Chapter 66 The teacher came to see him off

Su Li handed the things in her hand to Lin Xiaoxiao:

“I made some steamed buns. You can take them with you on the way. The food on the train isn’t very good. These meat buns will last you for two days.”

“Heilongjiang Province is particularly cold, and I don’t have any special skills. I borrowed some money from friends and only managed to get 5 jin of cotton. Don’t be reluctant to use it; your health is the most important thing.”

Lin Xiaoxiao felt a warmth in her heart. Cotton was sold in limited quantities, and you could only buy 3 jin at a time. Su Li was able to buy 5 jin, probably by trading with someone else.

Although she hadn't spent much time with Su Li, she was the only person who had ever been genuinely kind to her since she came to this world.

Thinking that she had plenty of cotton, Lin Xiaoxiao refused:

"Teacher, I'll take the meat bun. Winters in Beijing are very cold, and cotton is hard to come by. Take it back and make yourself a coat."

“I’ve lived in Beijing for so long, I know how to get through the winter. Here, take this.” As Su Li spoke, her eyes reddened.

“I also brought some pastries and cured meat. You can give some to the village team leader and see if he can take care of you. You're so thin, don't overwork yourself going to the countryside.”

"If anything happens, don't bear it alone. Remember to talk to the captain. If it's not easy to solve, write to me."

Lin Xiaoxiao nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, "Teacher, I will take good care of myself. I happen to be strong, so I won't be bullied. Don't worry."

Su Li knew that Lin Xiaoxiao was better than others, but she still couldn't help but say, "You're going to the countryside, so this can't be changed. I've specifically inquired about Heilongjiang Province. It's a remote place with little oversight, but it's also chaotic. Your Uncle Zhang and I have discussed it. If there are any job opportunities available, we'll help you sort things out, and maybe you can come back."

"Our energy level might not be enough to bring you back so soon."

Lin Xiaoxiao immediately shook her head. Finding a job in Beijing is not easy. It definitely requires bribing officials and spending money, and it also takes a lot of favors. Su Li has already used up a lot of favors to get a university recommendation form.

I can't trouble the teacher any further.

Besides, she's not delicate at all; she can handle any mess, and if all else fails, she still has her spatial ability.

"Teacher, don't worry, I can take care of myself. Everyone is hibernating in winter and won't be doing any work, so don't bother me anymore."

I will write to you often.

Su Li knew that the child was thinking of them, and since they were about to board the train, she had to put the topic aside for now.

When they started giving Lin Xiaoxiao advice, they mostly talked about how to get along with people, since this child hadn't received much attention from her family since she was little.

The fear is that no one will teach these things to parents, and they will suffer in interpersonal relationships after going to the countryside.

Soon, the train station whistle sounded.

Lin Xiaoxiao walked towards the train, and Su Li insisted on helping her carry her things up.

There were many people coming to see me off today, and many people taking the train.

Lin Xiaoxiao was carrying a suitcase, a large package, and two small bags of odds and ends, along with what Su Li was carrying. Luckily, Su Li helped out, otherwise it would have been really difficult to get up there.

Lin Xiaoxiao asked Han Qiulin to help her get a sleeper berth, but to her surprise, he thoughtfully bought her a lower berth, so she wouldn't have to climb up and down.

After finding their seats, Lin Xiaoxiao put down her things and told Su Li to get off the train so that they wouldn't have trouble getting off later.

Before leaving, Su Li reluctantly told Lin Xiaoxiao, "Remember to write to me if anything happens, and we can work together to find a solution to any problems."

Lin Xiaoxiao: "I know, teacher. I'll send you a telegram when I get there."

Su Li: "Hey, remember to take care of yourself, the teacher is leaving."

"good."

After watching Su Li leave, Lin Xiaoxiao kept looking out the window until she was sure Su Li had gotten off the bus safely before turning her gaze away.

The educated youth going to Heilongjiang Province were all in hard-seat carriages. Lin Xiaoxiao didn't think about saying hello, but planned to take the train alone.

She doesn't need companions; being alone means less trouble and more peace and quiet.

Looking at the vast crowds outside the train window, Lin Xiaoxiao couldn't help but marvel at how many people there were now, a stark contrast to the sparse number of people in the apocalypse.

However, Lin Xiaoxiao was in a lighthearted mood at the moment, but the people next to her had faces full of sorrow at parting. A girl was sitting on the opposite bunk wiping away tears, reluctant to leave her loved ones and also afraid of going to live in an unfamiliar environment.

Seeing Lin Xiaoxiao sitting there calmly.

The girl couldn't help but choke up and said, "Comrade, aren't you sad at all?"

Lin Xiaoxiao was envisioning a wonderful life after going to the countryside when her beautiful daydreams were suddenly interrupted. She wanted to say, "What's it to you?"

But when I saw this girl, with her dark skin, very thin, even thinner than me, and dry, yellowish hair, and especially her clear eyes, I looked at her with great confusion.

Lin Xiaoxiao felt that if she said those words aloud, it would make her seem particularly heartless.

"I had already cried all my tears by the morning."

The girl was stunned for a moment after hearing what she said, then nodded repeatedly: "I understand, I understand, but when I saw my parents and older brother just now, I just couldn't help myself."

Lin Xiaoxiao thought of something and desperately suppressed the corners of her mouth, afraid that saying too much would reveal her happy mood. She only replied with one word: "Mmm." Then she lay down on the table.

The girl saw Lin Xiaoxiao suddenly slump onto the table, her shoulders heaving, and assumed that Lin Xiaoxiao was crying because she had stirred up her emotions.

The girl suddenly felt very guilty. She opened her mouth but didn't say anything. She just patted her shoulder.

He even kindly poured Lin Xiaoxiao a glass of water.
