Chapter 173 Yang Weiguo and Tian Min arrive home

Yang Weiguo scratched his head, looking at his wife with a blank expression. The two of them had already held their wedding here.

When I go home, I'll take my wife there to see it; their place is very different from Hainan Province.

The two hurriedly made cotton-padded clothes, as it had been quite cold at home lately, and they didn't know how many snowfalls had occurred.

Just to be on the safe side, you should still bring a cotton-padded coat, otherwise you'll definitely freeze when you get back.

They were making preparations here, and Tian Min's parents were also carrying their own things; they wouldn't be going with them this time.

The old lady in the family hasn't been feeling well lately, and the weather there is also very cold, which they can't stand.

They've gotten used to this place over the years; they were also from the north and were assigned here.

I've lived in Qinghai Province for decades, and since my hometown is also in Qin Province, I know the weather there quite well.

Yang Weiguo was very grateful for the things his parents-in-law brought him.

The two traveled by train for several days. On the train, Tian Min was a very curious person.

Despite constantly adding layers of clothing, she couldn't resist her longing to gradually turn snow-white.

Tian Min, who grew up in the south, only knew about her hometown from her grandparents' stories.

They eat everything, and the whole family is used to eating noodles and rice.

Every now and then they would steam some buns to satisfy their cravings; my grandparents still longed for that taste.

After several days on the train, Tian Min and Yang Weiguo arrived at Anshi Railway Station.

They boarded the bus back to Zhou County, carrying some of their belongings, mostly sent back via express delivery.

After getting off the train, Tian Min was dressed like a little dumpling, and the two of them were quite uncomfortable with it. Yang Weiguo hadn't worn such clothes for many years.

Tian Min had never worn it before, and seeing the two people with limited mobility, she could only smile helplessly.

The north wind howled and stung her face with a cold pain, and Tian Min still shivered.

Looking at the people around them who were dressed similarly, they finally felt a sense of reassurance.

Yang Weiguo contacted his comrades and waited for them outside.

The two men, carrying a lot of things, squeezed through the crowd and saw their comrade-in-arms Wang Zheng waiting for them there.

Wang Zheng works at the Municipal Public Security Bureau. He and Yang Weiguo served together in the army for many years before being injured and transferred back to civilian life last year.

"Welcome back to Qin Province, sister-in-law. Let's put your luggage away first, then we'll go have a meal and then take you to the station to catch your train."

After exchanging pleasantries, the two quickly got into the car; it was still quite cold outside.

After a bumpy journey, they arrived in Zhou County, where Yang Weimin and his brother were already waiting for them at the station.

Both were excited to see their younger brother (older brother) whom they hadn't seen for several years and quickly went over to help them with their luggage.

"Big brother, third brother, you two are here."

Watching Tian Min introduce her eldest brother and third brother, she said, "Tian Min, these are my eldest brother and third brother."

Tian Min looked at the two brothers and said, "Big brother, third brother, hello, I am Tian Min."

The two agreed and hurried toward the oxcart.

Old Yang looked at the young man he hadn't seen for many years; he had grown up to be strong and powerful, and the woman following behind him was probably his new bride.

"Uncle Yang, how have you been all these years?"

"Okay, okay, everything is fine. Quickly let your wife sit down. It's her first time here. It's cold here, let's go back quickly."

"Tian Min, this is Uncle Yang. Uncle Yang has always been in charge of the oxcarts in our village."

"Uncle Yang, thank you so much for your help today."

"Okay, you're welcome. Get in the car quickly."

After getting on the oxcart, Yang Weimin handed the scarf that Zhang Datao had prepared to his second brother.

Yang Weiguo saw a red scarf and quickly wrapped it around his wife's neck, just as he remembered it.

Tian Min felt warm instantly, and seeing everything covered in white, she was very curious about what snow was like.

Despite the cold, Tian Min was very excited to see the vast expanse of white snow. She had only heard the elders talk about it before, but this time she truly experienced it for herself.

The north wind was howling, and no one spoke as they sat in the car looking at the surrounding scenery.

Yang Weiguo finally felt a sense of belonging. He was really back. Looking at everything familiar, he recalled the scenes of playing with his friends in the village when he was a child.

When they arrived at the Yang family's house, Song Yining was also invited over. The whole family saw Tian Min, who was wrapped up tightly, and quickly ushered her into the inner room.

Once Tian Min and Yang Weiguo were inside the warm house, they sat on the heated kang (a traditional heated brick bed), and only then did they feel a little better.

I felt much more relaxed after slowly taking it off. I looked curiously at the furnishings in the room and still felt a sense of wonder as I sat on the warm kang (heated brick bed).

I had only ever heard my grandparents talk about the kang (heated brick bed) before, but now I've finally experienced it myself.

Yang Weiguo looked at his wife with curiosity and couldn't help but chuckle; she really was a curious woman.

"How is it? Is it the same as you imagined?"

"It's amazing. I've heard about it since I was a child, but I only experienced it for the first time today. Once I recover, I'm going to try playing in the snow and enjoy the joy that snow brings."

"Okay, I was worried you wouldn't be able to adapt, but it seems I was worrying for nothing."

Tian Min looked at Yang Weiguo proudly, "You underestimate me."

“Okay, now I’m relieved. The little girl inside is the daughter of my grandmother’s wet nurse’s son. She’s currently working in the countryside around here, and she’s quite an interesting girl.”

"Okay, I understand. Let's tidy up and change our clothes so as not to keep everyone waiting."

After tidying themselves up, the two went out to the main room to chat with everyone.

It was also the first time the family had a formal meeting, but the children had no recollection of Yang Weiguo.

It was only after they learned that their second uncle (or second paternal uncle) who was in the army saw a man who looked like their father that they realized he was their father's brother.

The chubby girl has been eager to walk lately, and she's been restless in Grandpa Wang Hongli's lap, trying to wriggle and twist around.

Everyone looked at the little girl with doting eyes, seeing how uncomfortable she looked in her grandfather's arms.

Tian Min saw that everyone was looking at the little girl, who was fair and chubby, and instantly fell in love with her.

The chubby girl smiled sweetly at Tian Min, whom she didn't recognize, and raised her hand towards her.

Tian Min walked up to the little girl and gestured for her to come over.

The chubby girl wasn't shy at all; she shakily managed to wriggle out of her grandfather's arms.

As they walked towards Tian Min, everyone watched the little girl's movements with bated breath.

Tian Min liked the chubby girl very much, but when she picked her up, she realized that the chubby girl really was chubby.

Fortunately, my body was strengthened by my grandparents' training, and after becoming a doctor, I often trained with soldiers, so I can still pick up the child.

The little girl touched and stroked her second aunt's face, looking around curiously.

Seeing their great-granddaughter like this, Grandma Yang and the other elderly folks liked their daughter-in-law even more, and now they felt much more at ease.

People say that children's feelings don't lie; once they've made up their minds, there's absolutely no problem with them.
