After they finished talking, Lin Xiaoxiao kicked Han Qiushi out of the room so he could wash up and get some rest. He hadn't slept much that day before going to the army to work, and he was sure he would be busy for the next few days. Today was the only day he could get a good night's sleep.
Seeing that his wife cared about him, Han Qiushi was naturally happy to do anything. He happily took the basin and towel and went to wash up.
Lin Xiaoxiao went straight into the space to take a bath. Now that Han Qiushi knows her secret, she doesn't need to hide anything anymore. Why bother boiling water when there's a nice bathroom to use?
When Han Qiushi returned after washing up, he found that Lin Xiaoxiao had already changed into her pajamas and was half-lying on the bed reading. He wanted to ask his wife why she hadn't gone to wash up today, but as soon as he got to the bedside, he smelled a very fragrant scent on Lin Xiaoxiao.
The scent was even more fragrant than that of soap, making Han Qiushi a little distracted, but seeing Lin Xiaoxiao reading a book, he forcefully suppressed the heat within him.
After tidying up the room, I picked up a book that Lin Xiaoxiao had given me and started reading.
The two of them were reading by themselves, neither disturbing the other. Soon it was 10 o'clock, and with a "snap," Han Qiushi couldn't help but turn off the light.
"Wife, it's getting late, let's go to bed." He then couldn't help but throw the book out of Lin Xiaoxiao's hand, turning over to pat her down: "Wife, why do you smell so good?"
"Smelling you for so long is making me feel nauseous..."
Soon, the temperature in the room rose higher and higher, and the fragrance of Lin Xiaoxiao's body, along with her hot sweat, filled the room.
The next day, Lin Xiaoxiao took advantage of her free time and went directly to Liu Hai's warehouse.
When they arrived near the warehouse, Lin Xiaoxiao hid in her spatial dimension and happened to run into Liu Hai and his underlings.
Liu Hai didn't look too good early in the morning. Logically speaking, there should be some news about the goods from the night before last. Usually, when they are at the transit station, the people below will send him a telegram to let him know that they are safe.
But he didn't receive any news yesterday, and he thought there was still plenty of time. But he still hasn't received any news today, and he's starting to get anxious.
Seeing that Wanli also looked anxious but couldn't do anything about it, Liu Hai's face became even more sour.
Wanli glanced at Liu Hai, knowing he was in a bad mood, but still couldn't help saying, "Damn it, could it be that some people have eaten the gall of a bear and swallowed those things?"
"Wanli, what do you mean? You didn't say a word when nothing was going on, but now you're bringing this up?"
If it weren't for the higher-ups saying they wanted to do this together, Liu Hai wouldn't have wanted Wan Li involved at all. He provided almost all the manpower, and the work was all done by his own people. Wan Li's presence was completely useless.
Instead, they were treated like prisoners, with someone watching them.
"No, that's not what I meant. Everyone's anxious when something happens, and I was just guessing one of the reasons." Wanli had been ordered to come and monitor Liu Hai, but considering Liu Hai's suspicious nature and the fact that he was becoming increasingly difficult to approach, he didn't say it outright, only that he was here to help.
Since there's no news about the goods, he also has a responsibility, so naturally he'll think in the most likely direction.
Seeing Liu Hai's sour expression, Wan Li stood up and said, "Then I'll call and ask if anything has happened at the dock recently."
“That sounds more plausible.” Liu Hai thought for two seconds and continued, “Go ask him. I need to think about it carefully. If there really is a problem with the goods, how should we resolve it? If we don’t get an explanation, we’re all doomed.”
"Of course I know, but if we can't find anything out, should we just report this?" Wanli wanted to tell his superiors the truth, but he hesitated because he knew that valuable goods had been lost while he was in charge.
"Let's investigate first." Liu Hai was incredibly annoyed by this whole thing. He'd been having the worst luck lately. Getting knocked out and having money stolen was bad enough, but now even such important goods were in trouble.
The previous times had all gone smoothly. Liu Hai was stunned when he thought of this. Damn it, could someone be watching him?
Thinking of this, Liu Hai's eyes sharpened. He looked around but found nothing unusual, wondering if he was overthinking things.
If Lin Xiaoxiao knew that Liu Hai was thinking this way, she would have to praise him for being perceptive.
Listening to their conversation, she knew that Wanli and Liu Hai were not a united front. If Han Qiushi and his group wanted to cause trouble, they might be able to start by exploiting their relationship.
But that's all for later; her task today was to come and collect the items.
Lin Xiaoxiao bypassed Liu Hai and his group, wandered around the courtyard where they were, and finally found a passageway in a very inconspicuous room, which looked very much like a cellar.
Lin Xiaoxiao had a gut feeling that this was no ordinary cellar. When no one was around, she opened the cellar door and slowly walked down the stairs, where she heard voices coming from inside.
"These things are selling really fast lately, we need to get more stock."
Hearing the sound, Lin Xiaoxiao walked towards it and took in the entire cellar.
Goodness, this cellar is bigger than she imagined. It took her several minutes to walk around inside. It must be comparable in size to a department store warehouse.
