The night passed peacefully.
Lin Xiaoxiao slowly woke up on the train. She rubbed her sleepy eyes and realized that everyone in the carriage was already awake.
The morning sunlight streamed in through the cracks in the car window, and dust particles danced in the light.
Lin Xiaoxiao stretched, yawned, and then took out her toiletries, preparing to wash up.
She walked towards the bathroom, still half asleep, only to find that someone was already there.
She stood outside waiting helplessly, her eyes somewhat dazed, with a hint of sleepiness in them.
After waiting for two minutes, Lin Xiaoxiao became a little impatient and decided to go back to her carriage first and come back later.
She had just taken a step when she heard a muffled thud from the restroom, the sound standing out starkly in the quiet connecting area between the carriages.
Lin Xiaoxiao immediately became more alert. She frowned, a bad premonition rising in her heart.
She approached the restroom, listened intently, and could faintly hear the breathing of two people inside, along with some slight struggling sounds.
Lin Xiaoxiao's heart tightened. She stood there for two seconds, bit her lip, and then stepped forward to knock on the door, trying to make her voice sound calm: "Comrade, have you finished using the toilet?"
Upon hearing Lin Xiaoxiao's voice, the people inside immediately became flustered, like startled rabbits.
Lin Xiaoxiao was even more certain that something had happened inside. She knocked harder, her voice trembling slightly, "Comrades? Are you alright?"
Suddenly, the door was flung open with a "whoosh," and a strong, thick hand reached out. Lin Xiaoxiao quickly raised her hand to block it.
But because she was holding toiletries in her other hand, she didn't notice her braided hair and was pulled forcefully into the bathroom.
Lin Xiaoxiao stumbled and almost fell.
The train toilet was cramped, and she accidentally bumped her waist. It didn't actually hurt, but she quickly pretended to cry out in pain.
She tilted her head slightly and saw Sun Yue cowering in the corner, her clothes torn in some places, revealing a large patch of skin at the neckline with several red scratches.
Her hair was a little messy, her eyes were filled with terror, and the watch on her wrist, which was always polished to a shine, was nowhere to be seen.
Standing next to her was a middle-aged man with a face full of scars and a fierce look in his eyes. He was holding a gleaming knife and pointing it at Sun Yue's neck.
When the middle-aged man saw Lin Xiaoxiao, he grinned, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth, and said viciously, "If you dare to make a sound, you'll be the one who dies later." His eyes were wide open, and the veins on his forehead were bulging, making him look quite frightening.
When Sun Yue saw someone come in, her eyes lit up with surprise, as if she had grasped a lifeline.
But when she saw that it was the petite Lin Xiaoxiao, her eyes instantly dimmed, her lips trembled slightly, and a trace of despair flashed in her eyes.
Lin Xiaoxiao tried her best to calm herself down. She looked at the middle-aged man, her voice trembling with tears, "Brother, I beg you, please don't hurt me. I have money, I'll give it to you as soon as I get out, okay?"
Her eyes were filled with fear, and large beads of sweat rolled down her forehead.
“I will give you money, my family is rich.” Sun Yue repeated, her body trembling slightly, her eyes pleading.
While crying out in pain, Lin Xiaoxiao was planning how to make her move.
Upon hearing Sun Yue's words, the middle-aged man seemed to be enraged. He suddenly swung his knife at Sun Yue's neck, causing her to scream in fright.
The middle-aged man cursed, "If you keep babbling, I'll make you bleed first." His eyes were filled with anger and resentment. "You little wench, you think you're so great just because you have money? I don't want your stinking money."
"I only want your body. Why should you all eat and drink well while I work my whole life and can't afford anything?" The middle-aged man became more and more agitated as he spoke, spitting as he spoke.
His face bore a twisted expression, a mixture of long-suppressed jealousy and resentment erupting from within.
Lin Xiaoxiao understood. This person was someone who resented the rich. Because Sun Yue's behavior was too high-profile, it had attracted people here.
Sun Yue was terrified. Her mind raced, trying to think of a way to escape.
Her voice trembled as she said, "Brother, there are people everywhere outside. If you hurt me, you'll die too." Her lips were bitten until they bled.
The middle-aged man, as if possessed, threw his head back and laughed wildly: "Haha, it's worth it to have you two women die with me." His laughter echoed in the cramped toilet, sounding particularly sinister and terrifying.
Sun Yue gritted her teeth and said, "Big brother, she's in too. She can't just be there for me..."
Upon hearing this, Lin Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrows and gave Sun Yue a meaningful look.
His gaze was like a sharp arrow, as if he wanted to see right through Sun Yue.
Sun Yue felt a little guilty under that gaze.
Her intuition told her that what Sun Yue was about to say was definitely not a nice thing.
Sun Yue shrank back, not daring to look Lin Xiaoxiao in the eye, and her gaze shifted away in a panic.
The middle-aged man glanced at Lin Xiaoxiao, a fierce glint in his eyes, and pointed the knife at her.
The knife gleamed coldly in the dim light, reflected in Lin Xiaoxiao's eyes. "Don't rush, once I'm free, she'll be next."
The middle-aged man grinned, revealing uneven teeth, a sinister smile playing on his lips. "Neither of you are getting away." His voice was low and hoarse, like the sound of an old bellows being pulled, filled with malice.
Lin Xiaoxiao hates nothing more than having a knife pointed at her.
