Chapter 8 The House is Bare

The mother and daughter inside the house had already woken up, and Shen Shiyu looked around her room.

She cried out in a panic, "Mom, where did all the furniture in my room go? Even my bed is gone!"

Look at the state of my body! What am I going to do? I feel sore all over and have no strength at all.

Shen Shiyu paid no attention to his mother, who was now just as talkative as him.

Looking at her daughter and then at herself, Han Ping felt her heart sink to the bottom. Seeing the spots on their bodies, she felt like she wanted to die.

Shen Shiyu was just thinking about her room and was in such a hurry to find her mother when she passed by the living room that she didn't notice that the room was empty.

Listening to her daughter's words, Han Ping looked at her own room, which was completely bare. It was all over, everything was over.

Who would steal his own things? That damned bastard! He can't even get up now; his legs feel like lead, and he sits on the ground looking utterly hopeless.

The two were completely bewildered and didn't know what to do. Seeing that her mother was silent, Shen Shiyu quickly squatted down and shook her.

The two hugged each other, still wallowing in their melancholy, crying as they embraced. They didn't know what to do at that moment, despite their usual arrogance and haughtiness.

This is where it comes into play; he just sits there dumbfounded, only knowing how to cry.

They didn't even see that their door was open and that their neighbors were about to come in.

Everyone squeezed into the Shen family's courtyard. Seeing that there was no one in the courtyard, they all looked at the door of the main house, which was half open.

Seeing that there was no one in the courtyard, and that the door to the main house was ajar, they could hear sobbing coming from inside.

Everyone was eager to try it out, so they went inside together. The neighbor's wife was very curious and called out, "Sister-in-law Chen, are you there?"

Looking at the empty living room, it felt as if that sentence echoed, but neither of the two people in the room heard it.

The sound of sobbing came from inside the room, creating an eerie atmosphere that gave me goosebumps.

In this age without entertainment, people are very gossipy, and no one spoke up when they saw that no one was talking.

The old lady next door looked at the empty living room and assumed they were moving. She whispered, "They're moving without making a sound. Where are they going to move to?"

They really moved everything out; only the doors, windows, and walls are left.

They walked straight into the bedroom, and the moment they opened the door, four eyes stared at the group of people entering, and the air fell silent.

Shen Shiyu had her back to her and didn't see it, but Han Ping reacted at that moment: "Ah...ah...ah..."

The neighbors who came in found the marks on the mother and daughter's bodies quite shocking.

They all covered their eyes, saying, "Wow, this is too intense! Look at what they've done to themselves, it's really an eyesore!" They didn't forget to sneak a peek, though.

It felt like there was glue stuck to my foot, and a group of people were just watching.

The chicken next door that was so frightened that it started nesting was once so frightened that it was sucked in.

The hen's mournful eyes, hearing the shrill scream just now, made her wonder if she had stepped in dog poop today, and if she was going to be left without a place to lay eggs.

Didn't you see how much the little master cried while waiting? Do you know how hard it was for me?

What kind of people are these days? They scare me so much, I'm really about to meet my great-grandmother.

If I stop laying eggs, I'll end up as the chicken soup or the fragrant chicken meat on the table. It's so pitiful to be a chicken.

Why are these humans making such a fuss every day? They could explode on the spot if they didn't make a sound.

It's not easy to scare this hardworking old hen like me. Maybe the people who eat me will become petty or suffer brain atrophy.

I'm just a hardworking old hen, why do I have to worry about so much?

I'll wait for my little master to find some bugs for me to eat in the vegetable garden, to comfort my aggrieved heart, so I can be a cheerful chicken and lay a smooth, shiny egg. A grumpy egg is just too ugly.

I am also a proud hen, and I also dislike the imperfect eggs I lay.

Ugh, I'm so tired. I'll rest in the coop for a while. Being a chicken is tiring too.

Back in her hometown, Song Yining thought to herself that the original owner of this body had been protected too well. There was nothing she could do but face the facts.

My mother's closest relative ruined her life, and we don't even know if they are alive or dead now. The only thing we can do now is to resolve this hidden danger.

In this way, the Song family can live in peace and stability, and Song Yining will not feel guilty.

If the Shen family's affairs become detrimental to the Song family, he will collapse.

Song Yining still told Grandpa Song what she had overheard: "Grandpa, do you know, I overheard a conversation between my nominal biological mother and her adopted daughter."

My biological mother is someone else. The current Han Ping is my aunt. She and my biological mother are twins.

After my mother went into labor, they switched identities with her and then abandoned me. This was premeditated, and I don't know who else was behind it.

It's hard to say whether it's related to the Shen family's past.

Grandpa Song also began to ponder. Everything seemed calm on the surface, but he wondered if the Shen family had been too wealthy in the past, and even after donating most of their fortune, some people still didn't believe it.

The family only has the youngest son left, yet those people still won't give up. What kind of world is this?

Song Yining said with a worried look, "Grandpa, do you know?"

My biological mother was timid and disliked by her family since childhood, while my nominal aunt was pampered by the family because she was sweet-talking from a young age.

He had always envied and been jealous of his older sister since he was a child. Zhang Da took over his sister's life and even threw away the child his sister had given birth to.

"You stole my sister's life, and my mother doesn't even know if she's alive or dead. This is worse than being an animal. I've given my mother everything since she was little."

When Grandpa Song heard his granddaughter's words, he couldn't believe it. These were things from storybooks, but they had actually happened in real life.

Grandpa Song looked at his granddaughter and said, "So what are your plans for the future? Can Grandpa help you?"

Song Yining whispered her thoughts to Grandpa Song.

The two whispered among themselves for a while, and in the end, Grandpa Song was very happy that someone could inherit his skills.

It's all thanks to my nagging all these years, otherwise I would be taking it to my grave.

The proud old man, seeing that his granddaughter didn't come over to plead with him, and wasn't angry, said, "You brat, why aren't you coming over to study? What are you still doing standing there? Don't you know time is precious?"

Grandma Song and her two younger brothers smiled as they watched the two interact, and then the two brothers went to find their friends to play with.

The fields aren't very busy lately; those who go to work only start in the afternoon when the sun isn't too hot.

We arrived early in the morning and finished work early in the afternoon; everyone is resting now.

Only the village children are playing outside, while the adults stay at home, doing chores around the house.

Song Yining took the basket and hoe prepared by her grandfather and set off to collect herbs in the mountains.
