Chapter 10: Too Arrogant

Lin Xiaoxiao endured it twice, but she couldn't take it anymore.

Going to a restaurant to eat feels like begging for food.

Lin Xiaoxiao slammed her hand on the counter in front of her.

"What do you mean by 'comrade'? Is this your attitude towards serving the people? This is a state-run restaurant, not a street vendor's place. I'm here to eat, not to beg!!"

"What? Just because my clothes have patches, I can't eat at a restaurant? Is that what the government says? I'm a poor person, and being poor is glorious. Do you think you're some kind of capitalist's rich girl?"

"Don't forget you're just a waiter, it's just a job. Besides, do you think you deserve to be a waiter? If you don't want to do it, there are plenty of people in Beijing who would like to do your job. I don't believe anyone else would have a worse attitude than you!"

"Where is the leader here? Call him out. I'm going to file a complaint against you and have a serious talk with him about how you serve the people. I'm sure others can do a better job than you."

The waiter was so frightened by Lin Xiaoxiao's outburst that he dared not speak. Working in a state-run restaurant was a very respectable job, and no one had ever dared to speak to her like that before.

In the past, when I had a bad attitude, people would only say a word or two, but they never pointed their fingers at me and cursed me like this woman in front of me.

If they want to eat at a state-run restaurant, they have to hold back.

I never expected that this skinny woman would dare to complain to her superiors.

"You...you're talking nonsense. How could I look down on poor people? You're just labeling me. You're so young, what do you know? Why can't I do this job?"

The guests at the other table immediately started whistling.

"That's right, young lady. This waiter is awful. Someone should have stood up and scolded him a long time ago. I don't know what he's so arrogant about all day long."

“That’s right, if it weren’t for the fact that this is the only state-run restaurant in this area, I wouldn’t have come here.”

"Hey, there's a reason why there aren't many people here. My colleagues like to eat here; we come here once or twice a month."

But after this waiter arrived, many people stopped coming here. Who wants to come out for a meal and have to put up with this kind of treatment?

"snort……"

Lin Xiaoxiao heard everything they said clearly and scoffed:

"Did you hear that? It's not just me saying that, everyone is saying it too. I don't believe that your leaders won't believe just me, but they'll believe the masses, right?"

"Hey girl, if the boss comes, I'll have a good talk with him too."

"That's right, take me with you, I've been holding this in for a long time."

When the waiter heard everyone saying this and wanting to do it, he started to panic, but he just didn't want to apologize.

A person stood there blankly, then buried their face in the counter and started crying.

Lin Xiaoxiao: "..."

The chefs inside, hearing the commotion outside, immediately ran out.

"I'm so sorry for today. We know everyone's opinions. She's young, so please give her a chance to make amends."

"Young lady, you've already ordered, right? You can start cooking now, it'll be ready to eat soon," the chef said to Lin Xiaoxiao.

I ordered something from the waiter, but the waiter just wouldn't get up.

The chef looked at her apologetically, then apologized again and prepared the dishes Lin Xiaoxiao had ordered.

Lin Xiaoxiao glanced at the waiter but didn't say anything more. She wasn't really complaining about anything; it was just that the waiter's attitude was too arrogant.

If we don't scare them and give them a warning, they might go even further in the future.

Lin Xiaoxiao deliberately chose a seat close to the kitchen, because her words had offended the people at the state-run restaurant.

If there are people with bad intentions.

We don't know what they'll do to the food.

The waiters' attitude has always been so bad, yet they can still stay here and work properly. Who knows, they might have some powerful connections.

What if this waiter was a child of some leader who managed to get this job?

She was being a little too cautious, but it's never wrong to be cautious.

Perhaps because of the anger caused by the waiters, the chefs in the kitchen cooked the dishes very quickly. Lin Xiaoxiao didn't have to wait long before the dishes were all laid out on the table, making the people around her envious and drooling.

Lin Xiaoxiao ate as if no one else was around.

Yes, this braised pork is delicious.

Good, the braised pork ribs are flavorful.

Yes, the roast chicken is so tender.

Lin Xiaoxiao was very satisfied with these dishes; her mouth was satisfied, and her stomach was also very satisfied.

It has to be said that the portion sizes for food in this era were particularly generous; even she, with her appetite, could hardly finish it.

Lin Xiaoxiao happily finished eating, and then pretended to take out a lunchbox from her bag, which was actually her spatial storage.

They packed up the remaining food and then carried the bag out.

As Lin Xiaoxiao walked out, she felt a gaze following her. When she turned her head, the waiter's eyes widened in panic, and his face was full of embarrassment.

He probably wanted to say a few words behind Lin Xiaoxiao's back, but little did he know that Lin Xiaoxiao was watching him.

Lin Xiaoxiao glanced at her for a second, then said, "Work hard, or I'll complain." She then left.

She's deliberately being sarcastic; don't hold your breath.

After eating and drinking her fill, Lin Xiaoxiao's next goal was to get into the supply and marketing cooperative.

There are supplies in the space, but some of them still need to be handled openly.

At this time of year, almost everyone is at work, so there aren't many people at the supply and marketing cooperative.

Lin Xiaoxiao held the money and tickets in her hand and wandered around inside.
