be here without the Emperor's summons?" the two eunuchs asked solemnly.
"I am the Emperor's concubine, why can't I be here? I want to go in and see the Emperor!" Mu Wanyu still couldn't speak properly, as arrogant and domineering as ever.
Two eunuchs exchanged a glance and blocked the entrance to the imperial bedchamber: "Your Highness, you cannot go in. Your unauthorized entry into the Emperor's bedchamber is a serious crime."
"Insolence! Get out of my way, you bunch of lackeys!" Mu Wanyu was driven mad by the voice in her head and screamed, "Shut up!"
Azi, who was sleeping soundly in Di Jingcheng's arms in the bedchamber, was startled awake. Her body trembled violently, and she clung tightly to the man beside her. Her big eyes opened, and she stared blankly at the man who was full of worry.
Di Jingcheng was also startled. His first reaction was to hug the girl tightly and gently comfort her, "Azi, don't be afraid, don't be afraid, I'm here, I've always been here, don't be afraid..."
He gently stroked her back with one hand, patted her buttocks with the other, and kissed the top of her head, just like he was coaxing a child.
Seeing that Azi was clearly terrified and couldn't come to her senses for a long time, he tried his best to suppress his anger and comforted her with heartache in his eyes.
The noise outside continued. Di Jingcheng dared not let go of the girl whose body was tense in his arms. He cursed inwardly, "Damn Zheng He, he still can't handle this after so long. What is he good for?!"
"Azi, it's alright, it's alright, I'm here."
Di Jingcheng thought the noise outside would soon subside, but unexpectedly, the sound of someone breaking down the door came from outside. Di Jingcheng wrapped the little person in his arms tightly with a blanket and held him in his arms, gently coaxing him.
"Outrageous! Zheng He Er, what's going on here!" Di Jingcheng roared in fury, and the girl in his arms shivered twice more, then began to sob pitifully.
"I want to go home! You all bullied me!" Azi began to complain sadly. She was already feeling unwell, hadn't had enough sleep, and had been frightened. She felt really wronged.
Di Jingcheng frantically tried to coax him, "Baby, it's all my fault, don't scare me, baby!"
Outside, Zheng He and his entourage had just seen off Consort Shu when they saw someone burst into the Emperor's bedchamber, instantly breaking out in a cold sweat.
"What are you doing? Get this crazy woman out of here!" Zheng He'er was so anxious that he personally grabbed Mu Wanyu, who had just barged in.
As they were pulling people along, they heard the emperor's furious roar, which startled Zheng He and his entourage.
The emperor's roar made the group of people move much more nimbly, and they finally managed to control the person. They were already covered in sweat. This Lady Mu was supposed to be a young lady from a wealthy family, so how could she be so strong? They never noticed it before.
She kept calling out, "Your Majesty, I want to see you! Your Majesty, you can't just abandon me like this, I truly love you! Your Majesty, come out!..."
Consort Xian kept shouting, so Zheng San tore a sock off the foot of a nearby eunuch and stuffed it into her mouth, which quieted her down considerably.
"Alright, alright, get them out of here quickly, don't disturb the Emperor," Zheng He ordered.
